We need to be even tougher. I predict this is going to get horrible if we don't get really tough.

When I go to the hospital in Canada I don't have to wait if people think that then they're wrong and then I get treated and don't pay a thing so I hope Americans understand that they pay thousands of dollars for healthcare that most Canadians can walk in and get for free,, yes it comes off our taxes but everybody in the country taste those taxes even if they don't use Healthcare so it helps people that are really in need

I'm all for legal immigration but I don't think the US can handle any more people at the moment. I don't know about anyone else, but it's been brutal for me personally to find a job for a couple of months just to get by until my other job is good to go for the season. I've never had to claim unemployment (I always found another job within a week or two), and I've been suffering for the past 6 months. I'm more than qualified for some of the applications I have filled out, but yet I feel like just because I'm a white woman, I get skipped over. I've applied to around 50-70 jobs and only had 2 interviews. Thankfully, I still live at home, but if i didn't, I'd be wayyy more screwed. I believe America needs to take care of it's legal citizens first, then we can worry about others.

Why are people who came into our country illegally expecting to get on an airplane when there's 104 of them and only a few police officers and airline pilots. I would not have unlocked their cuffs either. Who knows what crimes these people committed. Even if the only crime they committed was coming into the country illegally, don't expect to sit on a plane not shackled.

Don't join to use my money to get surgery. With that said if your all ready trans and have the full body of your opposite sex; and are okay with times you don't get drugs every day then I dont care. Also women can not keep up with men on the ground and if they can and pass all the tests that men do, without a handicap and if drugs are not available then they should be ok with that. If a trans women flys then more power to that person but they should have the complete body of a women. In sports there are no cis women trans in mens sports, there is a reason for that. Men are stronger than women even with drugs, and women are weaker then men even with drugs and that is why no men are complaining about women playing in their sports. The enlistment is higher than in over 15 years.

Democrats want you to believe the opposite is true because they value your vote more than your quality of life.\n\n6. It's not the government's money, it's your money. You absolutely should give a damn about how it is spent.\n\n7. We are not the World Bank. If other countries need help they should raise their own finances. I don't recall receiving any hurricane relief money from India or China.\n\n8. Drill baby, drill. Want to know why? Because we have it. Are electric cars the future? Not in their current form. There is way more oil in the ground than lithium, and guess where most of that is? China. Want food prices to come down? Then energy costs have to come down. And that means oil, gas, coal, and nuclear. Unicorn farts and liberal tears won't power your car!\n\n9. The economy and the security of the country are far more important than your feelings, get over it.\n\n10. There are men and there are women. Simple as that.\n\n11. I have a lot of sympathy for these people, especially considering many gave up everything they had to pay smugglers to get this far while our government was effectively letting everyone in while offering additional incentives such as money and temporary housing. That said, if we don't have borders we don't have a country. Add on the massive welfare state that they will all become burdens on, either immediately or eventually, and it becomes clear to anyone with a little bit knowledge and common sense that the policies of the Biden administration that allowed things to get this bad, if not stopped immediately, would mean the end of the middle class, the further impoverishment of the lower class and massive benefits for the wealthiest among us. And when I say wealthy I'm not talking about the guy making 7 figures. I mean those who control billions, either directly or indirectly. You know, the same people who have the power to influence political parties to enact such policies and push narratives by the corporate media that state anyone who questions the policy is racist, greedy, heartless, or xenophobic.

As a young Canadian-born adult who applied to 40-50 entry level jobs and still got nothing, I strongly support prioritizing Canadians over immigrants, temporary foreign workers and International students. If Canadians are struggling to find work, then it's no surprise newcomers would also struggle to get a job. Canadians on Canadian soil must take priority. We can't take care of others and perform our best if we don't take care of ourselves. ?

The main reason is, that Indians do not want to go back to their country, and we Indians are so smart that we play the Western law against western countries to remain in foreign land. We are losing their trust. It's not about the passport index but it is about trust. Western countries mostly run on trust. If you get a chance to travel there, you'll understand what I am talking about, example, they trust people will not break the law at signals so they don't have police at signals, the airport has no security at the entrance gate, etc.

Yeah I'm Canadian with a lot of health issues yeah you don't have to pay but sometimes the wait can be long like 21 hours at the emergency + the time to see the er doc and if you need tests that would make it longer. Just recently my waiting time was 16 hours. I live in Ontario and we get a lot of Quebec people because their waiting time can be way much longer.

