Isn't liberal multiculturism wonderful,Canada is screwed,this government has turned against it's own citizens, the French lady was right,some of them are not clean people, so for those of you who are confused,and say that's its part of their religion, I say cleanliness and good hygiene has nothing to do with religion, no one should have to smell your stinky body odor or tolerate your un-cleanly bad habits, that is where diseases come from! We have plenty of water and soap,so use it!

The real question is Canada vs Florida because the U.S. consists of many mini countries that have agreed on a common constitutional document and basic laws but otherwise are different countries. With that said Canada loses on every metric that matters to Florida. From economics to taxes to business to self defense and personal property Florida wins. The U.S. is secular but politicians of all nations will bring it up to some degree thinking this is somehow unique to the U.S. means you don’t understand the U.S. When it comes to political and religious diversity the U.S. has a larger population consisting of the entire world its by definition diverse. Canada doesn’t have sensible gun laws it just leaves those who can’t defend themselves at great risk.\n\nCrime is high in cities that have laws & culture closer to Canada than they do the U.S. Which have the strictest gun laws in the country. It’s bad politics & culture which are most similar to Canada that has resulted in higher crime rates. \n\nGun laws in the U.S. are for Americans to have the option to fight against a tyrannical government like we have scene in Canada with the truckers and mass freezing of bank accounts. That is what the right to bear arms was for first and foremost not just self defense. Canada ignores this entirely and instead has the perspective of give the government all the power and expect government to be “good” and act in good faith to the people which it has continually failed to do so. Canada has to bribe Quebec just to keep its country together something that has been an issue since the founding of Canada is parts of it breaking off due to tyrannical federal government power abuse.\n\nFreedom comes with risks but it’s always better to be free.\n\nPeople who leave the U.S. for Canada are doing so for political reasons otherwise they can leave their blue progressive crime filled cities for free cheap safe red states.\n\nI encourage all Canadians to search moving from Canada to Florida and you will find many Canadians that realized the American Dream. Which is still alive and well in states like Florida.

We cared so much about their suffering and wanted to help. We couldnt end the war in their countries so we offered them a safe place to share in our home (country) so they could build a life and live in peace. But just like when you feed a wild animal once they take it for granted and become aggressive when you cant give more. If you need shelter from war and someone offers you a safe place in their house or country its extremely selfish and bad manners to then keep going on about the war in the house or country that was offered to you in good wiil with only good intentions.

Dated a chick in Toronto who was from Romania. She didn’t even get her Canadian citizenship yet. Only having the residency of Canada. I tried to get her to come to America so many times and try to show her that things aren’t as bad as what you’ve probably heard in Romania/ Canada. I even was willing to move over her parents. The father is an hardworking immigrant and her mother doesn’t work. I told her the economics and she just didn’t get it. I shared her my vision, getting married etc she just didn’t get it. Smh, I truly hope Canada figures their shit out for the sake of people like them.

South Asian Indians are fourth generation Canadians and are educated, successful and have assimilated with the European culture. The french lady should see Montreal, it is cool to see Indians, Chinese speaking French. Do you ask why there are too many Chinese in Chinatown? Sadly the new immigration are bad Trudeau policies that India wanted deported back. Others are temporary honest Indian students that are being ripped off by Canadian wrong policies of shameless cash grab. Assimilation for new immigrants could be something in common e.g. free classical piano lessons for everyone in school. Music and language is a great first step in communication. The drug problem has nothing to do with immigration, it is the result of their own culture of drug abuse and bad Canadian policies. I think it is sad that the woman seems to be so negative without realizing the she has to care and use her power for good by demanding that no Canadian should be on the streets, this is why ALL Canadians (especially include South Asian Indians) pay taxes. where is our money going? is not the Canadian Government responsible for the welfare of ALL Canadians? we were the peacekeepers. Canada is a puppet to western primitive thinking foreign policy in a proxy war to destroy beautiful Christian Russia?? Trump has outsmarted Trudeau on every agreement. Canadians are paying double to a country that wants our water!!! I wish Senior Trudeau was here to protect Canadians.

