However we will continue on that course and we will continue to fail. The Cato Institute was initially funded by the Koch brothers a extremely conservative organization that gets together a group of the brightest and the best in trying to determine what is the best solution.the Koch brothers were the group that invented the tea party I would love for anybody who disagrees with this post. I would like anybody who thinks that this is a far-fetched idea ,all I ask is that if you disagree with the finding that it should be legal with age restrictions if you disagree I would like to hear a solution that you have in mind that you think is better than the Cato Institute finding. I am under the impression that you do not have anything that remotely resembles a solution to this terrible problem. While I acknowledge that the way Trump and Vance addressed Zelensky could have been more diplomatic, as an American , I cannot justify allocating $360 billion of our tax funds towards resolving another counties war—especially when only half of that amount has been accounted for, and the other half remains untracked. Let that point sink in! The US is currently in $33 Trillion dolars in debt yet giving away money like candy . No other country is contributing money like we are . We simply do not have the resources to continue doing that . Our financial situation is worsening as we print more money to allocate toward other countries. Furthermore, 7% of the $33 trillion of the US debt is owed by other countries , including China . Our funds need to be utilized for our own benefit before being given away. We have veterans on the streets, the elderly suffering because SS isn't covering their basic needs , school system thatvis failing , health insurance unaffordable by most. But it's typically trafficked in small, high potency quantities, often hidden in legitimate shipments or through mail, and only on very rare occasions is it being brought in by individuals crossing the border. It has _never_ been documented to have shipped in as part of large scale commercial imports, so a 25% tariff on legal trade with Canada and Mexico doesn’t directly target the black market supply chain at all.\n\nIf we take Trump’s reasoning at face value, the argument seems to be that he wants to exert economic pressure on Mexico and Canada as a means of having them crack down harder on drug trafficking networks. But the issue is that fentanyl simply isn’t coming in through mass import channels, so all this looks like is a punitive measure without a clear mechanism to actually achieve its stated goal. And the implications? Drastically higher costs for consumers in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

The dialog between Canada and the US need to come together for a global solution to peace, prosperity and security. As a Canadian, I share the opinion of about 80% of our country. Trudeau is a clown, and after 10 years of him destroying our country, we can't wait for him to be gone. Most of our media is government funded and so they don't report wrong doings of the administration like they should, plus lots of censoring so this is the first im hearing of it. So much misinformation in this video. First off, Trump didn't force Canada to do anything. Canada had the $1B security plan already in place and was going to do this long before Trump came to power. Secondly, more people come in to Canada illegally from the US than the other way around. Also, Canada has a huge issue with these people smuggling US guns in to our country. \n\nThe US needs to secure its borders. We took in well over 5 million immigrants (documented and undocumented) over the past 3 years. Like New York, many of our cities are overwhelmed with this influx. We don't even have the resources to track down expired visas, overstays, or asylum cases. Last year our government admitted there was a problem and decided to start taking action. The biggest issue is people claim to be tourists with no intent of leaving. The Canada US border is far stronger than our international one.

I've been to the states many times! My opinion is that Americans focus on wallets more than social issues! Americans care more about their own circumstances than working together to help the whole of the population. No one likes to pay more taxes but they are a nessesary evil to be able to pay for health care, public security, and so on! I am a Canadian in Alberta and the reality is that the Liberals have weakened the Canadian economy and our standing in the world. Their decision to cripple our oil and gas industry and our lack of ability export our products elsewhere in the world is an issue created by the policies of the Liberals. To impose a carbon tax and further weaker the average Canadian is terrible. There are some policies I don't like out of the U.S. but the reality is that it is never an idea to pick a fight with the toughest kid on the block knowing you will lose.