I went to NZ for a holiday a year ago. Honestly, the Kiwis don't like Indian at all. I have one broker who asked me if I can get him 20 to 30 people from the Philippines because he wants to get rid of his Indian employees. \nAccording to him, they complain a lot and are very lazy. \nI mean, I have no idea if it's true, but it was just based on this local perspective.

The passport ranking is because of how Indians behave in general. If I was a nation I would make sure I don't let too many Indians in. And I would also make sure that the process is difficult enough to dehumanize them as they try to get to my country. \n\nAs an Indian I am happy that this is happening. They are indians in usa, I don't understand why they needed visa if they are NRI they should have indian passport and if they have usa passport and have renounced indian citizenship, why did they not apply for OCI. i guess they never planned to come to india that often and this is just an one of affair so they didn't bother to get the OCI. Canadian's are forced out there apartments, then they rent them at a higher price to people from India they get more for rent. We don't see anyone from other countries living on the streets it's Canadians who built this country . Yes, unfortunately, the good times are over in Canada. I worked very hard during my working years and lived a good life back them. I retired a couple of years before the liberal clown government took over, and now it is a struggle to just get by. I certainly don't blame any younger people for leaving here. If I were a young man, I would be headed out the door as well.

I know if i dont pay my mortgage for three months, the bank doesn't care why they just haven't been paid, and i will get kocked out. Why the double standard for tenants who don't pay? Landlords should be able to kick them out if they haven't paid for three months. Birth is not a right to citizenship. That father abandoned his wife and children. They can't be in that much danger if they don't need his protection. They're spending lots of money to try and get here for the bigger handouts. I Don't have a job and like many Americans who are unemployed have been filling out applications for months for nothing. I'm doing just fine in Canada, where I've lived my whole life except for 7 years in Japan. Any difficulties people having comes down to the individual, not a systematic national problem. My rent in Vancouver is under $1000, because I haven't moved in 11 years. I have no debt, no car, no expensive lifestyle, no drug habit. I made good choices. Others have not.\n\nCanada is still a land of opportunity if you get a job, get your vaccines, live within your means and don't expect a 1950s style economy, anyone can do fine. Healthcare access needs improvement, but we had a pandemic. The whole world did. \n\nIf you feel like you can't make it in Canada, you have no one to blame but yourself. Everything is relative. And we are living in the safest, cleanest, most stable times ever. Certainly not the cheapest.\n\nCheers - an NDP/Liberal serial voter (and big believer in personal responsibility)

I don't get it what's the whole point of having a gun if you not going to use it

I believe it's common in other cultures to invite people who they've just met into their homes. In fact that's how they get to know people. Not so in Canada. Newcomers will sometimes be frustrated because they don't know how to meet people. The answer is to join activities or invite people to cafes. Join a sport group, or invite someone to coffee at a cafe in Canada. Each person normally pays their own bill. That's how you meet Canadians. That is how immigrants avoid being very lonely. True fact, I have a number of friends who have never seen the inside of my house or if they have, it was only from the front entrance. That's perfectly normal so new Canadians should not feel like they are not accepted.

There are 13 different cultures and societies associated through a federation with a central government in Ottawa. Every province is unique in its politics, social programs, even cultural events. Not every province and territory celebrates the same holidays, memorials or statutory holidays.\nPeople in Newfoundland are as different from the rest of Canada as the Scots and Irish are in their homelands. Alberta has cowboys, BC has sailors, Saskatchewan has wheat and Manitoba has the Guess Who and mosquitos. Ontario is just arrogant, Quebec is just Quebec. There is NOTHING Canadian about Quebec. If they had it their way they would have been independent since the 1750s. They don't even like to speak English. They do it out of obligation to the federation. \nThe Maritimes are again, unique unto themselves. They could easily be an independent nation and then their true culture would shine. All these gimmicks are being utilised to discourage the applicants and to force the genuine Credential Holders who could definitely contribute to boost the Economy in a fruitful manner to leave the country and to force them to get back into their home countrues. In that case why did the Federal Governments of Canada created a delusion to migrants from around the globe stating that there is an acute labour shortage in certain high demanding job categories, encouraging all such applicants to apply through the Skilled labour Program introduced by the Federal Government of Canada,. as if there are shiploads of opportunities available just for geabs.\nSuch individuals are driven to state of utter despair or forced to get back to their home countries whereas here the federal Government of Canada is granting Asylum to all sorts of unskilled , uneducated and sometimes no literacy nor basic communication skills in English at all at the expense of the taxes and high tuition fees acquired from the student population as well as PR Holders who has incurred massive expenditure through the federal Government's detailed and tough assessment procedures just to gain entry under the stipulated visa categories. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now.