Being a brown person is in fact a good thing medically. \n\nWe all need to find means to live in harmony and not create nuisance or bother others, be it an immigrant, outsider, natives, local, westerners…..\n\nLet’s make the world a better place to live in peace and harmony. Maybe some more knowlegable people can respond, but Canada has a birthrate problem. Our population would technically be shrinking if we did not have imigrants to be the new working force. As for who is imigrating, that may also be related to where people would like to imigrate to and opportunity. ie some would rather to to USA. Maybe if cost of living and raising a child was not so expensive. Canda has made some steps to improving child care costs recently, but it has been bad for a long time. It also does not help that we are now in a society where on average both parents need to work, and people are having children later.

Dang and i thought florida was bad. Dont doubt that we'll be equally as screwed in the years to come. World's a shitshow rn. Dont care how it compares to other generations as i haven't lived then, this is now and its fucking awful. nobody has the willpower to do anything anymore because its so far beyond our reach and comprehension and every corner turned is another worldwide devastating cause and effect that its borderline impossible for someone to dig themselves out of the hole theyve been tossed into

I'm Chilean. My sister moved to London bc of a job opportunity and lived there for 15 years, but after Brexit things started to go sour; my BIL's company offered to move him to Toronto. Off they go... they HATED it; the drab culture, the weather, the prices (higher than London!), the quality of the schools their kids go to, etc. I went there last year and, honestly, besides being obviously safer than Santiago, I found it a very boring city; much more than any other I've been to in the US, Europe and South America. Plus they are constantly complaining about the extreme protectionism, which means some things are hard to come buy or to order online, and explains the high costs of telecoms. Well, they decided it was too bad for them, so they're returning to Chile this year?‍♀️

the trouble with immigration policy in canada is that it is no longer tied with the economic need but has become rooted in an idea that immigration is something that is always progressive and desirable. Hence, the more the better, has been the guiding principle for years. any discussion of the merits of liberal immigration policy was discouraged and any questioning of an ever growing number of newcomers was portrayed as racist. bad actors in the form of unscrupulous businesses capitalized on this attitude and started importing ever larger number of temporary foreign workers which depressed wages and incomes. To the mix were added international students who came into the country in their hundreds of thousands in search of work and eventual permanent residence rather than education. critical mass was reached in 2022 and was further exacerbated in 2023. things got so completely out of control that even LPC - the champions of large scale immigration, had to implement some half-baked and half-hearted measures to stem the flow. where this will end up is anybody's guess but once the floodgates are open, they are virtually impossible to close. i am sure we will be dealing with the consequences of imprudent immigration policies for years if not decades to come.

I feel bad ... a time I got drunk and same time I was on chat with Amazon. I literally abused because my item was not correct, incomplete and even broken. So I ask for a refund. I abused that agent who assisted me. Till date I feel bad about it... may be he'll understand I wasn't right in my head at that time. Then I stopped doing it... everyone must be struggling so spread kindness.

The common reasons why Brampton has so many Indians.\n1) Even in India there are 22 official languages, but unofficial 121 languages with over 700 different dialects. In Brampton, the majority are Punjabi and Gujarati. These names first come from the language they speak, later to the Indian State. Each language represents a culture. In India also everyone feels safe within their community because it is human nature to bully someone who doesn't look the same as them. So, they feel safe within the community. This new Woke culture calls it racism and hate, but I think it is a common human nature.\n2) Helping each other to settle in the same community. So, they prefer to land here first and somehow settle in. The government programs for newcomers are just a waste of taxpayers' money.\n3) Closer to the Airport and Public Transportation is not too bad.\n4) A lot of part-time work opportunities for the students and newcomers. (Not the same under Trudeau anymore)\n5) A lot of activities for parents of the immigrants because they can't learn English or Culture at this age.\n6) Indian Food and Grocery are easily available.\n\nIt was not that bad before, but the latest influx of unskilled immigrants and students with the absence of manners has taken it to an unrecoverable level.

