At one time no South American country would have dared defy a US president and risk invasion and regime change, now they all openly defy Trump with abandon since the rise of BRICS. Colombia has applied to join BRICS and these retaliatory tariffs will simply speed that up. Colombia stated quite clearly - we will not accept undocumented migrants who have done nothing wrong but work, pay their tax and behave as excellent members of US society - basically Trump try somewhere else to dump your unwanted workers. Americans' favourite Colombian coffees have just become 25% more expensive, millions of cups of Colombian coffee is drunk the US every week. \n\nTrump’s ridiculous comment about Jordan, Egypt and other Gulf countries taking Palestinians whilst Gaza is rebuilt is equally stupid; those countries cannot accept forcibly expelled, ethnically cleansed Gazans because that would be a War Crime and render those countries liable to be accused of complicity in a War Crime by the International Court of Justice; they would also incur the wrath of their respective populations and put their governments at risk of being overthrown. \n\nAll the surrounding countries and the International Community needs to do is to flood Gaza with thousands of tons of humanitarian aid and millions of large family-sized tents, as well as mobile toilets and washing facilities. Supply bulldozers and rubble removing machinery to clean the land up as quickly as possible, as well as bomb detection kits to protect the children. The Gazan people are incredibly resilient and will happily live in tents whilst their country is being rebuilt around them, and the State of Palestine begins to emerge again. \n??

It's not surprising that Trump doesn't want his grades from Wharton School of Business released because he was at the bottom of his class and he is a multiple times failed businessman who has had everything in his life handed to him on a silver platter. Trump doesn't understand the basic fact that tariffs are passed on to consumers and INCREASE prices, NOT decrease them.

Which dumb ass doesn't realize that the end consumer is the one who eventually has to pay the tariffs, not the country where the goods are being imported from because it will get added into the cost of importing and down to consumers.

Trump is going to impoverish the USA with all these tariffs. The US citizen just won't want to pay the prices that are now being asked for imported goods that cannot be purchased from local sources. (And the price of locally sourced goods will also shoot up because of higher demand). Well done Trump, you are only punishing your own citizens with tariffs and they will hate you for it.

All this means is that USA consumers pay more for whatever Colombia exports and what consumers will need ( supermarket food produce for example) ?? It does not help US farmers who cannot deliver to super markets their field produce because Trump is deporting workers who go into the fields whom primarily collect it !!!\nTrump is basically taxing the US consumers and pushing prices up !! The US importer pays the tariffs (US customs tax at port of entry) whom then passes it onto the consumer !!\nThe consumer can of course not purchase the product which would hurt Colombia exports; the importers would have to hurriedly find another source whom would probably also increase their price because of demand.\nTrump is a loser and always will be; his businesses are mostly failures; even casinos !!

You Trumpers are not aware or educated on anything. Do you want to be at war with every country?\nYOU will pay for the tariffs. Trump is a bully. Yes we need immigration reform. But not start a war with every\nCountry. Trump killed the immigration reform bill with Dems and repubs because it’s how he won. The bill conceded to the repubs in many ways and they were thrilled. Then he told them not to vote for it. Do you want your children in an unstable atmosphere cuz Trump is threatening everyone? think this through. He’s wants to be a ruler and the rest of the world gets his craziness a lot more than you guys.

Are you kidding me. Are you not in Canada right now. Canada is now the most poor country in the World. Immigration has gone to the roof. No housing. Rents and forget about buying a house in BC, AB, Quebec, Ontario. High unemployment, Inflation is high and going up more. We also do not have a military defense system and the U.S. is tired of Canada not spending money to meet their responsibility as a Nato country. Many Canadians are leaving the country permanent. Investors and businesses are pulling out. Canada is trillions in debt but keep printing more money (toilet paper). Canada has gone downhill significantly over the past ten years. Born Canadians and legit immigrants having to go through a rigorous immigration process are very unhappy and cause conflict. Besides all the different ethnicities cause unrest and are ungrateful, daring the burn the Canadian flag, uttering death to Canada, death the US and Israel. These trouble makers have not intentions to assimilate into Canada's culture and are disrespectful to the Canadian government and it's citizens. Our youth are very unhappy and do not see a future for themselves yet have to work very hard and pay unbelievable high taxes. The minimum wages are only 15 bucks an hour which cannot sustain life here in this country. Please stop making false promises to foreigners to come here and be disappointed. This is not a country of milk and honey any longer but poor and enormous homelessness. Hunger, terrible health care, incredible post secondary tuitions and books. Now that president Trump has won the election he is going to place tariffs on Canadian goods and rightfully so. Russia is very interested in the Antarctica and should they or anyone invade Canada we got 3 days of ammunition. The food in AB is very bad for your health. Everything has pesticides, hormones, and by the time fruit and vegies arrive here from the US all the nutrition have gone. A extremely high cancer rate, young and old, diabetes, depression and other mental disorders are rampant. Our children and grandchildren do not have a future so why bother going to school or work. Our kids live on the streets, shelters, camping in the woods and using fentanyl and meth all kinds of dangerous drugs. The cities and small towns are full of used needles, pipes, and more paraphelia just thrown on the trails everywhere. The US will not assist Canada when a possible War 3 will occur, and we the people of Canada and the land are easy prey. If you do not believe me, just come visit RED Deer shelters and walk around on the trails, go to Vancouver but becareful because random assaults are happening every day, people living in tents, using the streets as toilets, drugs galore, even the police is unable to act nor arrest criminal activities caused by desperate people who need to survive. Canada's economy is about to collapse and fall into a recession. We have too many people coming in our country without checking their back ground and many criminals and terrorist groups are entering declaring refugee status whether it is true or not, we do not know. The people of Canada who work and pay highest taxes are used to house these newcomers and education, jobs, food and money. Our government take better care of these illegal people than their own people especially our youth. So please let us not pretend Canada is a land of opportunity and great. We have to vote for the right leader who will have a very difficult time and challenges to overcome if at all possible and make Canada Great Again!

