Wish we would here the same out of the White House. \n\nAs a german who knows about german history and how everything started back then I'm terrified how fast the United States of America are moving towards a dictatorship.\n\nEvery politician around the free world should be worried about what is going to happen if DT keeps doing what he is doing, which is undermining every treaty and contract the US is having with the rest of the world.\n\nAnd on a personal note: as a child I always dreamed of someday moving to the USA. After beeing there on holiday in 2017 and also driving to Canada to visit some friends, that dream changed.\n\nDon't get me wrong, I still love your country, but you elected the worst President for the second time! WHY??? You could have known what it would be like, everything was reported on by this network and many others.\n\nAs one commentator said: this is not going to end well. And I and most of Europe and the rest of the world are thinking the same and we are afraid of the things to come.

All we hear is how our government is saving so much money and now imposing higher tariffs, yet we’ll continue with the same tax deductions while struggling to keep up with the rising cost of everyday expenses. Meanwhile, politicians continue to tell us that this is America’s golden age?

Thank you, Prime Minister Trudeau, the sane Americans still love you and your great country. This government is not who or what I voted for. I am so sorry, friends. I think MOST of us do not want this either. Our government is a failure and we need to change it. We, the people. The REAL people. But the imbalance has to stop.\n\nSame with Mexico, trading balance with Mexico is almost $200 billion in favor of Mexico. The imbalance has to stop. \n\nThe US economy is bleeding by trading with allies and partners, it’s fighting for its financial wellbeing. It is not some bs from the orange man, it is real.\n\nOf course Canada, Mexico, Europe and others want business as usual… and why wouldn’t they? ?

I still can’t for the life of me understand why we went through a version of this once already and somebody here still keeps wanting more. Why? Why keep aligning with a “President” who seems hellbent on revenge and throwing us all overboard unless you’re at least a millionaire? Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

US needs fentanyl to keep the population happy, it’s inevitable. If it can’t be imported then they have to produce it within. Same goes for India-Bangladesh-Myanmar border, China-Thailand border, Afghanistan-Russia border etc. The weaker country always take up the supplier role, it’s not politics but economics.

People..Hello..I believe that Trump has aligned himself with Russia, not our allies. Trump's new DOJ has immediately ceased prohibiting foreign money or interference in our Election's. They've stopped our offensive Cyber SECURITY team that prevent Russia from attacking US targets. Why would he do that? Trump has fired Apolitical Generals and Chiefs of staff in the Military, JAG and prosecutor's who weed out fraud or corruption, even involving Trump's actions. Trump doesn't want stopped, if he wants to change the Constitution or demand the Military to arrest citizens. He's Dismantled checks and balances, and evades the Rule of Law. Trump stopped US aid to keep Ukraine's Power Grid functioning, so people hospitalized wouldn't freeze to death. We obviously have a Russian Asset running the Oval office. It only took HITLER 53 day's to become a Dictator. You had better speak up quickly, Republicans and Democrats or you are going to lose your FREEDOMS.

Who cares? Seriously Of course he's upset. Canada relies heavily on the U.S., with about 75% of its exports going to America, making us a major contributor to their GDP. Instead of making other countries richer, we should focus on manufacturing and building here at home. This would keep more money circulating in the U.S., boosting economic growth and strengthening our own GDP. A stronger domestic economy means more jobs, higher wages, and greater financial stability for Americans. Regardless of who’s president, we need fair trade policies that benefit the U.S. just as much as our partners.

Any time you are on any kind of team, the teammates you want are ones you can trust, ones that will keep their word. One thing that has made the US strong is the allies we have. He have been able to keep these allies because, in general, we have stuck to agreements we have made with other countries historically. If you have an ally that doesn’t fulfill their end of agreements then they are not much of an allie. If Trump is thinking he can “replace” our current allies and just go become allies with Russia—Russia doesn’t have a good track record on following through on agreements in the last few decades.

If anyone is wondering about the reason of Trump's tariffs: Tariff is source of revenue for the government which is not based on salary. The rich and the poor of the USA will pay the same amount of it for a specific product. This revenue will then serve the US government to decrease the income tax, which is based on percent of revenue (i.e higher income people pay much more taxes). The tax cuts means those with higher revenue will get to keep more of it. So at the end of the day more of the governments revenue will come from those with lower revenue. Thus unfortunately widening the gap between the rich and the poor.
