Hi Jason. I thank you so much for putting up your time and sharing so much information here. My question is, once you'll be landed as a PR, how will the process start? should I stay in Canada till all documentation complete? is there any documents will I hold to proof that I am a PR? like us here in UAE we are all holding an Emirates ID. Thanks for your time to answer all of my grey areas. Cheers - Delvi

The biggest issue for me as a person of colour is the systemic racism in the workplace, society, healthcare, housing. I’m still seen as a 2nd class citizen and denied the ripe opportunities only reserved for white Canadians. Even though I’m now a Canadian citizen myself and highly educated, there is still that double standard. You will love Canada if you’re white, but if you’re not, be prepared for daily micro-aggressions, demoralizations, constant rejection and harassment. As an example, I walked in with a white man to get my COVID shot. I faced so much resistant and questioning while he in the exact same position as me, got through fine. Don’t get me started at when I’ve been accused of stealing in a grocery store by a Karen. The colour of your skin is still very much a differentiator even in the metropolitan cities like Toronto/Vancouver.

I'm Canadian and think the biggest issue is a lack of infrastructure. Even in a lot of major cities, things you'd expect to see like subway stations, corner markets, or arcades are uncommon. It's hard to find a job when there aren't many places to work, and it's hard to afford things when it's difficult or expensive to ship those things from place to place. Immigration could boost our population so we can better tackle these issues, but our system forces immigrants to start from scratch. That doesn't provide immigrants with much reason to choose Canada instead of the Netherlands, the USA, Singapore, or some other country.

I like how they always glance at each other at the start. subtle running gag?

those people just don't get mad over nothing.... this woman is making it look like he's bad. talking about what he should be doing. why wouldn't he do it if the other party got everything needed? we need to know what happened before the woman started recording. otherwise it's just a drama stage

Great video. I am currently live in Czech Republic, but would like to move to Canada to get some life experience, improve my language skills. I would like to stay here for few years. But I do not know where to start, finding apartment, job, etc.

In some cases, I was victim of racism here in Canada and this is what I just did: I speak in French instead to the aggressor; I have done that many times and usually it works; if it is like this indirect form of racism (much more frequent) where a “local” or even sometimes some Immigrants try to look down in me, I just called a friend of mine (who is usually free) and start to chat loudly in french with him!! And believe it or not, my French accent is 99% close to perfection although I do not look like a white French guy… but see… this is exactly why it is very amusing as you can barely imagine how most people act by seeing me talking in French!! Just say something like “… je reste pour une année en plus ici au Canada (make sure you say Canada to attract their attention) Et après je bouge sur Paris….”

I am ex-PR of Canada, who left Toronto after 5 years and half. When it comes to job experience, I had Canadian, academic experience from top tier place and still after sending CV in 200 places and C1 level English I got 5 responses as I bad in networking. My experience was good enough for Cambridge UK and Zurich, Switzerland. As for climate summer heat was worst. Also cultural differences, yes... I miss Toronto sometimes but now realised I should stay in Switzerland, which is not my home country. What can I say, challenges like cultural differences or new places may not see so hard from hard country but then reality check starts.

Thanks U.S.A. Even tho I dont like you as a country, you would probably look on to us if a war ever started. ?? + ?? = family

As a born and raised Canadian I have seen the country become more of a place to park real estate money than a functional society in the past 20 years. Most of my friends, born and raised here too, can't even start families in their 30s a lot of the time, so I cannot even imagine what it would be like for a new immigrants. Our government basically lures immigrants here as a tax raising scheme and doesn't care much for what kind of quality of life they have.

I totally disagreed with your points in starting of the video. But at the end thanks both of you being open.Good work. All the things you guys said are true.I would like to say about healthcare. If you work enough in one career in almost 3 years you can find an employer who gives full benefits. Also about career change I believe and its just my understanding that your can change career any time in your life.I came as a student did masters and shifted from engineering to law enforcement. That being said i agree with your point of how every single person perceive the new culture, climate and their own goals significant to them.\nAll in all thanks for the video??

I live and study in Canada, but I'm planning to leave after I finish my studies. I've never really like here. People are cold, the weather is cold too and it's starting to become more and more expensive to live here.

