I was in canada 2004-8 , finished my post secondary education and returned to Kolkata , india - not to brag but I come from an asset rich household , I never had the compulsion to live there by any means .. I have family there since 97.. \nI think only financially sound people should travel to the west for education.. as from what I see canada is ruined by mass immigration

Moved to Canada in 2013. I lived in Vancouver and Toronto already. \n\nGraduated from Uni, started working and it all went to shit in 2019. Rent costs like im living in a fcking castle when its a 1 bedroom. Eating out costs like im in a michelin star restaurant when its just a low quality food with extremely limited options. Dont even make me start on taxes, which are at least 20% from\nPaycheque, 13% on any other sht u buy, so 33% if u make almost nothing. \nThis country is a shit hole. I'm currently an international student studying in Canada with the intention of staying after graduation, but after learning of the housing crises and the difficulty for foreigners to land jobs, I'm definitely now leaning more towards returning to the U.S.

They are legally entering the countries attracted by better living standard offered to them by Canadian government and that everyone in the planet has similar desire to improve one's living. The big issue with mass immigration is there has been next to no quality control. The indians that arrived a decade ago say the indians arriving today suck because they're of a different social class. A decade ago immigrating to Canada wasn't easy so anyone who did come here was typically educated and of higher quality. I think the majority of indians are good people just trying to make it but if you bring in millions just viewing them as $ cows of course there are going to be a percentage of bad ones. A greater issue with this too is now the country is in such disarray that anyone who is a potential quality immigrant might not want to come here.
