I almost forgot what an actual leader sounds like. It's sad that so many of my fellow Americans let fear mongering and hate take root in their psychy to the point they thought a barely literate megalomaniac was the best choice to lead the country. Yes, the number two in the Oval Office is Pence, and his words often come across as cheap, bullying tactics. Instead of offering real leadership or thoughtful discussion, he uses language that tries to intimidate and put others down. I never thought that in my lifetime I would see, as I do now, the once might USA become a vassal state of Russia. How the mighty have fallen! I think these words mean nothing, one shoudl look at actual data. There have been a tremendous imbalance between the US and most of the world. US produces so much, have so many resourcers but could not compete. Instead, they were forced to open operations in foreign countries, which does not benefit US taxpayers. You like it or not, US was on a downhill if other countries would not agree to make American products competitive.

I would advise Canada to make it easier for Americans to move there and bring their wealth. I know many who want to leave USA like I did.

As a 60 years old french Canadian I have all the reason to not love Trudeau, because he remind me how his father treated us, never vote for him, but today I saw a men (finally) standing up and take the lead for our country. Trudeau is speaking and acting like the statesman he is! His way of speaking on this matter is truly polite and great. He is defending his country and its values! I have read many comments expressing support for Canada and assurances that the writers didn't vote for this administration. Until now, something like this could only be seen in totalitarian countries, it was the Russians, Belarusians who explained that they did not support Putin or Lukashenka, that they didn't want to be associated with the actions of their authorities. Bravo Canada. I didn't vote for Trump and I can't explain why any American with critical thinking skills would. Yet many Americans voted for a bully whose main interest is serving himself and not those wo voted for him. The drugs they are complaining about entering the US from Canada are almost entirely brought in by Indian truck drivers (Google it and find many examples). A Fentanyl super lab in BC capable of producing over 95 million lethal doses that was busted was run by an Indian. This is now threatening trade with our main trade partner as a trade war has just started. ENOUGH ALREADY! Indians need to be sent home, and banned from entering Canada.

Canada has many problems and disadvantages which will need to be determinedly addressed in the coming years. However, we have one key advantage over our friends to the south, and one I hope that over time this will increasingly bear fruit: we are not governed by a fascist-adjacent government. Our only political party with policies resembling the American Republicans is polling in the low single digits.\n\nSetting aside the question of whether American Republicans are 'fascist-adjacent', the truth is that much of the world perceives it as such. Our economy is so tied to the US that I would not wish them ill, or at least not very much. However, I think in the competition for talent American politics will be like a 'mark of Cane' on that country for a generation. My guess is that our - in comparison - boring politics will be a key advantage in the years to come.

tyler i don't think u realize how bad the usa education system really is. i'm canadian but have lost count of the number of usa teachers who have complained about how bad they are held back from teaching kids properly, how kids can't be failed or held back, how kids graduating gr 12 can't read or write past gr 6 level. in fact recently there was a statistic put out that something like 60% of ALL americans cant read or write past gr 6. considering all your universities that is terrifying. not to mention with gun violence, straight up violence among kids and at teachers, the disrespect and the severe lack of good parenting, kids are not being educated at all. u yourself have done videos on where someone interviews americans and asked them questions about canada and they haven't got a clue. not one clue. yet canadian kids are regularly taught all about their american neighbours. are kids know more about america then american kids do and thats shameful. u need to do some research on this because unless u live in a rich gated elite community and go to private school the public education system in the usa is very dismal and woefully inadequate. \nalso he's right about politics. here we can discuss it rationally and then move on to other topics. in the states ppl are shooting ppl over differences in politics. beating ppl up trashing their cars and property etc. and many police are definitely not presenting themselves with professionalism tons of racism going on. and so many police because everyone is armed. here in canada we are not allowed handguns and pretty much ppl only have hunting rifles. it takes a lot of work and clearance not to mention time and money to take the necessary classes and get the necessary permits to even own a hunting rifle. in the usa show a drivers license and wait 10 days u have a handgun no matter how mental u are. therefore u need way more police than here in canada. i think u have a well to do upbringing so u have not and do not see the true picture of the america u live in. \nalso i have talked to many american friends who had insurance and still cost them about $5000 per birth of a child. with good insurance and working full time. so thats about average. here in canada u pay nothing except maybe parking for hubby while he visits.

I've been to the states many times! My opinion is that Americans focus on wallets more than social issues! Americans care more about their own circumstances than working together to help the whole of the population. No one likes to pay more taxes but they are a nessesary evil to be able to pay for health care, public security, and so on! So sure Americans don't pay as much for some things but pay more for things that they shouldn't pay! Health care is something that is very important, how can you be expected to pay for health services if you can't work cause you're ill, doesn't make any sence! Even Americans leave thier country because of what it's becoming! 50- 100 years ago everyone wanted to immigrate to America or Canada, now a days everyone is immigrating here to Canada.