Its not true .. it drops to -20 but still not freezing cold like madrid in spain ..\n\n\n2- loneliness ( it depends on your behavior ) and how you treat people ! \n\n3- hard to find a job ? Its not true .. \n\n4- starting from scratch ? Might be true and it happens whenever you go .. specially to a new country \n\nSorry guys your information is nonsense and came from a personal experience ! Canada is not perfect but i have been to 30 countries im sure u havent lived in 10 countries as i did and i have seen alot .. Canada still one of the best countries . Thanks

you know, i live about and hour and a half below the border, in arlington wa, and we get alot of canadians coming down. ive never been up to canada really but it seems that buisness isnt as busy. not as many coffee shops or fast food to work at. in america, everyday starts, and it picks up speed, and ROARS. canada, a little bit slower. in america you can get a bunch of people together and go wild and yell and laugh and do stupid stuff and evyone is like hey, those guys got it figured out.

Thanks for making this video. After nearly 13 years as of Jan 1st 2022, I'll be leaving Canada on a one-way ticket; not to my country of origin, but further into new ventures.\n\nIt's been a slog to become a citizen and try and make life work here. It's a good place to be successful financially if you make sound choices, and then to live a fairly quiet, isolated life. If all you want is to live within your own ethnic community and have a better quality of life, it's a good place.\n\nUnfortunately, it's never had enough culture or meaning for me. Life feels pretty empty no matter how much money you make. The national identity being based around home-ownership feels extremely depressing to me.\n\nAnd you're both on point about the reserved, passive-aggressive nature of Canadians. I've become like that too now. It's pretty obvious that it costs us dearly; people are unable to be genuinely warm, to take risks and form real friendships. Everything feels surface-level because no one risks taking the steps that might even be a bit of intrusion into each other's lives that is the signal of the start of a close friendship. I'm sick of the surface relationships I've had here.\n\nAnd the wholesale import of U.S. narratives with complete ignorance of our own realities. Most Canadians think they live in the U.S. and seem unable to name a single important issue in their own province or country. I truly came to see the Canadians as a colonized people who refuse to truly admit that they are colonized behind a thin veneer of insecurity posing as a virtue-superiority complex.\n\nI sound harsh but it's the outpouring of someone who's fallen in and out of love with his country.\n\nI don't know what I will find on the other side, but it's going to be different and I honestly can't wait.

I know Canada is not perfect and I find you’re a bit hard on the red maple leaf... just because you don’t find the same things as your native country. It’s like\nfrench people coming from France, going to Quebec province an complaining about the food, the weather etc... well we’re not France, sorry to say! But I can\ntry to understand your situation; it’s probably inevitable that the comparison between your country and Canada would show up eventually. I see regularly \nimmigrants moving here and it’s true that it’s not easy. (Some people will have to be cab drivers because they can’t find work in their field). But you have\nopportunities if you work hard. I have the example of a Russian truck driver who move here with his family (wife, two kids). The man started by working for\na general transport company, then was able to buy his own truck. Now he’s able to work with whoever he wants. So I think every experience is different.\nOne other thing I noticed is that for families coming here it will always be easier for kids (even teens) to adapt quicker then their parents. I live in the east\n(the maritimes) and there is not very large cities. Some immigrants that come here will stay for a while but then they would move to a larger city (like\nToronto) because that city must have the most ethnic diversity in Canada. For cultural differences true that Canadians are like Americans in the «none»\nfashion trending. It’s a different mentality then Europe because over there fashion is a statement; you are judge on your appearance. Here, not as much.\nIt shows you don’t like winter and if you don’t your not a real Canadian! :-) Don’t generalize, a lot of people here like winter. And for taxes I don’t have a clear\nexplanation other then we have a huge empty country that needs roads, infrastructures, etc. and someone has to pay for it! (fun fact, all the population\nof Canada could fit in a country like Poland... it shows how empty it is here). Finally, and I heard this many times, maybe the people or the part of the\ngovernment to blame is Immigration Canada. Maybe they give to much of an idealistic image of Canada! I truly hope that all will be fine for you here.\nDon’t forget that you can make a change to the society; if you don’t like it, you can make it better! Cheers! (Sorry for this long message)

DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE COMING TO CANADA ! PEOPLE THINK THAT THEY HAVE A PHD,THEY ARE DOCTORS,DENTISTS AND THEY WILL START RIGHT AWAY WORKING..\nIN THE HEALTH CARE SIDE,PEOPLE WILL BE ACCEPTED RIGHT AWAY IF THEY CAN'T FIND A CANADIAN PERSON THAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR...I KNOW CASES WHERE THEY\nCAN'T FIND A SPECIALIST THEY WERE LOOKING FOR AND THEY HIRED SOMEONE FROM FRANCE...YOU ARE RIGHT WHEN YOU SAY THAT PEOPLE ARE NOT INTERESTED\nIN GOING BACK TO UNIVERSITY.SMART PEOPLE GO BACK TO UNIVERSITY AND THEY DO WELL.MY COUSIN WAS A DOCTOR IN MY COUNTRY WHERE SHE IS PAID ABOUT\n$700 PER MONTH DECIDED TO GO BACK TO UNIVERSITY.NOW,SHE IS EARNING AROUND $25 000 PER MONTH..THERE ARE A LOTS OF DOCTORS IN MY COUNTRY AND IF\nGET SICK OVERTHERE I WIL PREFER TO BUY A TICKET AND FLY TO FRANCE INSTEAD OF SEEING A DOCTOR THERE...BEFORE YOU MOVE TO CANADA,DO YOUR HOMEWORK..\nTHE OTHER IS THAT A LOTS OF PEOPLE THINK THAT WHEN THEY ARE HERE IN CANADA THEY WILL FIND THE SAME WAY OF LIFE LIKE THEIR COUNTRY ?????\nAS THEY SAY ,WHEN YOU GO TO ROME,DO LIKE ROMANS...YOU GO TO CHINA,TO JAPAN,TO RUSSIA,TO US ,IT'S UP TO YOU TO ADAPT TO THE MAJORITY AND NOT THE\nOTHER WAY..WHEN I CAME HERE,I KNEW THAT I HAD TO ADAPT TO THE CANADIAN WAY OF LIFE AND I MADE IT..I WAS LUCKY TO STUDY IN A CANADIAN UNIVERSITY\nAND I WAS CONSIDERED LIKE A TRUE CANADIAN...I MET AND KNEW THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OF ALL WAYS OF LIFE LIKE :MINISTERS,JUDGES,LAWYERS,DOCTORS,\nTEACHERS AND YOU NAME IT...

I totally agree with your video.\n\nI am European, and l have been living in Canada for 7 years, including 4 years in Toronto 2 years Ottawa and now In Montreal.\n\nWhen l arrived in Canada l started from the scratch in order to get Canadian experiences and improve my Eng, undestanble and l accept as new comer.\n\nI come back to college in order to get Canadian Educatiom post graduate program. \n\nI got my Canadian Citizenship, l am improving my French, as we know its important to be Bilingual in Canada.\n\nSo far after all this steps l didn't find my perfect and dreaming job, harder to find well paid job and stable.\n\nSometime l feel l loose my time here. I learned the well paid job need strong connection, no well paid or low income for new comers. That why Canadian Gov. need new immigrant .\n\nCanada its not country for opportunity for every one, and it is not well being city, cost the life its extremely hight, renting in Toronto and Vancouver are impossible to manage specially like me single, social life a little boring and trashy compare Europe.\nHigh cost to travel domestically and internationally are crazy, compare euro and USA, so sometime l feel stocks here.\n\nProbaly someone after read my comments, they think why you here? Come back you home country? \n\nWell l could but l have to start again from scratch in my country, l say l am in the limbo now.....

Every country needs a leader like Trump or macron or maybe modi coz Islam is the real threat to the world peace. People should stop giving them relief even if they start doing protest as much as they want. If they become the majority in ur own country, u will pay the heavy price and ur country will be doomed and turned into third world

Ashir, I like you, you talk well. I would add my opinion here you are still angry about Pakistan. Yes so much is wrong in Pakistan but again so much is wrong in Canada. And equally so much is right in Canada and we all know so so much is right in Pakistan. My advice, chose your wrongs and rights carefully and wisely.\nFor viewers a hint, listen to his advice and try to practice all he says while living in Pakistan. You have almost a head start of 3-5million pkr ( which generally is consumed before immigrating/settling in Canada). Life is tough every where but tough doesn't mean sad and gloomy it can be fulfilling and rewarding whether Canada etc. Or Pakistan.

What I came to realize in life is that people don’t really like you, they like your talent/skills. take your time to be skilled in something and people will hunt down your skills. this applies mostly to all people based on statistics. if you are white and you ain’t skilled, you will be fired. as simple as that. businesses want to make money. so if you are black and you have what it takes, businesses will hunt you down since they will realize that they need your skills. I have learned that from Thomas Sowell and it has freed my mind as a young black man. I am a scientist ( I aspire to be the best one ) and I have started to reap what I sow. stop trying to make people feel sorry for you. work hard, get skills that are needed in the society and the rest will take care of itself. Also, you gotta hold yourself on high standards as a human being and you will be a blessing to the community. have a wonderful day y’all. love one another. we are the same race ( human race ) with simply different skin colors. just like FLOWERS of different colors. we need to change our mindset and things will be better for sure.

