Our nations are our homes. Our borders are the national equivalent of the walls and doors of our houses. We, our parents and grandparents have worked hard to make our nation/homes comfortable for our children and our children's children, who are, oddly enough, of the same race as ourselves. Power stations, water and power distribution networks, sewerage, buildings, mines and farms etc. did not fall from the sky.\n\nBurglars want better lives. That is why they go into other people's homes to get a share of the stuff that the residents have worked had to pay for. Modern migrants are like burglars. Our governments are giving our homes away to burglars.

This would only make sense to me if we weren't sitting on stolen land and if the West didn't mess up other parts of the world for our benefit. People are suffering and escaping situations precipitated by our governments, and we don't acknowledge our luck in being born into our circumstances. Canada, Australia, and the US can't whine while sitting on stolen land and an extensive history of colonialism. This intolerance wouldn't be as hypocritical and selfish coming from citizens of most other countries.

Here in Vancouver BC, there are some Mexicans that sub rent to another Mexicans apartments n belasements to make business out this people. 6-7 people in 1 bed apartmnet !!!!.... Canada has failed in this one.

Some people like to dunk on landlords but they forget that landlords do this as a means to make money just like any other job. As someone who also owns land, I know the frustrations of when a tenant doesn't adhere to the rules and uses the law to their advantage. It's gross. There are other people and even families who would want to have a roof over their heads yet selfish exploiters prevent such people from having a place to call home.

The ONLY way to stop mass immigration is to make these countries whole, so the people won't want/need to migrate. This means forgiving debt, facilitating business, help developing democracies. & It still costs less than these wars, etc.

Migration is not the problem. The problem is those military age men with those fancy degrees who are cowards and run away instead of building their country and make it strong, they rather get everything for free from Europe who also refuse to adapt to new culture and follow the law of the land and want Europeans to submit to them. Europe needs to send them to prison. Rather take good people who will benefit Europe with culture and knowledge.

I don't see anyone commenting on how Turkey is sending all these people to Europe. They put them on boats, send them to Europe and when they return them, they complain that Greece is kicking them out. It is a very important thing to note that despite Canada being the second largest country in the world by landmass, the vast majority of the population lives 100km from the American border because the vast majority of the land has no infrastructure to have large scale habitation. Outside of the prairies and the st Lawrence valley, there is precious little farmland to sustain people. So we import a huge percentage of our food which can also attribute to rising costs (not the only factor but it doesn’t help). Geographically, this country can’t comfortably hold more than 36 million people. Our population really shouldn’t grow beyond that unless we have infrastructure to house and feed people, which we barely do for the people that live here let alone the folks coming in. I feel like people want to make it a race issue, but that’s misguided. Canada is not America. We can’t fill our country top to bottom with people it’s logistically too difficult. We literally don’t have the resources to grow beyond that roughly 36 million cap

Same thing happening over here in Britain lack of affordable social housing with low social rents and expensive rents in the private rental sector with renters unable to make these expensive rents. Because of the aging population demographics declining birth rates governments in every country are in short supply of young people. Less and less young people and more and more aging older people. But governments has not added housing or increased the housing supply.

Without a LOT of immigration the truth is that western countries like Canada and most European countries would simply collapse in a few decades for the problem of demographic decrease... My european country of 10 million habitants is being literally 'invaded' by a huge influx of immigrants as we speak and to be honest there is no other way to make the country viable in the long term. We the western people stopped having kids decades ago and now there's no turning back...

The lady at 7:55 hit the nail on head. People blame immigrants for $3K rents. If anything, immigrants are driving down rents because they can't pay nowhere near that kind of money. The fact is that capitalism is kicking into high gear, there are Canadians who make enormous amount of money in the new digital economy, and they are paying 2 million dollars for a house or 5K rents, and that tide of affluance is lifting all the boats across. Its the very successful Canadians who are outpricing the average Canadians from living in Canada.

I understand the concern, but asking for asylum does not guarantee you to stay in Canada. Now, in marine transportation, if stoaways/crew members fleet or ask for asylum the marine transportation has to pay fees and is considered responsible for them ... its up to the company to make sure this does not happen... regardless of laws people will do this

Issues of toronto are not new. I was in toronto for few months in 2010 and I felt, it doesn't make sense to be here. This is why people prefer USA.

There are very few normal people except the dredges of society who migrate to western countries and maybe a few super super rich. The west made it so hard to jump through all the hoops that normal middle class would not want to put in the effort to degrade themselves and go west. The result is Canada and most of the west get the worst type of migrants and yet the west makes it even harder paradoxically and ends up with even more boat people!

Thanks to immigrants Canada has survived this long. Immigrants bring in much needed dollars and skills that locals don’t have. Further, immigrants are the hard working people unlike the ‘locals’ who rather than work two jobs to make ends meet, sit back and complain how bad things are. \nIf you haven’t guessed, I’m an immigrant too and have been in Canada for the past 24 years. I have contributed to the coffers and have not taken any money out from it for the past 24 years!

Why do so many millions of these people from other countries think it's our responsibility to provide them with food and housing when our own citizens are having trouble making ends meet?

