My husband and I were both immigrants to Canada, he from S. Africa, I from the UK. I never experienced any discrimination. My busband was diagnosed with late stage bone cancer at 31 years old. The medical care was so good that he lived another 6 mostly happy years. We were supported by the Ontario Health Care system with visiting nurses, even housekeepers and received every help we could possibly need, at no cost to us. I will always be grateful for the love and support we received from Canadian friends, employers and the medical professionals. What a country! I am in Europe now but feel strongly that Canada, the EU, Britain, the wonderful Ukrainians (I know quite a few refugees) and other countries of good will should work together for a better world. We are a family and families support each other in difficult times. Americans welcome when they are ready.

Trudeau is a clown. This is a guy who thwarts free speech and jailed his own people and took their money away during peaceful protests. Canada has enjoyed a a trade surplus against us forever. They also do not have to pay for military since they are right next to us. They should be doing whatever we want. Canada was sending recyclable trash to the Philippines. When the trash arrived it was not recyclable. Philippine president said stop sending but Canada continued to send it. So finally he said if you send one more ship, we will declare no war on you. And if that happened, without US help, even the Philippines would destroy Canada in a war. Way more fighting aged males and Canada has a worthless military. Canada has a GDP of 5-10% of US. So Trudeau acting tough is hilarious. Like a chihuahua barking at a grisly bear. If push came to shove, in the time of US war need, the US would simply take whatever it wanted from Canada. That's what happens when you don't develop your own substantial military-just like Europe now.

I am so ashamed of my government's actions towards Canada and Mexico that it isn't even funny. Trump needs to be impeached removed from office and imprisoned.

I effectively spent a chunk of my childhood in America with relatives. I treasured these memories, but now all the feelings of wonder and happiness when thinking of my visits to America have faded. Now I just think of how selfish it was to sabotage Canada. American private equities want to rock our system and buy up all they can and so I am happy we are watching for this. This means your vote and opinions DO count. I know it is incredibly difficult to reach for and find answers in a world where your president or primary candidate throws 'fake news' in your face on a regular basis. He is actually telling the truth. When he is not telling you is that he is a primary enabler of 'fake news'. To him, only his word is law, only his opinion matters, only he deserves to be on top, and he deserves authority over all of your lives. Do the right thing, we all have a civil duty to understand our candidates to the very best of our ability. When a man has been convicted of dozens of felonies, and we tell you that this is only what we were willing to expose. You may want start believing us. What's it about? It's about money. It's about a gangster family in the Whitehouse, and oligarchs in the administration, all trying to make as much money as possible. There's no other explanation possible. That's the only explanation that comes close to making any sense. Now more than ever, even if these tariffs are short-lived, Canada needs to move away from U.S. trade. This is necessary for the long term survival and prosperity of Canada. We need to make every effort to increase trade with the pacific rim, Europe and South America. There may be some short-term pain, but it has to happen. Given the events of the last few years in the U.S., Canadians have to realize that things can get even worse, and will likely never be the same. There is very little reason to believe that the ties Canada has had with the U.S. will ever be what they were, or indeed any reason to believe that that is even desirable now.

America doesn't need there trade, both Canada & Mexico was only worth about 2.3% of their entire GDP. It's a bad thing for Canada but it's not going to effect America, you'll probably see a temporary blip but it'll be back booming even better in no time.