Aslaamo alaikum\nDear Ashir i have listened you carefully but the thing i think is, how can a man like me get migrate from Pakistan to Canada?\nI am a driver now, before this i had spent 50 years of my life in jobs since i was 19. I got my education upto F.Sc., due to separation in parents i had started to do jobs and still in struggle to make my kids educated. When you disclose the reality about difference between two countries please think 1% or may be sum bit, people like me feel that they are failed by the word KISMAT and you understand who make Kismat. I feel heavy heart while i had struggled for better but never got success just because i am from those who are really poor and more over belongs to a community which never been stoped to be discriminated. I am very much upset in trying to be truthful just to see most of whom had a corrupt money or ethic they get success and rate it by adding that Pakistan left no values nor else what. I know Allah is every where and sees every moment for his creature spent in living a life without any luxury or normal and always put in struggle with an end of this life. I request you to tell the truth that don't make decisions as one wants but remain calm that Allah will give you better in after life. If you feel that you didn't understand what i want to say you can mail me, my id is mfarooqaslam1@gmail.\nPlease don't feel bad i am v much sorry if so. I have pain and waiting for end of this as per Gods will.\nRegards and gratitude\nFarooq.

I m from Lahore. Running my own business last year i made around 6 million pkr profit. And I started my business 3 years back. With lot of hard work and consistency i am able to make it and is hoping to increase it further. But after watching your videos i discussed my intention to try for Canadian Immigration with my wife.\nIs it worth trying for it?\nThe only reason is even after making good money you are ensalved to system. We work with different gov offices like fbr, customs and PRA. There attitude is pathetic that is why we have to work middle men and pay him commission. Moreover i m not able to adjust in this environment. The school system is pathetic. I don't like private schools and how they are looting middle class parents. Same is with Doctors. One of my friend who have well established textile business got their mother admitted to one very famous hospital in DHa lahore. Doctors almost killed her mother just to make more money. For very minor issue they paid around 2 million rs to different Private Doctors. And 3 to 4 operations without even doing ct scan. I luv my kids and would never like them to grow in this environment...

Great Video again. \n\nTwo tricks. Or accepted practices if you will. \n\nSpecialist appointments. \nWhat is likely to happen you go to your Family Doctor and he makes a judgement. \nDoes this person need to be seen by specialist how urgent is that need. \nYou then set up an appointment for three to four months down the road. \nYour likely not picky so you accept anytime. \nThat’s where you make the mistake. \nYou make the appointment for the first appointment of the day or as early in morning as you can. \nWhat happens then Is you will find you are out within 4 hours. \nThey like to clear their morning schedule before they take lunch. \nSo say your appointment is for 11. Because of backlog they get you in for 12. \nFinished up morning appointments by 1. \nThey then take there lunch. Which means they are two hours behind starting the afternoon. \nRough idea of what goes on but you get the idea. \n\nTwo. You hear it every time you call a doctors office. If this is a medical emergency call 911. \n\nIf you need an appointment with specialist because something is wrong. \nFor instance need to see Neurologist because of seizures. \nYou can go to family Doctor and he will set up appointment for 6-8months down the road. \nOr you can go to emerge snd be seen by Neurologist usually within the day. \n\nThey expect you to do that if you are in distress. \nNot in the brochure perhaps but they tell you to do it. \nCall 911 if this is medical emergency. \n\nSo whether your having heart palpitations, seizures, or just don’t know what’s wrong with you. \nThey expect you to go to emerge if you are in a bad way.

Ok, now I know this is one place where most anti Indian Khalistanis come from. Good luck bro’s, start your Khalistan from Lahore. Never dare to mess within India. We will hit you where you least expect. Make a good life in Canada, be responsible Canadians, if you don’t like India please don’t come here, our nation doesn’t care. But at least have the gratitude not to hit back at your ancestral soil. ??????

What is the scope of HR assistant professionals? Is it impact on my profile for express entry or in PNP if our education and work experience are not relevant? Secondly, I have checked my CRS and it's coming out to be 380 without my IELTS score. And if I add 8777 then it's like 426., so what is the chance of getting ITA in 2021 for express entry and for PNP both. \nSome agent told me that we will put your file in PNP as there is maximum chance of getting ITA. \nPlease guide me to start my express entry profile on my own and what are the groups of FB through which I can also take help as you did.

