So here is how things will move on going from here, and this goes for people reading the comments. And full disclaimer I live in Victoria, BC so I can share my POV from the Canadian side:\n\nThere's toomuch of low skilled cheap labour coming in from Punjab and other countries like Nigeria, Philippines, etc. Its gotten sooo bad now that even Indians living in Canada are feeling like this is not what we came for.\n\nI can't even start with how bad the immigration has gotten, people can barely and I mean barely speak English and they are working for all possible low skilled jobs. Tim Hortons, Uber delivery, Uber Cabs, Petrol pumps I mean what is going on.\n\nRight now its getting to Canadians, and you need to understand that Canadians need these low skilled jobs for themselves too but employers are finding extremely cheap labour from other places to replace Canadians.\n\nSo if you ask me this move is good, it will surely hurt the skilled labour class too but its needed. Imagine have a million immigrants coming in with a country that has a population of 40 million.\n\nThe infrastructure comes to a stand still, housing is ruined, food inflation begins. \n\nHonestly thanks to Diploma mills, Asylum seekers and gangs from Punjab, its honestly gotten bad from the Indian perspective. Now add to this others coming in from Africa and South East Asia and you can see this country get worse honestly.\n\nThis isn't hate against anyone, its just facts.

No one should make comments until actually VISIT Canada and see how many Canadian towns have been destroyed by Trudeau's open immigration policy. This is a REAL immigration problem!!! Ironic, but your grandkids could merry one of us non-white people and your great grand kids could have an accent or brown skin colour. I am saddened by all what I am witnessing. As FRENCH, I think it is more an issue with policies set by both governments!!! You know you bring students IN and why don’t you build houses and encourage construction???? In France, many students (mainly Africa, and French departments like Guadeloupe, Tahiti or Martinique) come to study there (for free and we are proud of it!!!) BUT - unlike Canada - we do NOT have the same issues as Canada (our healthcare is NOT under pressure and our housing prices haven’t really increased that much as compared to Canada for example!!!) to me, the students are NOT to blame!!! It is the fault of the deciders (at different level) who have FAILED to set the right policies!!!! The schools are also to blame as some (not all) are so obsessed with making profits out of the higher international fees, which by way, subsidize Canadian students!!! So in Canada (not in France or Germany), the money that allows schools to function come from international students who BRING LOTS OF MONEY for the Canadian economy!!!! in France, it is different as the universities are FREE and are fully subsidized by the French government… but yes;) you have to speak French fluently to attend them!!! \nSo dear Canadians, do not blame foreign students thanks to whom your universities thrive and remain existant!!! Without them (namely the Indians too), the Canadian universities will struggle to find money and funding! Remember, the system in France is TOTALLY different!!!!\nAlso, reading from comments, I notice that many here have NEVER alert their own country!!! Stop blaming foreigners if YOU, YOURSELF DID NOT even get the BALLS to dare studying in places different than yours (like Germany, France, Sweden, Japan…)!!!! Only people of color/ sikh people who do not follow law and order in Canada are the terrorists which ran away from India to gain protection under trudeau. The people you are refering as Indian are actually the terrorists. Indian government has repeatedly asked Canadian goverment to handover these people so we could imprison them for terrorism they did in India. Like I explained, to those who say this will sour the us and canada's relationship. Americans don't care because even though Canada is less than 50% white, in they minds its still a majority white nation. That's why you don't see the BUILD A WALL etc, like you see with mexico, because even though the majority of immigrants crossing into the us from Mexico, might have been Mexican in the early 2000's, now that's not the case, 300k Colombians in one years, 175k indians, 75k turks, 150k, from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan, 500k from Russia and Ukraine since the war began, 200k from ecuador, 75k Chinese per year etc etc. And they scream, build a wall, and make mexico pay for it. Hello Sir, with due respect: i am an international student from INDIA, you are always welcome to stay in any of the 30 provinces in India! My question to you is, if an International student is spending 7000 cad each semester and completing a 2 yr program with total fee paid 28000 to 35000 CAD excluding the exorbitant rent like 1500 per month and grocery and personal tax, would definitely wish to get back some of the money they invested here in Canadian land, am i right? Would you be thinking the same way if you invest in India? Secondly, none of the employers are offering any white collar job or office job to these students unless otherwise they have Permanent Residency status here in Canada: the only way to get “PR” is to work for some pizza store or tim hortons- its not by choice, only jobs you have here in Canada for any students and now construction field too. So kindly don’t judge any international student from any part of the world on their skills. All we need is a way out by Planning our future. Lots of comments are on these kids: just imagine on a sports day or a national holiday or on a stormy day who will be serving you a double double? Hi… I totally agree with just about everything you stated in all aspects of the Indian community. I’m a Canadian who happens to be living in Brampton for the past 12 years. I’ve watched Brampton go from a beautiful community to a dark dreaded place to live , and this is truly because of Indian behaviours. Mind you I have many genuinely good intelligent respectful Indian friends, but there’s the others that thinks they owe the city, province, and country. They don’t respect no one, and I mean no one. NOT EVEN THEIR OWN KIND (Indians/ Punjab). And yes as a Canadian citizen whenever I see something I do call them out on it. However; the moment you say something to them they assume that you’re cursing at them and what was ment to be a respectful comment becomes a situation where they want to argue and even get into a physical fight. Then there’s the bad, careless driving on the streets with no regards to the next person’s life. They drive like their car is the only one on the street yet always looking for someone to race with not to mention the illegal U-TURN creating major accidents. I personally experienced this when a Tractor Trailer Driver tried making a U-TURN on the city street with only 4 lanes for both direction at 4AM in the morning. This caused me to almost ran under the trailer body which would have been the end of my life. They butt into lines and interrupts as much as business conversations thinking their concerns are way more important than anyone else’s and That’s just to name a few things.\nNow on the other hand I do have VERY GOOD RESPECTFUL INDIAN FRIENDS who I will never let go of our friendship because of their genuine respectful relationship although even those close friends are now pulling themselves away from their own country people and all because of the others behaviour.\nThirdly; YES, the Canadian government invites foreign students into the country with improper sources to monitor and direct a governing body to monitor and process the activities of foreign students .\n\nI love your honesty in your stories back your video clips as proof of your country men behaviour. India is a big nation with with diverse peope. The Indians in Canada are Punjabis. So blame Punjabis not ALL Indians. Also the issue with Punjabis in Canada is immigration fraud and exploiting poor Punjabis young people who came for a better life. Also many of the low paying jobs are getting taken over by Punjabis as part of immigration fraud and people are getting angry because other canadians feel discriminated. The truth is that it is not a racism but it is part of the immigration fraud and exploitation of these young Punjabis that their parents spent tons of money to come to canada. Let give you an example, Punjabi managers at lets say company X will hire and sign his/her work permit visa and make them pay $30K as a bribe. \nThese practices harm both Canadians and Punjabi young people who came for a better life. \nIn conclusion, let's not blame ALL punjabis and blame the Canadian government for allowing the crisis to develop.\nBtw, i am not an Indian but i just wanted to give a fair comment. \nTake care

