Trump has done the impossible by bringing the world together in their dislike and hatred for america and americans.

They are at the same time bringing Indian Tech Workers here to take advantage of low paid workers rather than paying American Workers decent wages.

India should not get into direct confrontation or discussions for such petty matters specially with Americans, UK, Germany, France, China, Japan, Russia, Oman, Saudi Arabia. People suggesting and raising such issues for illegal people are actually selfish , our quality of life (environment, safety, food, shelter, employment, education, basic needs) is average and not below average as portrayed in movies, tv and social media. Why should the government use tax payers money to bring illegal and greedy people and why we should show any sympathy. First be a practical and economic and security power house then go high on moral & ethical grounds.

I have spent quite a bit of time in USA and I always find my experience split. For the most part the people and places are great. As a filmmaker I have shot in NYC, California, Mississippi to name a few. The people were always accommodating and friendly. One time a gentlemen and his wife that allowed us to film in his property would bring us hot chocolate at night, then offered to shoot anyone who got in our way. I was also filming in the desert in 2009 and I almost got shot in the face by a group of police officers that charged in guns out and tempers raging, before realizing that we had film permits and were scheduled to be on site. Only to have the crew say that if I was black they would have shot first and asked questions later. As tensions rise between Canada and USA with Trump's trade war and attempt to ANNEX Canada I think I will do my filming in other parts of the world, if not in Canada. I have plenty of American friends and know a lot of Canadians that live in the US. I just hope things settle between our two nations soon. Where do you live? Interested to see what part of the States you live in.

Tyler, I am sorry for what is happening in your country because I believe there are more great people compared to the “other” that we see creeping out of their holes. I worry for your less fortunate, those depending on help from their government and have earned this right, those being tossed out for no good reason. I worry about Canada too and although we do complain about our government this is not all bad keeps them on their toes but they will fight for Canadians. I can't believe that so many young children can be seen here! That's such a dangerous situation for parents to put them in! Apply for citizenship the right way so you can bring your family safely! Then, when your family is here with proper documentation, you'll be able to raise them in security without fear of deportation. I hate to see children going through this. I waited 7 years to bring my wife over here. We have a son and he is an Americsn citizen. As long as Americans like yourself dismiss all the data to the contrary the U.S will continue to have the tragedies it does, When you look up mass shootings which is where there are more than 2 victims per incident you'll find Canada doesn't even register in those statistics because where the U.S has 600 mass shootings a year Canada hasn't had 600 in its last 100 years. So that is why Canadians mention school shootings as a reason, because the potential is real for it to happen. It is preventable tragedy but Americans as a whole need to want that change, until it does the rest of the world will always bring up gun violence and school shootings when the U.S is in the discussion. Ilegal immigrants Slowly are destroying American culture. They are bringing the same third-world problems, crimes, and language into America. If you want to go to America you must to apply a visa, documents. Also, if you think mass deportation could affect the economy, simply create more seasonal visas, allow students — including those in English language programs — to work part-time, and issue more visas for documented individuals who are not criminals with not proper documentation..

The true problem is the greed of colleges - bringing the wrong kind of international students. Remember - the same India supplies the brightest brains to the USA. Like myself - thousands of high skill STEM field Indians are finding Canada to be the North American ghetto. We had high paying jobs and comfortable life in India - we moved for better value of our taxes and overall high quality of life but we are finding ourselves surrounded by same chaos and much worse healthcare. Many like me pay 100s of thousands in taxes every year in Canada and yet find ourselves on flights to India to seek quick healthcare. Pls bring in healthcare workers and students - not the high schoolers seeking to live on Tim Horton and uber jobs for life.

Many Muslim immigrants are known to support Islamic terrorism and support groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and the Houthis, etc… These are the same people who want to bring sharia law to Canada to override our Canadian laws. This should not be allowed to happen. Look at Montreal riots and pro-Palestinian protests that call for death to Canadians, Americans and Jews. Canada needs to wake up!!

If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. Lower prices?! Of course that would be nice. Economically speaking, that means that a vast number of people want deflation. It could work in an economy not dependent on excess and consumerism, but the US economy is propped up on speculation and buying out of want rather than need. Deflation is considered an economic failure in this country. We target 2% inflation for fear that without it, people will buy less now and then there will be a downward correction on output and then jobs. \nIn any case, broad tariffs won’t be the answer to lower prices. A global economy is an efficient one, but often unfair or unkind in specific localities. The US has benefited from globalization and low cost labor elsewhere for decades. But the pendulum swung too far and now many Americans are feeling left behind. Tariffs could bring back jobs but on a 5 to 10 year timeline, not one 4-year presidential term, much less in a year.