We have the same problem. I actually like the people, but….somehow, immigrants have managed to have been able to acquire the vast majority of retail jobs in our area. How is that possible? There are businesses and fast food chains with not one white person working as an employee. I spoke to a former worker that was at one of these businesses for years and asker her WTF happened? She told me that the company hired a new manager from India, within 6 months, half the staff were Indian, local students were not being hired for part time jobs, only Indians, by the end of the year, every single employee was Indian. \nShe along with other quit their jobs because….not because they’re racist, but because not only were they being treated differently than the now majority brown workers, but they were being made to feel excluded because…the manager and the new staff all spoke a different language, they would all work together in a group not speaking English at all, saying things and laughing making it pretty obvious that they were making fun of the white employees. The “manager” would ignore the white staff’s complaints and he would then seemingly punish them by giving them less hours, change their duties and give “the good shifts” to the new brown people to the point where the white people were made to feel alienated as well as cutting back their hours leaving them with not enough hours to make a living. “This is Canada Mother Fecker” these people need to speak our language when they’re in public or at the workplace with “Canadians” or…employers should fire them. I will note, that the A&W that this happened at, has changed not only by every single employee being brown, but the service is not near as friendly, they all speak to each other in a different language behind the counter.. the seating area is not even close to being clean, the tables usually are left with trays and garbage that aren’t being cleaned as customer leave. It so bad sometimes that I literally have to pick a dirty table and remove the garbage myself because every available table has not been cleaned….and the bathrooms …. I don’t even want to talk about it they’re so disgusting. And when you complain….they turn to other employees and speak a different language… so we have no idea about WTF they are actually doing or saying about the issue. “ Thank you Sir, we will take care of that.” And the next day…it was the same. I’ve stopped going there along with everyone that I know…our work crew along with our families can no longer support such a dirty, rude and disrespectful business.

Since the time of this video's release, Canada was internationally ridiculed for committing civil-war acts against it's own people that were protesting and hurting no one during the protest, it's passing bills that look good on the surface, but if you actually read them they have totalitarian clauses that state things like if you say language online that they don't like to anyone, you'll go to jail for the rest of your life (Online Harms Act). We take down news outlets online that are not state-funded media that spew the government narrative (CBC) (Bill C-18 Online News Act). We have bills put forward where if you ever say Oil & Gas is good for the economy in any medium, you'll be criminally charged, fined half a million, and go to jail for a year (bill C-372 Section 15 subsection 2). I live in Nova Scotia and most of our population is practically now Indian population it was never like that say 8 years ago,im fine with anyone from any country living here for sure but it must not be bad for them because they have moved here in droves,practically every business is filled with indians all working in them and including where i work,ill tell ya there dedicated workers and work hard and i get it they need the hours to get there Canadian citizenship?So is there a long time perk of being indian and moving to Canada,Nova Scotia perhaps that i dont know about?Because us Canadians that have lived here all there lives are definitely not getting any perks or barebones living for godsake.