We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. Trump is a horrible, horrible human. I am devastated over what he is doing. I've never once given Trump my vote and I'm not a lefty liberal. I knew if he was voted in he was going to cause world wide chaos. He has shown his character over and over and over...yet a large portion of American's just ignored it. This election wasn't about republicans or democrats or independents. This election was about humanity and global security. American's ignored the writing on the wall for their own singular wants/opinions. They stand with their Trump flags but only a few of them can actually explain any accurate information about his policy or legal issues and they condone his behavior. The majority of Trumpers claim to be 'Christians'. Christians voting for a man who is a bully, abuser, liar, predator, monger of power, impedes freedom of press and speech and aligns himself with a dictator. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. Yet many of you still believed the better choice was a psychopath. This election was important. We failed as a country by putting this man in office. No matter what party you align with, we failed. Yes, I want cheaper eggs. Yes, I really need cheaper groceries. But not over the safety of the globe. Not over the lives of the people and children being killed in an unprovoked war. Not over the safety of Europe. Not over ripping off our closest and favorite country that borders us. Not over losing our democracy and our allies. I don’t stand with anyone except the UNITED STATES Of AMERICA! But I want to make something very clear. We just went through 4 years of absolute hell with The Biden administration!! No way around it. I think Trudeau is the only one Canadian guilty of this problem. A French official disguised as a religious man was involved in drug trafficking with the Miami baggage handlers. People need to understand that the damage and fallout that will certainly come from all of the things that Donald Trump is doing is intentional. \nTrump's efforts to weaken NATO, destroying our relationships with our long-standing Western European allies, creating friction and distrust with our border countries of Canada and Mexico, taking a wrecking ball to all of our governmental institutions that hold this country together, sowing a lot of hatred and distrust among American citizens along racial and ethnic lines, using tariffs to destroy the American economy, efforts to cause Americans to lose trust in our courts, justice and Healthcare systems, trying to Villianize Zelensky of Ukraine while praising the dictator from Russia, is all part of a plan to weaken or maybe even destroy our country and to allow Russia to rise.\nIt is painfully obvious that Donald Trump is an agent for Vladimir Putin and Russia against the United States, Ukraine and the democracies of Europe. \nDonald Trump is a traitor! The Republicans in Congress need to do their jobs and remove him from office ASAP!

As an American, did that weasel Trudeau just threaten us?! Um, he better backstep while he still has time. Canada has NO product that we Americans cannot replace with an American made one in a matter of months. Fertilizer is an easy one, Our farmers just need to go back to using natural animal/yuman waste which is ecactly what used to be done. It even saves farmers billions $ because they create a use for waste they now pay to have to process for removal. Lumber and products are also an easy fix. We Americans have millions of acres of timber that actually NEEDS regular harvest to reduce the forest fires that plague us yearly. The list goes on, and not a single item cannot be MADE IN AMERICA that we currently get from Canada.

Canada (and many other countries) spent decades supporting the maintenance of US hegemony. Look what it got us? To a position where we're pretty much greatly dependent on, and at the mercy of the US. We need to invest more in our own country and make our own products. We should also trade with other countries regardless of what the US thinks of those countries. Trump wants Canada to put tariffs on China in the attempt to further impede that country's economic growth so the US will remain the economic hegemony. Never mind that a trade war with China would put Canada in an even worse position. Given the current events, I say we trade with China even more!

Hell, Canada doesn't even need to place a tariff on Teslas....no self-respecting Canadian or really no self-respecting human wants a Swastikar, even the new model SS, at any price.

Thank you Canada for being the first nation to stand up to this tyrant now maybe other nations will join in and show this tyrant of a president that even if we don't totally agree on each other's policies we as a world still need each other for a successful survival !!!

What Trump seems to try to get at most is the unfair act of the USMCA. Most trades benefited Canada, while Canada refused to provide the same fair trades. Sometimes Trump does say things that may have gone off track like fentyl handling on Canada's end and border handling. It seems like our borders at the time were less strict on the American side versus the Canadian side of the border. Trump did state multiple times that most countries like Canada were unfair to USA. Even with the USMCA, America got screwed by Mexico as will. America has been there helping and supporting and submitting to every country. Yet failed to support our own people when we need it, especially to clear up our own debts. Sadly, America is falling behind due to poor handling of Government Democrat corruption. I am neutral as both parties don't always provide the best solution for everyone. You have to pick who can help the American people. Seeing how corrupt the Democrats has ran America and the defacto behind of all the wars and money laundering has surprised me, and I hope the change with Trump will help everyone realize how screwed we all are in correcting those corruption that isn't really needed.

We have been looking and still do look to Canada as a model quite a bit and love Canada and Canadians to pieces. We Michiganders especially in the central and eastern UP and Detroit and Ann Arbor area are friends, coworkers, and family of Canadians. Some are even dual citizens. We *all* need to wake up that the US has, plain and simply, become a completely unreliable partner. With allies like these, nobody needs enemies. Hopefully Europe, Canada, Mexico and Ukraine can somehow band together to stand against this nonsense, because bowing to the trump administration will only embolden them to demand even more and blackmail each of us individually into submission.