Thanks to cheap labor, American capital, and factories, we built in China...Thanks to Chinese capital and technology Mexico will be one of the biggest producers of electric vehicles..They don't need the American market. This planet has 9 billion potential customers...The right thing to do was not to put tariffs but to open an EV factory in the USA using Chinese technology and money and everybody would benefit except Elon Musk and gas and oil corporations ..BYD or NIO better than Tesla costs about 25,000$ only... Tesla sells batteries for EVs for 26 000$...The same battery made in China costs 7.000$ because China has its own lithium. We should say goodbye to Elon Musk batteries and import batteries from China or make a lithium deal with Bolivia as China did. We would have American EVs better than Tesla for just 25.000-30.000$.\nCustomers are paying tariffs and this money goes to the government...Adding tariffs on most of foreign products is the faster way to create the Great Depression as Herberr Hover did in 1930 when he added Tariffs on 2000 imported products

FIRST i want to point out that MEXICO has a woman president and the US has a convicted felon rather than a woman (x 2)\n\nAlso, anyone who has taken finance or economy classes KNOWS that tariffs are going to negatively impact the everyday Joe and everyday Jane (the working poor aka the middle class) of the United States because it will INCREASE the costs of imported goods for US not the other country!!\n\n???

Tariffs DO work and anyone that thinks they don't is too stupid to have an opinion. The good thing about tariffs is that tariffs are not war. America has come to the point where we must flex our muscles. Tariffs WILL work because countries won't like the alternative. To be against tariffs is the act of a traitor.

Mark my words: mass deportations and tariffs are going to hurt us more than anyone. Trump’s antagonistic policies will not serve American in any way other than to keep us from moving forward. Drugs will continue to come in because demand won’t be solved. Inequality will increase because the poor will carry the expense of increased cost of goods. Infrastructure won’t get built and farms will lack labor because of lack of migration. People will remain undocumented because our immigration system sucks. Inflation occurs when the federal government places to much money in circulation. The Biden administration cut the key stone pipeline, subsequently increasing the cost of oil and gas, while negating the billions being brought in via oil exports. Gave a sizable portion of the stretegic oil reserve to non stretegic countries, increased Government spending on bad programs, sent several hundred billion to fund non stretegic foreign wars and hundreds of billions on housing, medical care and debit cards for illegal immigrants, while doing nothing for Maui, North Carolina and Florida or the millions of homeless and diplaced Americans and American veteran.\nAs for this Mexico issue. The people have spoken. Border counties filled with legal immigrants but flooded with violent illegals voted for Donald Trump because they are living the nightmare created by Mexico and the Biden administration, that these media and political hacks theorize about. The Mexican government has failed its people by allowing the Cartels to fill their pockets with billions every year. \nMexico is also working with China to funnel Chinese goods through Mexico in an attempt to bypass tariffs and flood the American economy with cheap Chinese goods. Don't let this Mexican president fool you, they are afraid of Trump holding them accountable for facilitating this mass invasion on the border. She made this statement publicly as a shakedown tactic instead of talking directly to President Trump. Her actions should tell you all that you need to know about these political puppets. In conclusion, Tariffs are affective because these greedy American and Foreign corporations use cheap labor to make cheap goods that they then sell for major profit. Tariffs tend to make these companies movie to America create American Jobs and pay higher American salaries which are a significant savings over tariffs. The companies lose considerable profits but they gain market share because they understand that when you raise the price of goods you only make the American alternative more appealing.

A train wreck is coming down the tracks. Tariffs will increase the cost of living in the US because the cost of paying it will come out our own pockets, not the foreign countries. They will only pass that cost onto us by reversed tariffs against the US. This proposal will only hurt the world economy and alienate our closest trading partners. We are now going to be ripped off by our own government.

As employees of GM/Chevrolet, I am extremely worried about the potential impact of Trump's tariffs, particularly on Mexico and Canada. Our products are manufactured globally, so I am curious to see how Trump's supporters would react if the prices of vehicles like the Silverado and Tahoe increased by 35%. Get ready, America, because we may be in for four years of unprecedented chaos.

