I feel so sad about this new order regarding immigrants. So many of these people have hopes and dreams the same as we do. Basically, everyone in CANADA is or was or is a descendant of Immigrants. Where do we as CANADIANS get off saying who can and cannot enter CANADA when the land was basically stolen, to begin with. We are descendants of theft of stolen land that's what we are.

Shame on those in here whining about what they don't get that refugees get. We have access to all of that and more. Did you know that the basic needs that are provided to refugees or immigrants must be paid back to the government? They get a loan, we don't just give people money because they want to live here. Once they get their SSN and are deemed fit(usually means they speak and write English) for work they are required to find work. Many come from war torn countries or unable to provide food for their children or a safe place to live. Are you that unfeeling you don't want to help them? Canada used to be compassionate and helped others. It wasn't so long ago that our relatives immigrated here for a better life.

I thought the US and Canada had a legal agreement not to accept immigrants coming to Canada from the USA? I have no problem people seeking asylum and I feel we have a duty to process them. I have a problem if they come through the US as they should be processed there and applying for immigration to Canada.

Our politicians have allowed Canada to become a default destination for so called refugees who are more often economic migrants looking to benefit from Canada's largesse. With such massive numbers of immigrants and refugees entering the country, we should not wonder why affordable housing and rental units are increasingly difficult to find for the existing population and why our social and health systems are overwhelmed.

Well it's about time they closed it down, they brought all these immigrants in put them up an expensive hotels well we have our Canadian people living on the streets in tents. Where any of these immigrants and immigrants before them search for bringing in drugs like Fentanyl, and now the new drug trank.

Although I've been against illegal immigration (but NOT legal immigration), we have got to realize that it is the politicians of our day who have caused this problem, not the immigrants. If you were given a promise of a better life than you currently have, with no strings attached, wouldn't you take it? The current politicians RULING Canada (not governing) have allowed this situation to continue only so as to line their political pockets with people willing to thank them by voting for them in the next election. Canadians be damned ... the politicians could care less about you or me.

There is a huge backlog on legal applications for a lots of immigrants who applied legally, families torn apart and have long weight. They are already in the USA, there are sanctuary cities, New York was just dumping them off there. We tax payers are flipping the bills for them while so many Canadians are living on the streets. Those who are mad and outrage by this, you can go ahead and sponsor them, that mean you are legally responsible for all their expenses. As Canadians, even when we cross the border we got to have our passport and we go through a lots of scrutiny. Fill out the paperwork and wait to be processed, because right now we are already in crisis with lodging and food. USA is the one who must take care of those who cross their borders.

Man , it's about time. Has anyone else noticed that a majority of crimes in Canada over the last couple of years , have been committed by people who have unpronounceable names , and darker complexions. To me , they are obviously immigrants and possibly ones who walked into Canada unvetted and disappeared who knows where. We only need skilled immigrants who enter Canada the proper way. I keep saying it, the Government of Canada should poll resources with the USA, Build huge biodomes up north near Churchill or something... minimizing the risk of escape. Keep them there for two years while they work in the biodomes tending crops in the biodomes, while being educated in the form of teaching them our ways and speak English and French, If after two years they have not been able to, pack them in a plane and ship them back to where they came from and let their own government take care of them.

Where are these millions of new immigrants going to work? Since the election of Liberals, Canada has had the slowest growing economy in the industrialized world! The world expects Canada's lacklustre performance to continure for the next 20 years. So are these new immigrants coming with suitcases full of money to invest in new companies? Are the skilled tradesman coming from developed nations with similar building codes and material or from countries that build houses without any codes or inspection? Do the Medical Doctors receive the same education as 1st world doctors or are they like doctors in most developing and 3rd world countries where they enter medical school straight from Grade 11 and graduate 4-5 years later with a medical degree and their medical experience is all with 3rd world diseases? OR what is more likely is that these new immigrants will have to go back to school (paid for by Canadian taxpayers) to bring their education and skills to the minimum level of Canadians? It will take the average new immigrant 6-10 years before they are making a net positive contribution to the Canadian economy. This would be affordable if our economy was outpacing other industrialised nations OR if we had fewer immigrants but this is a strategy for bankruptcy. My prediction is that the Canadian dollar will be $0.60 USD within 5 years or less. My recommendation is start moving your savings and retirement funds to the USA.

And United States we have a huge immigration problem that needs to be dealt with. We take in almost fifty percent of the world's immigrants it's unsustainable. Regardless of your political affiliation. It's just common sense like literally any other country in the world to protect its borders. That being said most of our Southern immigrants a simulate pretty well to u.s. cultural standards and actually take a lot of pride and they start their lives in this country