Nice video. I watched it as I like to learn from other perspectives.\n\nI was born in Toronto, and I must say, this “no time for life and fun” is a new thing. This lack of access to health care is a new thing. I agree with your assessment. It now seems lonelier in Toronto. \n\nCanada used to be different because anyone with a good job could afford at least a condo, but life became unaffordable not just for immigrants, but for everyone unless you are in your 50s-60s and own a home. \n\nI have friends working double jobs supporting family back home in other countries, but for some of them the family back home sound like they are doing better than them and own a home. It’s like they are sacrificing their life to be in poverty or full of hardships and their families get to go out for dinners and drinks with friends. Not them. Not true for everyone, but for some yes and I worry about their own retirement because retirement in Canada without lots of savings means you might be homeless or forced to live with family even if it’s not your preference. \n\n without investments and savings, it will be hard to beat inflation. Getting into debt and getting bad credit can mean not getting an apartment. \n\nThe birth rate is going down because it is expensive to have kids and income isn’t enough to match with living costs. Getting help from government is really not something everyone gets access too. One person might get housing support, 10 others may get nothing. Different governments offer different things. Programs end and change often. \n\nIn Canada definitely bargain and shop around for good phone plans. one idea is to get a pay as you go until “Black Friday” then every year or two when your good offer expires there will be many others. It’s the time with the best deals saving almost half. For instance, I have 50 gigs for $25 for two years from a large provider. Telephone companies are the one place where people must bargain and even ask for better deals as a must.\n\nThe people you see living in big houses, will have kids that can’t afford the same. This is because prices keep rising. The system protects the very rich, but will also drain the middle class often within 1-2 generations. Do not link your business to your personal finance, or creditors can take your home. Some not knowing this lose everything and rich people know better. \n\nPeople live until they are very old, so inheritance is pretty much meaningless to rely on, so no matter what your parents have you must hustle in life. \n\nI do think Canada can become what we want over time. Citizens need to fight the trend of great community spaces, restaurants and bars going out of business and dumb corporations move in with bad boring restaurants. Like a McDonald’s where maybe a popular cultural hang out was. \n\nPart of the problem is a lack of mixed income housing areas, so it’s hard to stay living where you grew up. Artists and musicians help make a city great, but many cannot afford to live here.\n\nFamilies and communities staying together means more support for those with young kids and older relatives when they need help. Yet how is this possible in a city that is always pushing out lower income people when wealthier people desire the area. \n\nIn Toronto, every time you move you have to take what is available and that might mean moving an hour away from everyone you know. This weakens communities. Plus, if you live too far from your work you will have no time to socialize for most the week due to travel time. \n\nI think those who grew up in Toronto do have a certain culture of acceptance with others from many cultures, because your friends at school were from all over. But with new migrants sometimes it isn’t until the second generation that their social circles get diverse. This can be isolating and it’s even isolating as those from Toronto eventually leave dreaming of staying in one spot and not forced to move constantly when a landlord investor sells every house you move into. \n\n\nToronto really needs to protect affordability of housing for at least some housing in every section so that people can save money if they live in the city, and not have to leave their communities and be far from their friends and family. \n\notherwise eventually people get sick of the hustle and it’s too tiring to travel 1+ hrs each way to visit someone during Monday to Friday. \n\n20 years ago any professional could at least buy a condo. Not today. There is too much competition now and investors are allowed to buy up all the most affordable housing that once was a pathway to owning a home. \n\nRich policy makers got greedy and destroyed canada and hopefully diversity in leadership will help make Canada better. But they perhaps people knew to Canada can reject this lonely structure and help us rebuild Toronto into an amazing place. \n\nWe need to make sure everyone can afford housing with 30% of their income. I think that will help

I spent a couple yrs downtown Toronto when I was in my older teen years and that was before the open drug issue and even back then it was bad u had to watch out for being robbed or r@p*d it was so bad back then I ended up going back home and choose jail over the streets. Got my shit over and done with and since then life has been good changed my life 360 and have a loving family 2 sons and now I’m up living in Algonquin (beautiful area)

This is very true. I am an Austrian citizen that tried to immigrate into Canada from 2021-2023, I worked my ass off, working 2 jobs for most of my stay and living as cheaply as possible. I still burned through all my savings and a significant amount of money my family sent me to help out. I had an accident and waited for hours for an ambulance to show up, they transported me to a different city because in this town none of the two hospitals had a fucking X-Ray machine. Then the next morning the hospital in the other city kicked me out again, with a fucked up back, because there were no beds available. Had to call my neighbours to come pick me up again (thank you Tracy, love you) because I couldn't get home anymore. Lost one of my jobs thanks to this and started a different one, couldn't afford live in BC anymore and moved to Winnipeg because I heard live there is cheaper. It is, but not significantly so, but you pay for this by living in terrible conditions. Rent was still high, salary was shit, the public transport system is.... Existent but not reliable and the city is so incredibly dirty. There's garbage everywhere. Between my apartment and the nearest dollar store was one garbage can and that was a 20-30 minute walk, here in Vienna there's garbage cans everywhere and thanks to them the city is cleaner. \n\nAnyways, I gave up on moving to Canada and came home. Still dealing with my fucked up back (though it's getting better thanks to Physio and a good doctor) and the debt I accrued in the last few years. But my apartment costs less than half for the same size, my job earns me significantly more money, my phone plan is better and costs less than half and the food is both much much cheaper and much much better. \n\nI am happy with life now. Thank you Canada for showing me how bad even other parts of the developed world are, I really learned to appreciate Austria while I was away.