Canada has a serious problem dealing with a large influx of migrants coming from India. I am American who just traveled to Toronto last week and noticed Indians are everywhere, literally everywhere. It makes me wonder why so I looked into some statistics which showed the number of immigrants coming into Canada from India is equivalent to the number of immigrants coming from many other countries combined. Immigration itself is fine but why importing so many people from one particular country India - this is the question Canadian citizens should ask their government

The wealth taken from the people, usually funneled through large mega-companies where people get many of their basic needs met, does not stay in the neighborhoods and does not go into infrastructure, jobs training, and other programs that would actually raise the standard and ease of living. \n\nInstead the wealth is concentrated, finacialized, and a small portion is given to politicians to keep the system functioning exactly as it is for the wealthy at the expense of regular people. Maybe people should start looking at the military industrial complex Eisenhower mentioned at the end of his presidency. Causing wars all over the world and then everyone wants to come to the west. Maybe stop wars in other countries so they can develop. Also have countries invest in their own education systems so they don’t have to come to the west and change the concept that western countries is where you can make it. Also, those who do come have to integrate, however, if you come from a country where there isn’t plurality and coming to a democratic society, you’re eventually going to have problems.

Honestly as an Immigrant I was definitely lied to by the country of Canada, and tbh this concern is lined with racism to an extent, but there are some valid concern for the most part. \n\nCanadian universities came to me high school, one of the academically successful high schools on my island and tried to take every single high performing student. Honestly immigrantion is an issue for everyone, but it won’t stop until the bigger western countries stop making oppressive laws forcing people out of their country. \n\nThis is not the immigrants problem, Canada is the problem. Also I lived in Toronto, the biggest issue is NOT immigration, the issue is the fact that they are tearing down cultural institutions to build condos. condos are a bigger problem than immigrants. Canada is pricing Canadians out of housing, then blaming immigrants. I'm an immigrant to Canada. I've been here for 35 years (came here when I was 6). The current immigration/migration/ayslum seeker rates have gone completely insane. It isn't racist to think it's gone overboard. I went to very very multicultural schools. I grew up in Toronto and have lived downtown for 20 years now. I love our multiculturalism but there are limits to immigration if there simply isn't an infrastructure to support countless hundreds of thousands of people trying to move into the city each year. It's not sustainable at all. The roads aren't getting bigger, the housing zoning isn't getting easier, new hospitals aren't being built. You cannot try and cram 4 million people in a city built for like 2 million people. People moving to Canada simply do not realize just how absurdly expensive this place has become. What's the better alternative being poor in India or being poor in Canada? Because unless you are making 100k a year you are going to basically be poor in Toronto.\n\nThe big big difference as someone who has lived downtown Toronto for 20 years is now the homeless are very multicultural. 10 years ago it wasn't like that as much. Now people from every race and every background are at risk of homelessness. It's a rate race, it's a very competitive city for housing and jobs and as soon as you aren't in making $$$$$ you will fall behind.

But people also forget the amount of money governments make just by issuing visas.

As a Canadian I can say I have no issue with immigrants or anyone trying to seek a better life as I am the son of immigrants. My issue is with our government taking in way more than our economy and infrastructure can handle at a time where it's already under strain. \n\nAdd to the fact they're almost all from the same race, it makes certain areas lose all diversity and a ripe ground for racist sentiments. It's not uncommon where I can be in a grocery store or restaurant and every single customer and cashier is an Indian. At the very least let's diversify where we are taking them all in from. \n\nThe cynical side of me makes me think they are desired by corporations because these people are seen as an easy resource to exploit since they're willing to put up with more and receive less.

I thought of moving to Canada too, but it felt really impractical. Canada is expensive, even to locals. This is what you get when you prioritize corporations over people, making the rich richer, and poor poorer. High rise condominiums bought by tax-evaders, and money launderers from all over the world, instead of livable communities. Happens almost everywhere in the world. I think everyone needs to live simpler, live in the province, or work from home, the cities are really getting unlivable nowadays, full of greedy corporations constantly fed by their cousins in the ranks.

This is disgusting to listen to. No country on Earth wants millions of immigrants flooding in getting welfare to the moon and being a statistic of crime cause by these immigrants. No one wants that. What makes anyone think they do? They are all going to get to vote. Just watch. They just crossed our border, got welfare better than citizens, and will get to vote. Whoever is doing this to Europe and the USA should be in jail or dealt with per the constitution for treason. Unfortunately the swamp is too much. We have too much corruption in our governments. I have no idea what it is like to be an immigrant. I can't get that perspective because I have never been one and neither has anyone in my family. But coming from my perspective this is some BS. Coming from someone who didn't have to get a work visa or apply for citizenship ever, this all seems like some BS. There wasn't this kind of migration going on when I was growing up. Where did it come from? Why is it happening now of all times? What are these people being told? Wtf is going on because a born, bred, and raised citizen is highly confused, offended, angry, and fed up.

first i am an immigrant for 20 years. i see the problem has been rising. \nthe problem is not just immigrant, its the overseas students also. Gov try to solve the issue but they are doing it blindly. the problem are those small schools that focus on making school as a business and let people get working visa. \nwe need doctors and nurses so badly. why cant we take more doctors and nursing, have universities specifically train then. we can also have golden visa and wealthy immigrants to come in . we dont just need cheap labour, we also need money. \n\ni cant wait for next election to vote this gov out!
