I worked since I was 14, (A lot of times evenings and weekends, several times, two jobs)! I am now 63, I got hurt at work! First I had to fight compensation for a year, ZERO $$$! Then I had to apply to get Disability Canada Pension because I can't physically work anymore.. (damaged back, head injury, I have to use a cane and knee braces to walk)! I spent my savings just surviving while being forced to fight for MY money from my own government for 5 years just to get a measly $300. a month! THAT'S IT! Luckily my spouse works , we paid off our house ten years ago! But, we still barely get by! Every person I speak to about my case with the government on the phone, can barely speak English and yell at me or are VERY impatient with me, because I can't understand THEM, they usually hang up! When I ask to please speak to someone IN Canada, they hang up, then I have to wait another hour to talk to someone else! (I went to 4 government funded agencies to see if I could possibly get a job working from home, because I have trouble getting out! All sent me somewhere else! One agency who is supposed to help disabled people in WPG, REES, the agent refused to talk to me or look me in the eye, * he got a supervisor to talk to me! Because he's Muslim and I'm Gay! They were continuously hostile/aggressive towards me without reason??? I volunteer at 2 different food banks , I've met TONS of people who have never worked a day in their lives, their family, parents, grandparents have never worked... EVER! Yet they have brand new trucks??? Still go to food banks? AND, several new Canadians who I've met, have never worked a day in Canada... Some with new cars??? Yet everyone else receives 10 times what I receive to live on??? I PAID TAXES ALL OF MY LIFE! We can't afford a car! Yet... I don't blame them! I would take it they offered! I blame our government (NDP, Libs, AND CONservatives) who don't give a crap about disabled and seniors in Canada! Or if you paid taxes all of your life , into a system that's supposed to help when you need it! ALL politicians in Canada just whore out their votes! I've volunteered for almost 40 years, also holding down jobs, helping others, I've never seen so may seniors and disabled people forced to access food banks and soup kitchens than the last few years! EVER! Disabled people have to constantly prove they are disabled enough to get kitchen scraps from sociopathic politicians who are over paid and under worked! Fees go up, taxes go up, housing goes up, property taxes go up, bus fairs go up, etc.. Services go WAY down! We can afford trillion$ in corporate welfare, but not help our own? Seniors can't afford to live in their homes anymore! YOU'RE WELCOME for paying for YOUR golden pensions pig politicians, and NOT helping us when we need it! POS!

They say racism is taught. And within young kids you can see and hear very clearly it totally can be as it’s heavily based on perspective. I'm a proud Canadian Immigrant of Indian origin. I came here to do specialized studies in Game Development. I took my time, and studied 6 years as an international student, paying 3x the tuition, sank $200,000 of hard earned money into the Canadian Education system — Not as a fast track gimmick to immigrate, but so I could achieve my dream as a Game Developer. This money was family income, earned on 1/4th the salary, taking 4x longer to save. I was a great privileged to me. Today 15 years later, no one would ever think I'm from India. I sound Canadian, I behave Canadian, I have Canadian values, and I am Canadian. I came here because I loved Canada. I would watch hours upon hours of indigenous history, and on my Citizenship day, I watched Juno Beach to celebrate. However I must say this... I suffered through s*icidal depression here for 8 years, because I had far less leverage here than in a developing country, and it's really telling what sort of situation we're all in... Rent caps in Canada were removed... The housing market was open to foreign investors / and real estate monopolies with a 20% year-on-year rise... Rents went from 1000$ to 2100$ MINIMUM for a 1 bedroom through Trudeau's term and the govt said "It's not a federal responsibility"... Auto insurance is like 2.5-3.5k a year in Ontario and if you get a dent, you pay a deductable... I was quoted 8500$ for two wisdom teeth surgeries while it costed me 260$ abroad... During Covid - property owners, banks, and grocery stores exploited our misery and made record profits!... The govt stopped filtering through it's immigrants with "interviews", and it's operating like a scam — "Bring all your foreign money, convert it to CAD, and keep our GDP stable.. while we neither have the infrastructure, nor the job market to support these numbers". I think some accountability is due... these issues are "symptoms", not the problem — The problem is our Liberal govt / policies, and our wonderful voting body who voted Liberal term after term after term while complaining. Why does this govt safeguard extremism, foreign politics, foreign separatism? Khalistanis are as much of a threat / nuance to India than it is to Canada, but in Canada they actually have a unrestricted platform. Instead of resenting immigrants, we need to start resenting how mismanaged Canada is by our govt, and hold our voting body accountable. We had a chance to vote differently, but once again a repackaged and rebranded Liberal term. Because my ethnicity is Indian, I've become an object of collective resentment / hatred, and I don't think that's fair.. Please direct it at your vote, and govt level policies. Why should I (and other's like me) be crucified with the sins of other immigrants? It's like hating all your neighbors in a burning building, when the management has been lighting the fire.

My mother came to Canada in 1965 with her family. She learned how to speak english by watching kids shows on TV. She had 4 girls by 1979. She could speak fluent English by that time. We lived in low rentals with other immigrants. It was all about one another. The many different cultures came together and shared. We were all dirt poor, but we all accepted one another for who we are. No one was better than another. Every kid I grew up with was a tried and true Canadian. Every single one became a citizen if they weren't born here. We all learned from one another. This Canada? It's not the Canada I know. I was born in Ontario. Many of my family members are still there. They're looked down upon. What? They're Canadians but they're looked down upon for being in that same small town. It's Sad. We need another peaceful protest in Ottawa. Save our Canada.

At the end of the day, I don’t think people should be projecting their anger at immigrants and the only reason they should project their anger immigrant is if they’re bringing a nuisance and not follow the lawBut for being in Canada, that’s the government’s fault. The government kind of screwed everybody here, the immigrants, and the citizens of this country.. by bringing so many people into Canada these guys are also struggling. I almost think I wonder if there was some kind of like an underpayment that government officials got from these universities because a lot of of the people that come to the country as students they have to take some kind of a course and pay twice or three times as much as Canadian do.

No doubt about it, Canada is for Canadians. If you wanted to, you could deport millions of immigrants, but let's be real about the cost. The Canadian economy, its pensions, its farms, and its health sector all rely on immigrants to pay taxes and fill jobs. It's not some big conspiracy about population replacement; it's just about the economy. You can't have one without the other. Canadians aren't the only ones dealing with this. In Asia and Africa, it's a different kind of immigrant, the ones with money who buy up land and property, driving locals out of the market. They're not given an ear either, because money talks. It’s always been about the money and the power, and Canadians should understand that perspective too. The culture or religion of a few bad apples shouldn’t be used to tarnish every immigrant. We do need to do a better job screening people, but it’s not fair to paint everyone with the same brush. In the U.S., Indian immigrants are top earners and incredibly successful, but people still complain that they’re "taking their jobs." So, if an Indian person is a failure, they're a problem. If they're a success, they're still a problem. They can't win. This old colonial mindset is alive and well. It's tough for some people to process that a person of color can outsmart them and rise up by their own bootstrap. When I moved here 7 years ago, Canada felt like heaven. People were respectful, culture was strong, even Tims had great customer service. I was eager to adapt, made Canadian friends, worked in a church Downtown, Barrie to assimilate. Now it feels totally different, more chaotic almost third world in parts.