You should have gone to the Alexandra hotel, it functions as a hotel as well as a place for cheaper living for the homeless I’ve stayed there as a guest visiting Toronto many times and have heard so many different story’s from the homeless that live there now. The park itself (Alexandra park) next to the hotel has many homeless there too. There was a time I went to stay in Toronto for the weekend and couldn’t find anywhere to stay hotels were booked up or too expensive for my budget and one of the people that were living in Alexandra park overheard me when I tried to check in and offered a tent and food it was very welcoming I stayed with them for a few hours but ended up leaving because my ex had seen my story about not having anywhere to stay for the night and busses were done for the way back to Muskoka and got to stay with her. A lot of the homeless I met at the park weren’t addicts just got dealt a bad hand and had nowhere else to go, this was back in 2020. I’ve recently stayed at the Alexandra hotel this past summer for the exhibition and smashing pumpkins concert and it’s just the same as before. Heartbreaking the stories you hear but a very welcoming hotel and great what they do for the less fortunate.

I was moving back to Edmonton in October 2023 and the vacancy rate was 0.0001% the apartment I got, if i did not take it (the area is so rough) I would have had to stay with a friend and hoped and prayed that in November more people were moving so something else could/would become available. \n\nThen I talked to everyone in this building. Once the 1 year lease is up they months rent 250$ so they suck you into a an apartment where homeless are sleeping in the laundry room smoking meth for $1000 and then up the rent to 1250$ and the area is like the ones you were exploring. If anyone knows Edmonton it’s a block off 118 ave or Alberta Avenue. And I work at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (inner city) it’s heart breaking ?. It was always bad but since moving to the country in 2020 and coming back late 2023 the decline is devastating. Even a very close friend of mine went from packing her kids lunches, working casually (when they needed) as a janitor at Edmonton public school board to staying at salvation Army and it getting full to living in Tent City. Canada has been ruined by immigration but to be more specific Indians, they are everywhere, in PEI every single service industry job has been taken over by them and so a stigma is created working in fast food, gas stations, ect. Canada has always been expensive. I moved here from Texas for my wife. This isn't the same Canada I moved to though. It's far worse. The job market is crap. It's difficult to get a job in your field. It's easy to get useless jobs that have no long term career opportunities. Real estate is atrocious. Ninety year mortgages? That's just crazy. I don't foresee owning a home in Canada. Rent has gotten so high we refuse to move. We need a bigger place, but we can't afford it. The healthcare is not good, and the wait times are ridiculous. I got better healthcare when I paid out of pocket, but under provincial insurance it's pretty bad. It also doesn't have full healthcare like the UK. At least paying for insurance in the States, everything was covered. Wages suck, benefits are generally bad or nonexistent. My wife is finally about ready to get the hell out.

I immigrated here back in 2019, by the time I became a citizen in 2023, I was just astonished at the level of immigration and international students. I hate how schools exploit them for cash, their education quality is so so bad, its unimaginable, and you can't blame the teachers even, each class is like 300-450 students. The quality of education is so bad in Canada, I don't know if it was good before but I can only imagine it was since these universities are well known here. Students loans have become a business for banks and lenders and I guess that gave the universities ideas on making a business out of exploiting poor country's wealth though international students.