I see a lot of comments which are mostly against the international students and are some racist as well. I can understand the pain of Canadian and i am also a canadian now (immigrant), It is a total mess created by the government where government used international students as the cash cow from past 7-8 Years. Its the fault of both sides but the major culprit is the government. I was a also a new immigrant to canada in 2012 and I thanks alot to the open arms welcome for the immigrants by the canadians but when you put a pinch of salt in food its taste good and its was all good until 2015-16. but the government started putting the full carton of salt in small bowl of soup which made the food bitter now not just for the canadian generation but the immigrants which moved to canada before 2016. I hope in the next coming years things will change for canadians. In the last I would, If someone don't wants to welcome me in his home then I should not enter to his home. we should respect that where ever we should go not just canada, it applies to any part of the world and to everyone.

The sensible comment- the govt is at fault, they gave too many visas, sold Canadian dream. And students they come from families who have sold their lands to pay fees to come to Canada. Trudeau and his bad policies caused this , no point in hating the students.

I'm from Mexico and I've applied to Canadian PR, but I'm seriously considering other options like Europe or Asia. I was considering Canada for to the security and better healthcare (even if I had to live paycheck to paycheck), but from the comments I'm honestly discouraged.\n\nHere in Mexico wages in IT have remained stagnant yet rent and food prices keep growing up each year. Even with over +6 years of experience I can barely afford a room in a shared apartment and just enough for food, let alone travel or save for retirement. Crime and corruption is rampant, even the safe cities have become very insecure, and gentrification is pushing way too many people into poverty.

Racism against Indians is increasing. I was born here and they treated us like dirt then and treat us like dirt now. Student visas are just an excuse to be racist. I think a lot of things get laid at the feet of government. Certainly not all the criticism is deserved, but this is.\nThey let things get out-of-hand and damned anyone as 'racist' who objected, or even commented, on their out-of-touch policies.\nI also blame the Canadian people for allowing ourselves to be intimidated by this pack of World Economic Forum idealogues.

This is ridiculous. The majority of the homeless are homeless because they don't want to work the jobs. As a greenhouse manager, the local people don't want to work the jobs that the foreign workers work which is why we are required to bring them in in the first place. I have had many local workers try working in the greenhouse only to quit within weeks because they couldn't handle the work or even the heat that is required. So how are we supposed to depend on local people to do the work? The would be a worker turnover every 3 - 6 weeks. With this program we can bring in people who WANT to do the work because its a better opportunity for them than what they have back home. This is NOT the way to fix the homeless problem. High rent, high taxes and high economic standards are the cause of eat. People cant AFFORD to buy food, pay for living costs and even survive in todays society. This foreign worker programs ALLOWS us to get the work done. \n\nForeign workers brought in on the SAWP program or even low skill program aren't stealing job, they are doing the work that Canadians don't WANT to do as they can't handle it or even believe it's beneath them. Todays youth will never do the work that these people do for us. I respect the work that they do. I would love ANYBODY in the comments below to come to my farm in the middle of summer and spend 8 - 10 hours under the sun for a week and then see what their opinion is.

I am reading the comments and it seems like most people commenting didn’t actually take the time to listen to the interview. He is calling out the government out for political and reactionary changes based on sliding poll numbers as opposed to a coherent immigration policy. He specifically says that this government allowed certain sectors to get addicted to temporary foreign workers. These changes are political as this government is more concerned with political survival than the needs of Canada and Canadians.

These Western countries including USA and Canada are more kind to illegal immigrants who cross their borders illegally from Mexico, central and South America but very harsh on Indian Students. Similar situation happened years ago in Europe and UK. Later these countries had a surge of Middle East refugees as a result of war. Now Europe in its entirety looks almost like another Middle East country with loss of its own identity and culture. My question to Canadian government is why do you want to treat Indian students who invested in your country’s economy as colonists ? Why do you treat Indian students who helped your economy with their money worse than illegal immigrants who cross your borders bringing nothing but their families ? I want to comment on something I heard Polievre said. He was mentioning a blue seal ticket for trades people who have migrated here, who hold a ticket for their trade in their home country. I guess Polievre hasnt seen the hundreds of videos on the web of the quality of safe work practice trades workers use in these countries. Their safety standard and quality of work are sub par and I think they should have to take the same training that Canadians require to get a red seal. I really hope they deport a huge number of immigrants for a couple years and then limit the amount coming in again.