Personally, I have zero issue with immigrants..but you must do it legally, PERIOD! Once you cross a border illegally YOU are now a criminal by law and SHOULD be treated as such & immediately deported. We all have suspicions as to why a certain political group allows this to happen though & it’s to the detriment of actual Americans. Meanwhile legal immigrants are suffering extended delays in their applications and extensions, many of which already have jobs or have employment waiting for them in Canada. Well Canada is a great country, my grand parents were able to get here in 1957 with their 3 kids, after going through and surviving WWII, work in Europe was scarce and employers were abusing their workers everywhere. My dad was one of those 3 children's, he met my mother here, they had me and my sister. Today i have 3 boys of my own and my sister has 2 girls. Canada has any country as their plusses and minuses, but i wouldn't live anywhere else. I've lived my whole life on the south shore of Montréal, worked in and around Montréal for 35 years. Never ran out of work as long as i was willing and able to work. I've worked in all my life, 65% immigrants and 35% Québecer's. There both are kinda racists in some way and they have there own reasons as well. I was bullied in school till i was 11 years old, i had an accent and dressed differently since my dad made our clothing. Being ridiculed, pushed, punched etc, and then one day the bully of the school approached me and wanted to fight me. I was scared, everyone else were laughing, so i clenched my fist and punched that kid right on the nose. Everyone got quiet and the principal came out, we went to his office and then he asked me straight away : Are you gonna do this again or was it a one time thing ?? I said it will be one time thing unless someone else wants to fight me again, then i will have to defend myself again. He said ok and now go back to class, and that was that. But in the 1970's with the augmentation of people moving here after WWII, people in Canada were scared immigrants would steal their jobs etc. My grand father worked all his life till he died at 82 years old. Worked 6 days a week, 12 to 16 hours a day. My dad had worked all his life 70 hours a week and sometimes 85 hours a week. People complaining about doctors or hospitals, a lot are going in for a cold, the flu, headaches etc, for sure take 2 aspirin or tylenol and stay home, no need to see a doctor for that. If you have a broken limb or were in an accident, you go right in and get fixed up without issue really. Any country as it's inconveniences in the end ?

I'm tired of people immigrating here and complaining about how it is. A lot of Canada's problems have been caused by the influx of immigrants moving here over the last 20 years. A literal shock to the Canadian system in EVERY way. Toronto is now 50% 1st Generation Canadians. A 2020 report showed out of 35 million Canadians, 8 million were immigrants... but yet people immigrate here, then have the audacity to complain. Like seriously, why move here then?... AND CALL US RACIST?! Like we didn't just let you move here? Like we're not a Country that's been built on Multiculturalism and Respect. Like we don't hold the highest immigration rate in the world. Like we don't have laws that protect people from it. How does your home country treat minority groups? How does it protect them?

I’ve watched the video and I’ve read many comments. My message it’s to immigrants, Canadians & everyone. Just be some patient to read for you to think reasonable after this. I’m sure you’ll start to be reasonable regarding Canada. I had a good life good job & a nice home in Ukraine. Due to the barbarian russian invasion my family & I fled the horrific situation in Kharkiv city. I was driving a mini bus of 4 families! Most are children. We’ve arrived to Europe. Crossing many countries (Poland, Czechia & Austria) we’ve arrived to the country leading the EU. In Poland & Czechia, we’re treat very good by the people. In Austria we got hardly a payed hotel where children could get a rest!!! We still didn’t understand why they don’t want to give us rooms despite we’re paying for our staying!!! In Germany, I believe that the government did its best. But the number of comers is huge! Of course many they got disappointed as happened with me! But I still understand and believe that really the government & people did theirs best. So fast I got a job! The social connection helped to introduce me to the company! But i was not hired, I still to express myself & my qualifications. The manager was understanding, so he accepted to communicate in English and to offer me the job in case if I am successful doing the job during the first week at the site. I had to change the machines menu into English. So the manager was very satisfied with my job and I got that job. The rent! You’ll get it only if you receive the blessing of each member of the county and a very strong social connections! The doctors! To make just a blood work for my son it took 45 days of waiting! To get the doctor appointment, you need that a German guy call and get you the appointment! Because when my wife called, the secretary said: we don’t speak English! But when my wife went for her visit she figured out they’re speaking English better than her!!! My son has an issue of hyperactivity, so they refused to accept him at school more than 3 hours a day! Well everyone, the option is to go into a system like the United States has , which incidentally is far from perfect itself, my spouse was in emergency for five hours last Saturday night before anyone looked at her, , which the system will spiral in to a business and if you think you have problems now, just wait till what’s down in the future. As a Canadian who has lived in the United States the last seven years, our good family healthcare is $1270 US a month, which incidentally has a $1000 deductible and a 10% co-pay on everything we experience, and trust me an MRI scan ( yes , just a scan, not surgery) for your brain is costed out at $7000, so be prepared to pay your deductible and 10% of it along with all the other attending doctor charges, even with good healthcare at 1270U.S. a month ! That monthly healthcare premium is almost $1600 a month Canadian. Canadians complain about taxes being too high also, but that is my profession, and when you round out the two , there may be 2 to 3% adjusted for the exchange rate higher and you still get a lot greater bang for the buck. Also, your higher education in the United States is easily 2 to 3 times of what you’re paying for in Canada. I know it’s not optimal, however trust me you still have it good in Canada, I find so many immigrants complain about it when they come to Canada, Yet they are living in a relatively safe and secure country, just a little bit of appreciation would be nice. Is it always what I can get, how about maybe what you can give? Maybe the answer for everyone and candidates to start to pay to go see a doctor if you can have the doctors availability, that is the sad truth, and I’m quite sure people will not like that by any means when they see the charges.