[ Coming from a student ] - Nobody is to Blame beside THE GOVERNMENT! They mislead many international students to come here without even checking if the Colleges exist! They just kept giving visas to many students and when students reach here then they realize they made a big mistake especially after looking at the present bad economy and giving the tuition money to these money grabbers (GOVERNMENT AND COLLEGES). And to make it worse you have to pay 10k to the banks before coming which is now 20k and then the students pay 3 times the money compared to Canadian students, Which to pay-off, a lot of these students do all kind of jobs for so many hours a weeks just to pay the fees and their living bills. Hence, the reason for them not able to focus on their studies properly, less work for other folks and every other things which is effected. As a Student I was financially fine which was the main reason for my pretty much smooth journey here but not everyone has the same backups. I feel really bad for the students and hope this money grabbing madness stops and the immigration for at least 3- 4 years.....

The government's idea of expediting residency for students was a bad idea from the beginning - of course, it was going to be exploited by bad actors to basically be a back door for immigration. I think that is a big problem initially, but it is easy to learn a language, before going to that country. The weather there is not as cold as it is in Canada. Most of the population are Muslims, so you will find the required atmosphere to practice your belief freely and safely without worries or fear. Wow I am so amazed how Toronto has changed! I used to live there for 6 years and it was amazing, Toronto has a special place in my heart I had a great time I met wonderful people and learnt a lot, however, the city has changed in a very bad way which is sad to hear at some point I was seriously considering going back but I suppose I will have to let it go.

Toronto has become a big injection center for drug addicts, that's one of the reasons I left Canada. It was so depressing to see that everyday downtown Toronto or pretending not to see them but the fact is, it was way too depressing and I didn't want to see them anymore. Also, places such as Moss Park have become a shooting place at night for no reason so taking a walk in the park' without taking big risk wasn't an option anymore. Not to mention the cost of living for such a bad quality of life, barely being able to afford buying some basic products such as milk or vegetables. Canada has become so bad. So glad I left and I don't regret it for one minute. There are so many better and friendlier countries out there.

Just the last 2 days, 2 woman lost their life because of being beaten to death by their husband... \n\nThis country is failing and failing fast because it doesn't take care of its population anymore... it is a doom country and immigration was the nail in the coffin. i have never been to Canada but i do have plenty of friends who are tried of living in Canada. I live in Malaysia and I do love in here and things are very easy going. The best part is the accessibility to halal food everywhere you go you can easily find Halal food and people in general are very friendly and also helpful too. I have been living in Malaysia for the past 20yrs and I enjoy in here. I was born and brought up in the UAE but I love Malaysia as my home. The cost of living in here is on the raise but it is not so bad as in many other countries so far. The Malaysian government is doing the best possible to keep a control of the inflation. You can have the choice because you have the Canadian Passport so you can move on and settle mostly where ever you can. Depending on your income off course. While I was driving back from Bangkok to Pattaya, I stopped by a rest room area and I saw that there are Prayer Room for both man and woman! Even in the Bangkok airport you will find prayer spot! All the super market in Thailand has prayer room. I am seen Muslim women working on super mall in Pattaya while my daughter was chanting Kalima they were clapping on her! \n\nMy suggestion, if you would like to feel safe and be safe then Medina has opened up a business visa opportunity where you can get in and stay and may stay al song and you can. OR if you want to have mix of both them Malaysia is great. Also if you think you can take a little / slightly challenge situation staying and Dawah then THailand is the perfect place! Because you will find Muslims and halal food any corner in Thailand, Masjid is available all part of the country even on an Island! You can even walk with wearing Lungi and Punjabi with Tupi.

