So strange to be a 66 y.o. American who will suffer the cost of these tariffs and still I'm in total support of you Canada. Please know most Americans do not want what Trump is inflicting upon us, our neighbors and international partners, nor do we believe this is a border issue. Grateful you're intelligent and a strong leader. Do not waiver.... hold your ground.

Please, Mr. Trudeau, please say that Donald Trump is the culprit, not America in its entirety. We are protesting the takeover of our country and will not cease trying to get rid of this administration that has hijacked our country. Everyday people will hurt through this and remember, it will not affect the oligarchy Trump has created, because they can withstand downturns in economies through wealth. His goal is to crush the Canadian economy in the guise of creating better paying jobs for American. Complete unhinged fallacy.

I used to think that the idea that Trump is a Russian asset was just a conspiracy theory. I am not sure of that now as how else to you explain why Trump is doing everything he can to undermine the USA? Why else would you cause a breech between the US and our allies Canada and Mexico? Why else would he destroy the infrastructure of our country through Musk and Doge? Why else would you stop all aid to Ukraine? Why would you stop cyber operations targeting Russia? Why would he set up an operation to humiliate the leader of an allied country fighting for its life against Russian aggression? Why would you send your vice president to Germany and have him insult our allies and not meet with the leadership of the country but rather meet with the essentially neo-Nazi Alternative for Germany? None of this--and many other actions--makes sense unless you begin to understand that Trump is actively trying to weaken our country to the benefit of the Russians. I know it is hard to believe but I can find no other explanation.

And that tight rope spans from one high rise building to another - the senate and house chambers of the US legislature. The midterms are coming soon and if President Trump loses the house and senate, that tight rope could snap! And all those shock and awe executive orders etc. could come back to haunt him like a boomerang thumping his head.\n\nNever in my wildest imagination would I ever imagine Canadians harboring bad feelings towards the USA! This is 180 degrees opposite of how things were when Ronald Reagan and Brian Mulroney were in the political arena!

To the Americans who are outraged by Trump, you need to stand up and truly fight like the MAGAts did when they stormed the capital on Jan 6th. However, Canada is now being treated transactionally, with a lack of respect to a historical friend and ally.