Racism huh? Many Filipinos have white blood in them, the Meztizos and Meztizas. What this creep doesn’t know is that many Filipinos who may not be too fair skinned, have grandparents who are white. What if Filipinos start discriminating guys like him then? Filipinos are a literal mixed blood and can be darker skinned. Skin color has never been a basis nor does it give a right to be a racist. We are all equal in the eyes of God, so why not see everyone and treat everyone equally? Under the law of course, that guy is accountable for his actions. Obviously, court action can only be taken if the family takes action against that guy.

Why is everyone surprised Canada has immigration laws??? We do not hate ppl who want a life in Canada but you need to inform yourself properly before actually showing up here.Canada’s immigration system is not unnecessarily strict like the us, but that doesn’t equate to anyone coming here. There is no false hope. Also Vancouver is literally the worst place for an immigrant/ refugee to start their lives; way too expensive.

Question on your tax statement, is that effective tax rate? Curious if it’s like USAs. People confuse the % but it’s actually not your effusive tax rate because it’s not 30% off the top of 100k. It depends when that tax bracket starts and any income in that tax bracket made is taxed at 30% not the income below it. People always make this mistake and think that 30% of your entire income is taken off.

Toronto Victoria. Is not the cowboys and Indians played in Alberta. Don't get me wrong it's a few bad seed that rot a garden. But like Rory said at the end and said it with a smile. Was I did it to fit in. Look at Alberta premiers. Making laws to stop us from protesting on our land. Or Alberta government when idle no more started. -30 outside and if you wore a facemask you arrested for hiding your face. But that law only come Into play if you ain't the white colour. Some people ain't lucky to know there culture but labled from birth. Elementary to couple years ago. I hate going home to visit family but yet still proud to say I'm from Alberta and Edmonton will always be home. Only knowing hate that's expressed and taught at a young age. So men are taking advantage of the tarnished reputation of asians and trying to take advantage of Asian women by hitting on them. \nOnce their offer got declined, they themselves start accusing these women of spreading the coronavirus and become racist. \nI feel like they are not upset on asian women for spreading the corona, they are upset because they didn't get to exploit the Asian women's helplessness.

3:13 none of our health care is free.. none..it better to think of it pre pay if you use it or not... \n\nUnless you can magic medicine and diagnostic tools, that's what a percentage of your tax pays.\n\nIn my opinion neither the USA system of health care, nor canada do I see much off difference in level of care.\n\nWhat I mean that is each system has its trade offs. For Canada small thing like broken arm or need information or certain medication i n that way Canada supior way, it's fairly quick treatment and tends to be effictive. Where Canada starts lagging behind is really in RnD and access to life saving procedures. Too many people die on waiting lists in Canada as there is not enough resources to go around, y'all have waited 4-8 H(normal is 2-4) just to be seen before don't fib to web now. \n\nAnd since we lack competition for newer/better medical procedure, 80-90% of our medical knowledge comes from the states or ww2 Germany.\n\nWhile on say the USA side, due to the competition they are constantly making advancements (which in the long run makes overall treatment cheaper and closer affordable). While with Canada you have fixed prices, which actually encourages stagnantion in development as anything that streamlines the hospital making it more efficient hurst the hospitals next year of available funding.. while being hurt in the USA can really set the individual back.\nIn Canada you get an overall lower quality of care as the talented doctors end up moving to the states where they can get paid what they are worth not stuck on a fixed income. And after all that rare illnesses in canada as stated don't have any coverage meaning that any one hit with hit rare illness finds out the hard way they can either pay for life saving medication or well pass on.. as most Canadian are taxed to high to have any substantial savings available for such an emergency as they fall into the trap that the government has me covered. \n\nSo each system has its positives and negatives and as far as I'm concerned it's not talked about enough honestly up hear.\n\nIf you have been to the dentist in canada thats basically the usa system, though the prices are fixed in some areas so some services won't be available.. as they don't update the payment schedule often enough so certain procedures pay well, other well can actually cost the dentist out of pocket. \nTherefore in some areas you can't get certain procedures done at all the dentist will refuse.

I am currently working in Munich. Started working 3 months back there. I am in Devops but I do not like the work. The salary is also low. I have got another offer from Surrey, the job profile is good. Salary is also fine. I am planning to live in Vancouver and travel to Surrey for work. I need advice, should I really leave Germany for Canada ? The major issue in Germany is language and for positions like team leader, German is must. What should I do ?