Why doesn't CNN talk about how tariffs raise prices for Americans??? Seriously, a lot of the problems we are facing now, is because media like CNN, isn't telling what exactly this stuff does, they normalize and that's why Americans are unaware of what tariffs really do. Also, Mexico has said they'll deport Americans that are there as well.

First Trump's administration is going to be jacked up with little known outliers with controversial and radical ideas. That is what Trump is attracted to. His ideas of tariffs and mass deportations are deplorable. They both disadvantage the US instead making it better. However, the tariffs may as well be a scam to get companies profits as when Trump says 10% on item A, companies are going to raise the cost of item A 12 to 15% or so and blame the cost increase on tariffs. For deportation's, I hope most people realize that many working the fields as low wage labor are very well illegals, but they are hired because they keep food costs low. Raising all prices for the poor Republicans will not be beneficial because prices on goods can increase 15% or more but their employer is certainly not going give them a 15% raise to match the cost of living. So Trump has already made the business environment good for more profits by planning to make life more expensive for everyone so business can absorb the additional profits. Probusiness politicians help businesses make money and that money comes from households and the government. And making the government spend more means the government needs to tax more. But TRump is cutting taxes for the people that have the most money. And Trump raising prices with tariffs justs makes households poorer and business richer. Naturally, the stock market will record highs when all the indicators are that business will be making much greater profits from households when Trump takes office.

When a lot of these Trump supporters realize how badly that Trump has screwed them and lied to them and a lot of these companies start laying off people by the thousands because the companies cannot afford to pay these tariffs and pay all the employees they have, and the whole time Elon Musk in the Trump family are sitting on their golden toilets and eating bonbons in their ivory towers, Trump and his minions better beef up their security that’s all I’m gonna say

Get ready for high soaring inflation because of the Tariffs and Labor shortages for the jobs that nobody'll want to do - picking vegetables, fruits, berries, +, and it won't matter what the price of gas(Which during his administration gas was down because not as many people were traveling like they were before Covid.) because not many will be able to afford much of anything else, which under President Biden inflation was falling and was going to be reduced even further and fuel prices were dropping - and money was coming into the Country from Arms Sales which helped lower inflation and taxes, now the next Countries will only have to build Arms that don't have to be as good as the Country's but just better than the Pariah Countries and they'll pick up the Sales that'll be dumped from the Country and jobs will be lost - leading to higher prices again and lower wages for many workers because many people will be unemployed and they'll be willing to take lower paid jobs which will lower overall wages and the quality of merchandise will drop - people really didn't think before putting that checkmark ✔️ - not to mention the ladies and their families that'll be effected some horrendously and chances are that eventually it'll effect the majority of families and then the divorce rates will rise and crimes will rise out of desperation - but the thing is - is that the criminals will be able to afford gas to travel around more to commit more crimes - - -,,,.*

Give them what they want. They want this mass deportation let them have it. It’s going to cost a lot of money will likely control the house of representatives and the US Senate as well as the president go ahead and do it find the money pay for it do it. Now it’s going to be very weird when we try and figure out who’s going to do the jobs that these people are literally doing right now, but worry about that later. Right now do what you said you would do. Don’t take all day. Don’t slack off do it now. The man said on day one that’s what he would hold him to that. Give the people of America what they want give them those deportations give them those tariffs when the economic problems come with both initiatives. When produce prices jump in the stores because a lack of labor? When building contractors lose a portion of there labor building houses?? When the meat processors like tyson meats and others have illegals working through labor contractors!!!! Yes those of you who say how can they work? Too many people are so uneducated about what Trump is really going to do!! They do NOT understand how tariffs work!! Unlike Kamala’s plan to stop the price gouging in the grocery stores…the GOP will drive prices through the roof!!! The inflation rate which did not include costs of food, were also dropping consistently including this past month!! I believe it under 3% by close to 1/2 a percentage point!\nBut what will truly be frightening will truly be if he accomplishes his plan to get rid of SSI, Medicare & Medicaid as well as the Affordable Care Act!! Cool. A well thought out plan. So, when you start deporting workers who work in agriculture and meat processing, and the only solution is to raise wages or slow production, this is going to be immediately inflationary. In about a year, the prices at the grocery stores and at fast food restaurants are going to be significantly higher. Combined with the inflationary tariffs, this will cause a recession. \n\nIf you voted for Trump because of high inflation, the next few years are going to be confusing.

There aren't going to be more jobs coming up here because of the tariffs that Trump is going to do in fact several companies are already canceling their Christmas bonuses for people because they are going to be pre-buying things they need to try to get ahead of the tariffs they know that are coming this isn't going to make businesses want to hire pay more money increase benefits or anything like that I don't understand why people think this is going to be some kind of economic Boone I don't understand how everyone's forgotten what happens with tariffs the first time he was in office and now he wants to do even more
