I stand with canada and Mexico. My question is why trump chose such a idiotic path? Its like he wants to cause chaos. It's like he wants to destroy our stability. He seems to be more like Putins tool everyday. This is action and others are not acceptable. Id like to introduce a bill to allow a special election by the people to remove any president or elected official whoes actions are detrimental. I think a 2/3 majority is fair. I welcome and comments to my post. Im just a concerned citizen trying to keep some control over our country when our checks and balances have become inadequate.

Canada has many problems and disadvantages which will need to be determinedly addressed in the coming years. However, we have one key advantage over our friends to the south, and one I hope that over time this will increasingly bear fruit: we are not governed by a fascist-adjacent government. Our only political party with policies resembling the American Republicans is polling in the low single digits.\n\nSetting aside the question of whether American Republicans are 'fascist-adjacent', the truth is that much of the world perceives it as such. Our economy is so tied to the US that I would not wish them ill, or at least not very much. I am Québécois, and things here are quite different from the rest of Canada. For example, we have a law here that clearly forbids wearing religious signs when in a position of authority. Even a teacher, because they are a figure of authority for their students, could not wear the Roman collar, a cassock, a hijab, a niqab or anything else of the sort while in school. In the streets or any other public place, there is no problem at all. Everyone is welcomed to express their difference of culture or religion in the way they dress or in whatever other way. They are treated with the same respect and kindness as anywhere else in Canada. It is only that the separation of religion and state, and religion and authority is paramount here. Everybody is free and can express themsleves freely. But don't use that freedom to impose your views onto others. \nSo, when American judges are chosen for the federal court specifically because of their christian fundamentalist biases, it doesn't resonate well at all for me or the majority of Québécois. When the rights of the LGBTQ+ community are being questioned or jeopardised. Or a previous federal judgement like Roe v Wade is being overturned for religious reasons... it is a definite turn off for all of the Québec people to even remotely consider the United States as a destination to emigrate to (supposing that one would want to leave our beautiful country).\nMore and more, America, that used to be recognized as the land of the free, appears to be retrograde and restrictive and definitely not so free.

Twenty thousand Indian students went to Canada on student visa but never reported to college just went missing. The most corrupted students among all other nations and the main culprits are Punjabi and Gujrati speaking students. How well paid jobs question arise, the students went for study on student visa,so how they can hope for getting jobs on student visa. Only a fool and brainless idiots working as journalist can say this.

I have spent quite a bit of time in USA and I always find my experience split. For the most part the people and places are great. As a filmmaker I have shot in NYC, California, Mississippi to name a few. The people were always accommodating and friendly. One time a gentlemen and his wife that allowed us to film in his property would bring us hot chocolate at night, then offered to shoot anyone who got in our way. I was also filming in the desert in 2009 and I almost got shot in the face by a group of police officers that charged in guns out and tempers raging, before realizing that we had film permits and were scheduled to be on site. Only to have the crew say that if I was black they would have shot first and asked questions later. As tensions rise between Canada and USA with Trump's trade war and attempt to ANNEX Canada I think I will do my filming in other parts of the world, if not in Canada. I have plenty of American friends and know a lot of Canadians that live in the US. I just hope things settle between our two nations soon. Where do you live? That means that Canada Customs could theoretically pay to find the answers to questions like: Does this person have a tendency to criminality or violence? Does this person pose a threat to children, law enforcement, or Canadian society? Is this person likely to be a burden on Canada's health care system?.... All of that information is available on every single American for a price. In fact, because Facebook/Meta and Google etc store their information in the United States, they could likely also give that information about every single Canadian.

Why are more Indian visas being rejected? Take a look at what's happening with Indians (mainly Punjabis) arriving in Canada since about 2022, especially on student visas, and you may find the answer to your question. It's been a disaster.

One time, I went on 1 day business trip to Canada ( i have American Citizenship, but born in Europe). Good Lord, I was asked so many ridiculous questions, and most were related to my former old country!!! Absolutely total idiotic nonsense!! Indian immigrants don’t assimilate. That’s why they think it’s okay to take a shit on the beach. Indian hygiene standards are low. When you land in India, you are greeted with the smell of it. As a former immigrant who has been a Canadian citizen for over 40 years I am mindful that too many immigrants get into the country too easily - not like in my time when I had to actually qualify to come here. We, the older generation (including immigrants), helped to build Canada, but the newcomers just come here to take what they can. There are too many new immigrants who should not be here in the first place, and they have no intention of assimilating. What a mess!\nI have to ask you a question, though. What if the high influx was from Sweden or Germany? Would you still be that interested in the story?

Unfortunately it is not true that a majority of the Indians are highly qualified. To be honest many of the Indian students here have poor communication skills and questionable qualifications. What is needed is a more careful selection process. I know of some Indians who are highly trained well educated and an asset to Canada especially in the health and tech fields. At the same time I see many who are not able to pass basic language tests let alone professional examinations.
