At this point it would be smart for Canada (as well as Mexico) to enter a defence/arms deal with China and make China a strategic ally. Possibly extend the same deal to Russia. US under Trump is effectively an unreliable ally, doubling down on catastrophic mistake/decisions instead of making swift amends.

I like to understand where the premise that presendant Trump is smart coming from, I was able to do some math and check out some of the deals he made, apparently if he stopped doing anything and put the money on some stocks and play golf all of the time since got the money from his father...