#3 was the biggest one (imo) that made me think. I can't imagine what it's like to have to live day to day with those worries and fears about yourself AND your children. As a mother of 3 myself, there is already so much to worry about when it comes to our children, without the added fear of visible religion being added to that. I have never once thought about what it would be like, if I was raised in a religion where it was visible to others, how that would have impacted me, nor have I ever passed a thought as a parent. And for that, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that you have to live with those worries and fears each day. I'm sorry that people of Muslim religion are bullied and targeted on a daily basis. My family moved 22 years ago from Mumbai to Toronto…while the struggles said on your channel are real, there are also perks which I feel like you didn’t get to experience. If people have good jobs, stable family life then DON’T move…culture shock is huge that people moving from India don’t consider, just by wearing and eating western food doesn’t make you western! \nThere are sacrifices to be expected which you don’t realized as your great grandparents or grandparents might have made when they started out! \nMoving to another country is never easy, unless you’re loaded with $$$. People in India are lazy as they have people working for them and don’t realize how difficult it is living outside of that lifestyle (not everyone in India can afford housekeepers, cleaners). Being independent and doing things on your own has its own positive (just need to figure it out). \n\nI have worked in healthcare for 16 years and let me tell you…social system works better as everyone gets the health service without being judged about $$. Healthcare is based on priority around the world but people don’t understand this as they feel like their problem should be attended first no matter what! \nNot all drugs are legal in Canada, marijuana is legal though with acceptable limits…you probably were misinformed about drugs! Teach your kids about right /wrong when it comes to drugs, smoking, alcohol and that’s the best you can do! I know people who live in India and do all that which you mentioned you were worried about for your kids. \n\nWhat you experienced was a classic case of culture shock and your expectations didn’t match the reality! Even people living in India avoid outside food due to hygiene reason which is not a problem in Canada as food inspection is pretty strict (having worked with ministry of health). \nCities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, etc has variety of food options (including veg)…just have to be really open to trying other cultural food (Asian, Mediterranean, Italian,Mexican, etc). My parents are strict vegetarians and have never truly struggled when they are out. \n\nCost of living is definitely higher as the standard living is higher compared to India. Education (until grade 12) and healthcare are free (in reality, you pay tax for it), you get pension when you retire (based on your contributions and type of jobs you had)…you failed to navigate the system and I will say having family around is why you didn’t take opportunity to explore and learn on your own. \n\nPlease don’t come to Canada and make life difficult for other Indians who choose to willingly accept the culture and lifestyle here after going through this hardship- cost of living and housing has gone up dramatically in major cities because of immigration influx! The province of Quebec which is still part of canada (don't tell them that) has the language police to be as anti-american and any democratic as possible, they only tolerate english if it is in US$ and tax other taxes with the most expensive bloated government of any state north of Mexico. I lived and worked in TO in a few areas for several years. I left in 2016. I am glad I left before it got bad. I started witnessing more racist comments on subway and platforms were becoming too crowded. After 30 plus years I moved to live in a rural area before moving to live in a similar setting to where I grew up in Oakville. I do love TO and it has so much to offer. I worked downtown and just could not keep up. I spent my spare time walking along the beaches especially Scarborough Bluffs and skating at Harbourfront on a weekday. These are fond memories that I will cherish.\n\n I heard that the shelters were over crowded and unhealthy places. I met a nice man in my building who was successful, lived on street for 13 years before successfully integrating into low-income housing. I learned the most from his stories and met some of the most fabulous people in the worst buildings. I had to leave for safety and mental health reasons. I could not see myself remaining in TO without support. \n\n I made the right move in the right time. Not everyone can afford city living. My quality of life and mental health are better but I cherish the friendships I made in TO. My Grandfather was a Mcleod and I am amazed how much you look like my mother when she was younger. I wonder if the reason so many in so many places believe that medical care is a problem is actually a matter of expectations. I know that in the 90s, my little town in Kansas had as many imaging machines as the entire country of Canada, but Canadians were certain they had superior medical care, as did the English. Expectations.