The dollar value is due to drop drastically due to the universal currency that they will rather use. Cuba was the latest to jump on board. Now 56 % of the population will get their traded goods through this organization. I predict Canada to be the next one to jump on board. This is so stupid, if trump’s solution to international affairs is to imposed tariffs on the countries who don’t bend to his will, most countries will be smart and form an alliance to just cut the u.s. out and spread the wealth within that alliance. How the world has changed. As a Business Major in the 90s, the WSJ was the guardian of Conservative thinking and held steadfast against any kind of Liberal ideas as cuckoo. for all of you in the comments trying to bash Trump talking about how this was a bad move and going to drive up prices, make enemies, etc. how do you feel now that the Colombian president has folded and is sending his presidential plane to pick them up? All this means is that USA consumers pay more for whatever Colombia exports and what consumers will need ( supermarket food produce for example) ?? It does not help US farmers who cannot deliver to super markets their field produce because Trump is deporting workers who go into the fields whom primarily collect it !!!\nTrump is basically taxing the US consumers and pushing prices up !! The US importer pays the tariffs (US customs tax at port of entry) whom then passes it onto the consumer !!\nThe consumer can of course not purchase the product which would hurt Colombia exports; the importers would have to hurriedly find another source whom would probably also increase their price because of demand.\nTrump is a loser and always will be; his businesses are mostly failures; even casinos !!

Imagine if the Border Bill had been passed in 2024 and by now we could have had this all under organized control without all of this spending so much money, time and effort in rounding people up and deporting them. This is what Dems don't understand about tariffs -- they are a negotiating tool. They're not meant to be permanent. They don't even have to go into effect at all. Just the threat of tariffs is often enough. Colombia can't survive without the US as a major trading partner. Tariffs would kill them. So, they quickly changed their tune. Like him or not, Trump understands how to negotiate. That's the difference between a President with business experience, as opposed to a President who is a lawyer and a lifelong politician.

When I read all of this, I'm damn glad that I'm German and that I've managed to build something for myself. Even if not everything is perfect here, the health care and social security are better than in many countries. Unfortunately, our problem is that too many people are now being allowed in here who pay nothing, absolutely nothing, into the social systems, but only benefit from it. Twenty years ago things looked better here.

Our public sector is bloated, it's not a matter of numbers it's all about efficiency, dropping staff numbers wouldn't necessarily make things worse, this government needs to sort out their budget and spending. This is addressed mainly to the ugly Indian: My generation came to the racist west and built a golden reputation. We worked hard, assimilated, paid our taxes, and obeyed the laws. We were humble. We celebrated our native cultures within the confines of our communities. While it was frustrating to be invisible in white culture, we never sought to conquer them with our culture. We were ethical to the hilt. Our generations were poor -- yet we struggled to help others in India and in the west. We were NEVER on the dole. Personally I think it is rude to enter a nation (in the west or anywhere in the world) with naked opportunism. Speaking for myself -- despite neocolonialism, I admired western civilization, especially its older forms. \n \nBut the ugly Indian who comes now is loud, brash, socially irresponsible, exploitative, money-hungry, opportunistic, and arrogant beyond belief (full of the hubris that comes from sudden new wealth). They look down on us who have been here a while. They are used to a servant-culture and look down on white working class people, as if they are servants. As for second generation Indians in the west, they can be racist towards us first generations. But the opposite is true as well. Indian newcomers see them as an alien species. Indians do tend to hire their own and stick to their own identities -- I do not mean the Indian identity, but their native state identities. All this feeds into the primary and secondary forms of western racism that are already simmering beneath the surface. This new genre of Indians is destroying the goodwill we have built. I have personally witnessed arrogant young Indian students cutting the line to reach the front desk. No manners, no ethics. As a first generation Indian immigrant I get annoyed. Its not just an employer issue though, these corporations see dollars, the rest of us see taxes, overflowing school,s lack of teachers, lack of translation supports, lack of hospital systems, lack of housing , food bank runs as wages cannot support cost of living, homelessness crime and drug use. Disruption of neighbourhoods with 10-15 people piling into suburban homes and messing it up. They should not be here until the foundations are set. What new infrastructure is planned by these departments and on whose bill? Is it started yet as constructions are 5 years out . Canadians have been left behind by their own country in favour of Indians. Canada as we know it is done, it is in severe decline and the quality of life of all Canadians has suffered from this influx. At old age homes, Canadians are being passed up and made homeless in favour of new immigrants (all Indians), all low income jobs have been taken by Indians, locals youth can't get jobs. Indians are super racist towards white or latino people (like me), and they are not taking up Canadian customs and manners. Canada is being ruined by Indians.
