These are people who have decent jobs why are they allowed be refugee while we work so hard to be here officially and to pay taxes and work. This is so wrong. As a Canadian this is wrong. If it was genuine reason then it’s okay but not this way.

People complain about doctors leaving to the States for more money. But reality is, there is no job opening for new specialists finishing up fellowship. So they are pushed around diff hospital as part timer and they end up leaving. Family doctors are also pushed to become a hospitalists or to just become surgery assistant to avoid paperworks and fees that follow being family doctors. Our healthcare is becoming useless because our government is not grasping the reality.\n\nWe need more highways, a real metro system for to support its growing population with integrated infrastructure. If we need to construct more housing, make it possible for architects to build faster and make it easier to become an architect here too. What is wrong with our roads? Gardiner is being fixed and I hope not for 10years. \n\nThis government legalized drugs for taxation, but cannot control harder drugs invading our cities. Sorry--I feel the need to correct one key aspect of this story. What is happening in Poland, Baltics, and Finland (with regard to migrants) is wholly different than what is happening in Greece. Comparing the two is comparing apples and oranges. \n\nIn Poland, it is Belarus who is weaponizing irregular migration patterns to specifically challenge the EU laws and disrupt society. On the other hand, migrants coming through the Mediterranean Sea are coming of their own volition. The European Union *should* find ways to be more lenient when it comes to accepting refugees who are expressing genuine need and come organically. But aggressor countries like Belarus and Russia (who are specifically seeking to destabilize the EU) should be strongly disinsentivized from using human beings as pawns. Sure, Poles have shown anti-immigrant sentiment, but Belarussian troops have literally pushed migrants to the borders. They are causing the humanitarian situation, not the EU. \n\nTLDR: what's happening in Poland is totally different than what is happening in Greece. To equate the two is wrong.

As much as it's wrong, i don't feel sorry for anyone who OWNS more than one property and likely charges over $2k plus a month in rent. If you don't vet your tenants that's YOUR problem and if you're a grifting landlord you get what you get!

bro thought being a landlord is a money farm. the girl is in the wrong for sure but we need her side of the story to fully understand the situation. perhaps she's doing what my friend had to just to finally get the attention from the landlord to solve issues in the building. my friend had to go 8 months not paying his rent (keeping that money separately to please lawyers) just so a landlord would get in contact with him about his apartment ceiling caving in forcing the dudes family to live out of their living room. this landlord just wants to retire, i bet the building has major issues thats being ignored.

If it’s taken four years, the landlord was doing something wrong. The LTB doesn’t take four years to evict. The reporter should have been asking more questions and reporting more details.

They will get stopped at the border and be asked for documents to enter- I’m not understanding the bus schemes you are talking about! Generally if you cross the territory of another country none can stop you from using the transportation available in that country the drivers are not in the wrong here and are not obligated to check the passengers for a visa. Basically these kind of things happen when the economy is starting to go south, more crimes and scams are coming as the situation get worsen. This new era of chaos begins back since covid time, and will probably last for this decade. Hopefully, i am all wrong on this. Now is not the time to have secondary properties as an investment option when fed fund rate still around 5 % despite upcoming rate cut, and this is the time to keep investment conservative, budget tight and spending under constraint, in hope, global recession will be on soft landing.

I’m an immigrant and my sister came in with student visa. To get here, she had to prove that we had the money to sustain her housing and food needs while also being able to pay for her tuition. So tell me why students were able to come here and be homeless. What went wrong there?

Wow never know about this. Absolutely crazy this is allowed to go on. So many of us including me are living on the edge barely scraping by, and now we’re being flooded by new people who will take all the cheaper housing. Not there is any cheap housing. And sleeping in your vehicle is now being banned all over because of all the unhoused, which really puts a damper on traveling in an RV or van. My friends think this was all a grand scheme, and I’m not sure that they are wrong.
