American here in the PNW standing with Canada! I wish our current administration was as well-spoken as Trudeau! Instead we get the orange criminal and his chainsaw wielding minion. ?

I wish the USA had an adult to lead it like Canada and not a bully who acts like a spoiled child that needs a time out. Trump just go golfing every minute of every day for the next three years and leave the American people to live with the world.

Despite the actions of the American government, this Torontonian loves and respects his American brothers and sisters. I don't hold this against them, I prefer and wish for a world where we are allies and friends over one where we fight with each other.

I would not want to live down there with the pervasive American attitude. I thought my American friends were lovely people, but then we went to a restaurant together. I was flabberghasted by how they ALL spoke down to the waitress, as if she was beneath them. You can pick out the American tourists here, by how they talk to service people. I wish I could say this was a stereotype, but i live in a tourist town and see it every day.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau thank you for your address to Americans, to the american Bully in chief, and to your people. I am among those who started pushing back before trump took office, many are. We’re watching legislation and countering it. It won’t be easy, but we, the other half who understand that trump is crooked and dysfunctional, will not give up. Generally, Americans are not great when it comes to hitting the pavement and letting our voices be heard, but we’re getting much better. We need to be more like France, but without the destructive automobile fires and other property destruction. Life will be hell here, in my own democratic country, until the Bully is gone. I want the entire republican party gone, they only serve themselves via stock insider information, and messed up wishes to control a dystopian society while kowtowing to the billionaires. I want the democrats rebranded to acknowledge the important social programs we have. Let’s face it, they did not protect us from this trump/project 2025 takeover. Instead they allowed unchecked lies, and the ability to buy his way into office with so many felonies under his huge belt. In a country that is intellectually compromised, lies are very effective weapons against democracy. We need better hate laws to control this lying issue.

Mr. Trudeau, I wish you could be the American president. You have more of what we need than trump ever thought about. To my Canadian friends, my apologies. My country has entered an embarrassing period of time. We will resolve this, but it will take time. In the meantime, please know that the problem is our president, not our people.

I used to be a huge fan of America. I truly believed it was the world’s policeman, the guiding force for justice and freedom. I looked up to the country, admiring its strength, its values, and the way it stood for what was right. I even wished my own country could be more like that. \n\nBut America is no longer what it once was. Real Americans are not self-serving. Real Americans are for serving others and bettering others because it’s the right thing to do. Our government does not know the difference between right and wrong. Those who support our current government, also, do not understand what it’s like to be selfless versus selfish. I’m a veteran, and serving others and treating others with respect and dignity has been engrained in me and I wish everyone could have the same morality. This is a choice in which too many have ignored.

I'm American, I'm cheering for Canada. Our government has broken its word to yours. As an American, I wish Canada and Europe godspeed. There are too many morons ready and willing to trade away our freedoms and republic for promises of authoritarianism.
