This is my first time viewing one of your videos, Alina. You are inspiring! Thank you for your honesty, a reality that so many of us share. My family and I moved here 26 years ago with next to nothing in terms of worldly possessions. Our kids grew up here, went to university here and, working two jobs at the same time, we were blessed to be able to buy our own home eventually. We are proudly Canadian, but so much is changing that my wife and I are considering retiring elsewhere due to financial constraints (our home is our only asset). Thank you for the video.

Honestly, you seem full of it. The description lists a whole bunch of generalities that don't affect 90% of the people.. You don't leave a country because tents are popping up downtown or the economy is stagnant. Nothing new, it was worse actually in the 90's yet most people were just A OK living and playing here. You should not have made the video until you can disclose your actual personal reasons and destination. As it is it seems dumb to even talk about it.

That video isn't telling you all the truth. In fact Germany needs more foreign labour. But the amount of money you can make hear depends on your education. You have to differ between a software engineer and a nurse.\nAnd the second issue is where do you want to live. Cities like munich and Berlin are extremely expensive.\nBut small place like Magdeburg or Kassel are quite cheap,. but not very interested at all

I understand you dont want to wait to tell people where you are hoping to move to until its official, but i think you should have said where this ideal location is for you and your business in this video because it might have helped other people watching who are in a similar situation to you where they have a small buisness and are struggling in canada. It would be unfortunate for those people to have to wait months to kearn of the conclusions to your research when knowing now vould possibly save them from catastrophic consequences as the standard of living seems to be rapidly declining in canada.

I saw your happiness when you stayed with that family, in Bulgaria, I think. Remember that young man who shadowed you around their farm. Beautiful scenery with mountains in the background, and that unique wooden chapel. I thought you could start a general store there, with teas and coffee bar of your own! IDK, just had a thought about this place when I saw your video about that place a couple of years back. My biggest concern for your safety is that you find a place that is free of war! Canada is a beautiful country but screwed up by bad government. The situation in Canada is not positive and will continue to deteriorate. There are many countries now that the qualities of life are better than Canada now. I wish you happiness in finding a new place to live and continue your interesting video blogs especially in Asia.

I was watching your video and it hurts me with how things are nowadays with everything skyrocketing in prices and the job market is not doing well, at least over here in Florida. I live in Miami and it's an expensive city to live in but the economy is not doing well here but overall I do love the city of Miami as I was born and raised here for the majority of my life. If you ever decide to move to the USA to the state of Florida, Central Florida is affordable and the cost of living is better than South Florida and the environment is more mellow. I think it is largely due to really poor and incompetent leadership and to some extent, a lack of independence to do what is best for Canada instead of another country. It is like we are paying backwards, where our money earned right now is taken away from us to pay for the pensions of retired people who earned those rights to a government pension years or decades ago during their working lives. We are then given points, with the hope that the next generations one day pay for our own pensions. See the problem?\n\nInstead, people’s hard earned monthly payments towards pension could have instead have been invested for them into actively-managed portfolios of bonds, equities and commodities. Thereby, each and every person currently on pension could have enjoyed the benefits of decades of compounding growth!\n\nNow we are here, as the video says, 2 workers are needed to cover the pension of 1 retired person. This is absolutely absurd and they will never be able to attract 400,000 new skilled workers every year with the current issues highlighted in this video.\n\nMy best advice - when you are working in Germany, seriously think about it to save and invest a portion of your net income and prepare yourself for a future where you cannot solely rely on your German pension!

After watching your video u have some point. But since 2020 Canada donated to much money to Ukraine and also getting immigrants. If you apply for a us visa they also don't give any reasons for denying your visa application. There are sign boards put up in the US visa office that say funerals of near and dear ones are not valid reasons for emergency visa. These ppl in the video may be of indian origin but are us citizens. Don't think the Indian official has to justify why their visa was denied

Your research for healthcare system is not accurate. If we talk about some special cases like gynaecologist you don’t have to wait for such long time as you mentioned in your research in this video……. Hi Febby, stumbled upon your video and wanted to know your experience in Canada. As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. Really chicken and egg problem like you mentioned. And this issue can't readily be fixed with the way Canadian government operates. Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Reduced foreign ownership in our home real estate market (home should be for families, and not financial assets for international businesses).\n\nAnd like the video said some more darn infrastructure. In my childhood, I saw entire neighbourhoods being built in - timely fashions. Now it’s rare to see a single home under construction in my home city. Some smaller Canadian towns I know even lack potable water.\n\nWith the market so bad no one wants to build or buy which is just amplifying the issue.\n\nAnd no carbon tax. I apologize for getting political, but the last 10 years the federal government seems to be more concerned with values and foreign intervention than fiscally responsible decisions. Every country has a positive side and a negative side. I understand that you are exploring the dark side of Canada in this video. However many of your points lack logic. The first point is not hypocrisy as every country makes/modifies its policies keeping in mind what is good for that country, so that is not hypocrisy. We are making a conscious choice when we are planning to study in Canada, Canada doesn't guarantee anyone PR or anything else, you just become eligible but that doesn't make you demand for it.... There are many basic logical points you have missed.... I would like to bring your attention to the unjust practices going on in Australia. They have recently made an amendment to the Temporary visa laws that bars students above 35 years of age from getting a TR if they are pursuing masters by coursework degree. It was not so earlier and just like that changed the law and students like me are left in limbo. I have completed 1 year of my MBA and now I have no where to go. I have lakhs of education loan on my head. One of my friend is moving back to India after 1 semester and she has spent till date around 30 lakh rupees. So please make a video on this topic and highlight to the world how these countries play with international students.