\nEven then, if something was so bad that only a silver bullet treatment would possibly help, they still send patients to the USA because they are not equipped to help. It withholds information on the cost of living, chicken-and-egg problems like Canadian work experience is required to get a job at the same level as you are in, Canadian credit history is required to rent a proper apartment, Canadian education is required to secure a high-level job, etc. \n\nHiring process: I knew the Canadian system was not ideal for immigrants over a decade ago, but it got so bad now that even the born citizens are unable to survive. The Canadian government and employers lack a basic understanding that ambitious, high-achieving people immigrate to other countries for high-level positions using proper channels. It's ridiculous to see that Canada uses a point-based system to choose highly qualified personnel to enter their country yet expects them to pursue low-paying entry-level or labor jobs just because they have brown/black skin. At first, I thought having a Canadian degree and experience might help me get high-level jobs, and I didn't think how I spoke or looked would matter when I had high credentials to show off. So, I got my masters & Ph.D. from the Univesity of Toronto, which consistently ranks #1 in Canada. I have a bachelor's from a prestigious university in Asia and had a high-competitive, well-paid federal government job in another country. Still, none of that was recognized in Canada, and I had to volunteer for over 6 months, 10 to 12 hours/day, in a research lab that led to a funded PhD program. I worked even harder during my Ph.D. with many accomplishments, like 40+ research and leadership awards, internationally recognized scientific discoveries, and innovative technologies. I checked all the above and beyond in various domains (research, teaching, leadership, business, engineering consulting, collaborations, etc.). Yet, employers couldn't see past my race, gender, age, etc., and refused to give me the opportunity at the level of my qualifications. Luckily, I managed to secure short-term work in the UK & the US, and it changed even how I see myself. I was highly respected for my credentials, given higher positions than I applied for, and paid 3-4 times more salary and benefits. Of course, bias is an integral part of every society, but my race, gender, age, etc., were not as big of an issue to begin my career at the mid-career stage in these countries as opposed to Canada. \n\nHealthcare: Access to healthcare was another big challenge for me. When I moved to Canada in 2010, due to extremely low temperatures, I developed hives all over my body, my eyes got red, and I coughed for many months. The doctor said there was nothing wrong with me and refused to give me any medication. It took us years to get a family doctor, and we got one through my personal network. In 2015/2016, I developed an autoimmune disease, and my eyeballs popped out. As of today, I did not get to see an eye specialist as they have only 1 specialist in the area, and the waiting time is for years for the first consultation. Every time the family doctor told me that I had iron deficiency, even when I insisted that they should run additional tests and they cleared, they were flagged. The doctor never diagnosed my autoimmune condition. Luckily, during my short-term work in the UK, I saw competent interns who completed my care. NHS is poorer than the medical system in Canada... they are understaffed, don't have hospital beds after surgery, or don't have stock of paper gowns, yet the staff are highly competent and caring. Within 1-2 years, they did complete diagnosis by sending me to various specialists, completed eye surgery, and even found a lifelong condition that was preventing me from realizing my full potential. Following, in the US, the doctors confirmed the diagnosis of all the conditions within 1-2 months and put me on two small pills for life. It has dramatically changed my life, and I have even more admiration for the medical profession. While in Canada, I suffered for over a decade, and every time, I was treated as a hypochondriac and never given a single prescription. \n\nQuality of life: Big cities like Toronto are mainly affected by high crime rates, overpopulation, cost of living, low employment, low salaries, etc. A few months back, there was a huge auto theft, and one of my contacts lost their Lexus car within minutes of parking. Despite being a scientist, I have no faith in politicians or individuals fixing these problems. The salaries are not increasing, but the taxes and cost of living are on the exponential growth curve. The ridiculous part is that Canada expects you to pay taxes even when you are not employed or living in Canada! I lived in London and Boston, and they offer a much higher quality of life and pay. \n\nGrowth potential: No wonder Canada, being a G7 country, falls at the bottom of the list in innovation, equal opportunities, economic growth, etc. It has a decent education system but, due to its inherent bias in the hiring process and monopoly of certain businesses, loses talented immigrants and highly qualified Canadians to the US, the UK, and EU markets. Unless there is a dramatic shift in policies, Canadians, especially new immigrants, cannot expect any positive experience in Canada except for being discriminated against and losing valuable time and money by being there.
