This is why I'm leaving Toronto! If we went to India and did what they do here, it would never work. Yet they want us to change our ways for them, but they treat the people that aren't Indian like trash. Personally think it's getting ridiculous.

I agree, the high prices of daily spendings on food and groceries is due to lack of competition.\n\nI realised this even in Europe ,particularly France. There is absolutely no logic behind those high prices of daily items in France when people can easily move to warmer climates, live in world class modern cities like Singapore or some city in China or those in South East Asia and spend much, much less on those without compromising on real quality.\n\nWhat i mean by real quality is maintenance of quality which ensures proper sampling and testing of those items are conducted regularly and proper rules are followed in production and business and consumers are protected from health hazards and sabotage. I think most of the rest are just unnecessary decorations in name of maintenance of quality. That is wrong on so many fronts , biggest is on business ethics and it hammers on any kind of Christian value which i know of.\n\nOligarchy or monopoly is a major problem i feel. Compared to france , Germany appears much more on right track from outside though I do not have personal experience.

They think that the whole world will understand and respect their religious beliefs like India but now they will know the difference between India and western countries

You know when someone just talks and within seconds you know that what they are saying is true . I’d like to say we are the weight but we are not in control . If what “we” were doing was right, would we need propaganda? The real question is Canada vs Florida because the U.S. consists of many mini countries that have agreed on a common constitutional document and basic laws but otherwise are different countries. With that said Canada loses on every metric that matters to Florida. From economics to taxes to business to self defense and personal property Florida wins. The U.S. is secular but politicians of all nations will bring it up to some degree thinking this is somehow unique to the U.S. means you don’t understand the U.S. When it comes to political and religious diversity the U.S. has a larger population consisting of the entire world its by definition diverse. Canada doesn’t have sensible gun laws it just leaves those who can’t defend themselves at great risk.\n\nCrime is high in cities that have laws & culture closer to Canada than they do the U.S. Which have the strictest gun laws in the country. It’s bad politics & culture which are most similar to Canada that has resulted in higher crime rates. \n\nGun laws in the U.S. are for Americans to have the option to fight against a tyrannical government like we have scene in Canada with the truckers and mass freezing of bank accounts. That is what the right to bear arms was for first and foremost not just self defense. Canada ignores this entirely and instead has the perspective of give the government all the power and expect government to be “good” and act in good faith to the people which it has continually failed to do so. Canada has to bribe Quebec just to keep its country together something that has been an issue since the founding of Canada is parts of it breaking off due to tyrannical federal government power abuse.\n\nFreedom comes with risks but it’s always better to be free.\n\nPeople who leave the U.S. for Canada are doing so for political reasons otherwise they can leave their blue progressive crime filled cities for free cheap safe red states.\n\nI encourage all Canadians to search moving from Canada to Florida and you will find many Canadians that realized the American Dream. Canada’s statistics are no different than Australia, USA and France for example in terms of homelessness and home ownership. Our foreign born population is about 20% -Australia it’s 22% - the USA the most immigrant fearing nation around has only 13% - that’s something to strive for lady!. \n\nCanada needs immigrants and lots of them to fill positions Canadian borns are too posh to do. \n\nWorld wide interest rates are high, housing developers are running into delays with things like world wide shortages and local communities having long convoluted permit processes, and volatile prices for home construction materials etc. \n\nWe Canadians are happy to buy from Chinese and USA manufacturers to the point we depend yet again on global markets. \n\nThe bottom line is the Provinces have authority over housing and haven’t wanted the Federal Government to butt in at all. OK, I just watched the same video but about Ireland. I get it. There's a housing crisis, I guess, everywhere? I know there's one in the US, even in formerly unpopular areas like New England. Can someone explain this to me like I'm a small child or a golden retriever? AFAIK, there wasn't a population boom in the last 50 years. There WAS for the baby boom. There's nothing wrong with immigration as long as it's controlled, people enter legally and do what it takes to adapt to the host countries' values. I'm from India too; I fully support nationalism, irrespective of the country; it isn't racist, as the media likes to push that narrative. The sense of community is reducing because I think there's this wall between ethnic groups. The only way to tear down the wall is to have the immigrants adapt to the host country's culture and values.\n\nI have a cousin who moved to England, and she bought a home in a predominantly white neighbourhood. As a Canadian who can trace is lineage to the early Saskatchewan settlers, many of the negatives experienced by immigrants are also experienced by those born here. \n\nIt’s ALWAYS been insanely difficult to find a well paid job here. Unless you know someone inside the organization who can pull you in, you’ll have an uphill battle. Just thinking about all the anti family issues in North America that white Canadians face like abortions, LGBTQ, divorce, men preferring to stay single. Believe, you, me, almost every safety class I took, whether it was with small trucking companies or big ones like Canada Cartage, I saw the male Indian students taking the class in a non-serious manner. They didn’t act like they cared. They were simply sitting there, cracking jokes, screwing around, saying stuff like \n\n“Who cares about this safety class? Just get the load, drop it off and that’s it.”\n\nBut when they get into accidents, they’re sitting their with their jaws dropped and pants down\n\nAnd I’m. When these Indians moved here, they are not adapting themselves to Canadian culture, instead, they are forcing Canada to adapt their Indian culture. There are also a lot bad habits Indians have brought here to Canada with them. One day I was buying food in a local store, and these Indians who ran the store wanted to charge me extra (like 15-20% on top of labeled prices and taxes). I said no, they said I have to buy it because they can't put the food back. Then I demanded they honor the prices the items were labeled, and they said no again while trying to lie by stating the extra was part of tax. Then suddenly one of them snatched the money I was holding and trying to put in the register before I could react. Lucky I was faster and grabbed my money back. I left right after, but now when I think about it, I should've probably called the police there because that was literally attempted robbery. These Indians got no honesty in running businesses, and whenever a local business is taken over by them, it would be downhill for that business due to ethics and honesty issues. They also tend to only hire their fellow Indians, which is completely unfair to local Canadians. For example, I've worked with Filipinos before, they are decent people and they give everyone a fair chance during hiring regardless ethnicities. However Indians tend to only care for their own, and that is absolutely destroying Canadian societies. This is Canada, Canadians should be first, then immigrants, and lastly foreign workers/students.