Its a well made video. A lot of points you have covered like housing , healthcare, student GIC is correct.\nSome of the things are not completely understood, as you are not here .\nMedical system had dental and eye care included but as they increased the immigrant population they did not keep up with services( am talking abt this change which happened in 1990s) .\nHousing is a result of the present govt policies. 2016- you could buy a house for 300k same which is over 1.1-1.3 million right now.\nThey got a lot of indian students here. \nNot blaming any, they are here for a future and they have spent money to be here but i have seen a lot of things happening which were not here before.\nOur people comming here need to understand that we will have to mix and take up some habbits from here. Agression, road rage are some of the things which were less here before.\n\nThe people are pushing back on immigration, i am an immigrant myself. Its a divide which was not seen before 2020 here though once you step out of your own country you will always be looked at differently, its the same as a north indian in south india or a south indian in north india but with a different tone.\n\nThe country has gone down, bad govt policies. Since you both decided to make a video with half truths, let me educate you- \n1. A student visa is a temporary visa and literally no country promises permanent residence on a student visa. Scam consultants in India, shady colleges in Canada and spurious potential students line up to abuse the system. Good that Canada is pushing back \n2. Amazon wale bhaiya doesn’t exist in most developed nations with high cost of labour. Would you rather take your Amazon return package to a mail centre or get paid less at your job\n3. Average home price is $300k in 2024\n4. Around 43% can afford a primary residence in Canada which is bad but not as bad as 10%\n5. lol I agree that safe supply was a stupid decision but Canada is not ridden with homelessness and drug use. Far from it actually\n6. Dental, vision and prescription meds are typically covered by employer insurance. There are govt policies in most provinces to cover these for low income families and seniors in most provinces. lol there’s no way it’s cheaper to go to a dentist in India \n7. Wait times for specialists are bad but if it’s urgent, one may access a specialist as soon less than a week. And no, babus don’t define it its an emergency, doctors do \n\nWho’s the hypocrite now? Canada, with all its recent problems is still miles better than India

I agree with most of the information in this video. I lived in Canada from 2015-2021. When i used to attend college, parking lot always smelled like weed. People were always lined up at the “recreation drugstore” even in excruciating cold. Also, the job market is bad, most of the employers are racist. Permanent residency is very hard to get. Free health care is actually not free. It is deducted from your every single pay checks. If you had any emergencies, be ready to wait for more than 10+ hours; sometimes more than that. I remember when back in 2015, prime minister justin, got more than 5 thousand Syrian refugees, and people were complaining that they are currently facing job shortages, housing issues and many other things but their needs were completely ignored. I recently visited Canada, and it’s getting worse now, lots of traffic, crime and homeless people. I would still recommend if you want to go and get educated because the education system is good. But if your goal is only for settlement then i would suggest to apply for permanent residence first.

What ever problems you showed in the video is only related to International Students. But at the same time when International students come to Canada to study not to settle. When CBSA always asked them how long is your study and what would you do after your studies are completed. Every student would tell them that they will go back to their country once their student work permit is finished. Then CBSA will allow you to enter Canada. Go tell them when you come to airport that you wanna stay here for ever they will kick you out right away. I don't know why students are protesting when they knew the rules for students are different from other categories. And it is changing every year. The problem is international students not the Canadian Govt. Indians know this is the easy way to get into Canada. Canada is a free country to everyone there is no discrimination . I have seen 50 year people from India coming to Canada for study but actually they want to settle here. Drugs problem is everywhere in the world. India also has druggists and mafias. Indian are in much better condition here than India. Fresh air, clean water, work and personal life balance, free health care, Freedom to live and work any where ...Canadian passport is Top 5 in the world. India don't come close to Canada. so please don't mislead people on the you tube

Agreed with all your points and thanks for sharing. But honestly, I fail to understand two points here. 1. People living in Canada and commenting that it is true and they are baffled with this whole situations, when exactly you are coming back to India? People will tell you that they want to come back but no one will. It is because those who actually left for Canada in order to have a better lifestyle are still having a better lifestyle in Canada and they will never return back (atleast in the near future). They left for Canada citing the reasons that India is polluted and they are toured based on religion (you know exactly whom I am talking about) but whatever the case is...they are still not coming back. 2. No country is perfect, I agree that Canada has its own problems to deal with but then why Indians are leaving for US, UK and Australia where racisms and cost of living high too? It is because they have issues with India too and those who have issues with a well diverse and prospered country like India, will have problems in other country as well. So if you don't wanna come to Canada, all good but other countries have same problems as well (atleast 80% matches the points discussed in the video - exclude drug ofcouse).
