? Californian here. Thank you, PM Trudeau, for your leadership and for speaking with respect and clear intentions to rebut what you were forced into. Listening to you speak makes things feel a little less scary. To hear another world leader speak with such normality, is reassuring that democracy still exists. The last decade has been hell on Americans. Some of us have been standing up, speaking up and never giving up for a decade now. Wee are tired but we can't stop. Thank you for being a sane voice during this insane nightmare. And thank you for embracing President Zelenskyy. He needed that multileader summit embrace after what Trump did to him ?????

Because Trudeau is nice, and tried to get along and show respect, as usual trump thought he saw weakness. That's always a mistake.

Respect! I think Trudeau speaks plainly about the madness of the latest tariffs. I'm pleased that he speech was measured and polite. And how he spoke directly to people in the USA, dismissing the totally unjustifiable reasons Trump has made for implementing the tariffs.

The U.S. is no longer the sugar daddy of the world why don’t you understand! The disrespect to President Trump is ridiculous from this woke socialist idiot! This is about equality and showing the respect of the country that drives your economy and protects your borders! From Canada: Sorry but we did this to ourselves by not growing our economy as we could have done, by not expanding energy and trade, by being led by a non-leader who panders only to the east and disrespects the west, who spends money like it’s on fire. Trudeau could learn so much from Sen Robert Kennedy about spending money that isn’t his to spend… If eastern Canada would respect the wealth we have in the country, in the ground, we would not be in this position. Canada could be one of the wealthiest countries in the world and Canadians could have a very high standard of living. Instead we are stagnant and woke, dying from terrible drug policies and woke law, and bursting with a terrible “look at me, look at how good I am” immigration policy. We have no investment or tourism in BC, no foreign buyers, almost no airbnb, no fruit, soon to be no wine, but at least we have free drugs and 2000 genders, right Provincial NPD? That will help the bank account. And we have no respect for Alberta’s riches that benefit EVERYONE. All the power is centralized in Quebec, with the Bloc not even a federal GD party but somehow allowed to be a federal party, and Ontario and Atlantic Canada just loving a false sense of moral and intellectual superiority, and don’t forget transfer payments. And we have got ourselves into this Liberal government purgatory (thank God the Federal NPD have been decimated over it…at least there is some justice), so that we write cheques to make us feel good and look good despite that we can’t afford it. And we prevent growth and trade to make ourselves feel good and look good even though we can’t afford it. And here we are now, broke a** with no prospects and no savings. Well done Canada and well done Capitano Trudeau.

Gotta disagree w/ Mr. Trudeau on one point, when he says Trump is 'very smart'--NO. Otherwise, Trudeau's speech was spot-on, and I love and respect Canada even more now. Most of us Americans cannot be proud of our country; we are held captive by a wannabe dictator and his stooges who are self-serving, vindictive, and UNpatriotic! To gather some semblance of sanity, I am taking the family on a Canadian Rockies tour in late spring--am tempted to not return home again.

As an American that saw the writing on the wall 7 years ago and left, I thank you Mr. Trudeau. You, and Canada are very much respected, and the world listens. Well done Mr. Trudeau, he is no longer Prime Minister of Canada. He can express his thoughts openly and honestly. Trump insists on an apology from Zelensky because he claimes that Zelensky showed him respect - and at the same time Trump calls Justin Trudeau - who is the Prime Minister of Canada - for governor. From Ukraine with respect. A few decades ago our school hired a Canadian as a native speaker to teach us some spoken English. He was not very smart and made some grammar mistakes here and there. But what surprised me is how on his 1st day he tried to make a joke, smth. “We, Canadians, have nothing to apologize for, except for Celine Dion”. He startled to giggle, searching our faces for a sign of approval. There was none! We love Celine! To this day it astounds me how many Canadians badmouth their great singer or their own Prime minister. What is wrong with you? Like every Canadian I’ve met kept saying many unpleasant things of Trudeau. You should be proud of your prime minister the way you are proud to be Canadians and slow down on insulting him!