Very disappointed in Pierre Pollieve over this one issue. They need to go back to India. We don't need competition for food, housing, and jobs. Aren't things bad enough right now without the pressure of all these so called students ? Pierre what are you thinking ? Kindness and compassion us Canadians have . Thanks Trudeau, soon enough we will be able to walk across lake Ontario, just like the Ganges. @10:21, the suspects in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, being Kamalpreet Singh, Karan Brar, and Karanpreet Singh all have Punjabi names, just like the victim and a CBC article, dated May 7, 2024 stated that a Punjabi interpreter was brought in for the testimony of Karanpreet Singh, so he's certainly Punjabi. It's a stretch to imagine that Punjabis (likely Sikh) would be cooperating with the Modi government (Hindu) to assassinate Nijjar, given that the Khalistani movement base is Punjab. Does anyone else think that these 3 men in their early 20s look too old for their ages? They look to be in their mid-30s. Maybe someone, like the RCMP, should verify their identities. \n\nAs for the other murders, I'm not surprised. The gurdwara violence and rivalry has been going on for decades. There's tension between the turbaned, religious and non-turbaned, secular Sikhs, who still identify as Sikhs as a cultural identity. I don't think it is unreasonable to set aside political motivations for the murder of Nijjar to consider straight up narcissistic psychopathy as the root of the problem. I think even the foreign student protests discussed in this video show an extraordinary sense of entitlement and exploitation of PEIs student visa policies. Can someone explain to me why foreign students on visas DON'T require police record checks? That seems like a little more than just a stupid oversight, or misplaced trusts.

They are not Canadian citizen's, what entitlement. Our country should not allow other countries people to come to Canada for school then think they can just stay. All international student's should have to go back to their countries by law. If they want to apply from their own countries go ahead as they then will have to have back ground checks like any other person who wants to come to Canada.

Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

You cant just blame federal or JT for this issue. Provisional governments are equally responsible as well. They allowed mass international students due to their (provincial) going down economy for various factors. They made false promises to students that students can get PRI in less than a year, otherwise do you think students were willing to go to these cold areas to study without any benefits? You made a promise, now its time to fulfill.\n2. International students funds the college/school by paying fee 3 times more than a Canadian one. There was no check and balance from provincial governments on school/colleges, because they liked the inflow of $$$ within their provinces.\n3. Totally agree with you that fake students should not be getting any merci. But are all the fake students from India, not really. Both the federal and provincial governments were allowing more Indian students because they wanted to have more economic ties with Indian growing economy. \n4. Punjabi (including Sikhs) is one of the best marshal races to serve in army or security agencies. Our Canadian officials never hire personals without a proper security check. \n5. Khalistan's supporters are adapting a peaceful way for their freedom land. As far they are peaceful, we should not have any issue with their struggle. Just like we do not have issues with Quebec separatists. \n6. Remember, majority of Canadians are immigrants from various part of the globe including you as well, weather you are coming from 3rd, 4th or 5th generation. Its easy to spread hate compare to love. I love you and other my fellow Canadians even though I may not be a TRUE Canadian in your books. \n\nYou may be surprised that a Pakistani born (non-Punjabi) Canadian is supporting Indian students. Protesting in another country where you are a student is not allowed and the act itself can get you deported. However, the scams the Canadian colleges and universities do in countries like India and Pakistan is terrible. These students pay almost double the money local kids do. They r most times highly qualified and have availed of an opportunity offered by these institutes. When such things happen, its obvious that they are unhappy. I think the Indian government needs to start issuing advisory. I don't think its worth it, I wish people understood this. The US, Germany/Europe,UK even Australia is much different. Believe it or not, a lot of these students wish to pay back student loans and get out of this scam. Canada is beautiful, but the amount of scams here, prepostrous.

I think the main objective of “international student “ program is being ignored and lost here. The objective of bringing “international students” to a country is for them to study and after they finish their studies to go back to their country. Isn’t that the case? Absolutely, there should be no other expectations.Then why are they even entertaining this nonsense. Unless they want to use the “International student” program as a backdoor to enter and work in Canada, and it looks like that’s the case. They finished their “studies” they need to go back to their home country.

I think we all understand that if we try to pull stunts like this in other countries as Canadians I think we understand what would happen to us right we will be put on the first boat back to the home country
