I learned something new today from watching this documentary, the fact that they actually named a town & a park Africville in the great white north. Some people are naive while others are not when it comes to racism. The very fact of the world has been conquered & dominated with the white supremacy mentality leave very little to be surprise that Canada had slaves. I think from what I've come to understands is that having slavery for 250 yrs most white Canadians will pretend to not be racist, but it's like those two kids in your class the one who had the paper thrown at him & the one who did it doesn't act like he did anything & the rest are just as bad because they saw who did it but are complicit by not saying anything. I’ve been followed and asked to leave even though o hadn’t had a chance to stop and shoplift...I actually called and filed a complaint for the employees behavior on that one..the store manager tried making excuses for her behavior but I asked him...should I be made to feel like I’m not good enough to go into his establishment? Why should I have to come home and look at myself in the mirror to question my clothing or the way I style my hair and makeup...and ask myself what am I doing that makes me look so unworthy..? He zipped it quickly and said he would take care of it.

I’m confused about something. \nIf there’s not many customers in the store and they’re ones that are just looking around for almost 30 minutes and theres a bunch of workers, wouldn’t they be normal to ask “Can I help you” a lot because they are bored and actually want to do something helpful at their job...? \nI used to help in a library if anybody was looking for something I’d try to help them so that they could find what they’re looking for right away instead of wasting time. If I saw anybody just browsing or wandering around for almost half an hour I would totally ask to see if I could help them. Better to try than not help at all. Why get paid to do nothing? Isn’t it your job to help? \n\nUnless I know exactly what I’m looking for and I know where it is I will ask for assistance, it’s great when they just come to me so I don’t have to track down somebody myself. That usually takes longer.

Canada has a very high standard of living, it's not exactly welcoming to people who are not familiar with that status. What killed me is she was eligible for the Working Poor Tax Credit. It goes to show how easy these rules are to exploit. It is crazy the tax credits people get and it makes it so something like close to 40% of people do not actually pay tax. Its one thing when working canadian's benefit, but not Chinese business people who come here, buy a house, maintain their status under false pretenses, then get credits for being poor.
