I have been in Canada for past 10 years. Life have changed a lot since then. Standard of living has come down. Rent and mortgages increased. Job lay offs. Higher grocery rates and everything have gone up. It’s so hard to survive here. I had a severe sprain in my knee and I could not walk at all. I got MRI appointment 1 year after I went to doctor. This was the worst thing I experienced. My daughter was born very micro premature, doctors took good care of her and she survived here in Canada. We paid 0 dollars. In India the treatment would have costed close to 1 crore or I can say there is no specialized treatments in India for such micro premature babies. I’m thankful to Canada in this case. I have seen best and worst. So I’m neutral here. But I strongly suggest students not to come to Canada at this moment. This country does not have enough jobs, no proper education, no standard of living now

I lived in Toronto from 2016 to 2019 and worked for a big product MNC. Had to return to India in 2019 due to ill health of father. Had a great time with good salary , great teammates and good food. Only problem back then was the hospital waiting time in GTA area and the ridiculous cost of Dental. However my friends who are still there are telling me that it is not like the old days. Rents have risen exponentially but salaries have not kept pace and with recent immigration increase there is a big load on job market and healthcare services. Worst now is the waiting time for a general physician in Toronto area.

I have lived in Canada for 4 years since 2004 and some problems may have increased, but that doesnt make it such a bad place to live or immigrate too. There's been a substantial increase in grocery prices, housing costs, and rental rates. One drawback you didn't mention in the video is the Khalistani movement in Canada, which is causing issues and disturbances for Indian students.

In simple words, if you have an extremly seious condition then only you get an immediate treatement in Emergency. If you need to see a specialist like dermatologist or orthopedic, average wait time here is 6 months. \n\nRents :- Canada population has increased by over 1 Million every year in past 3-4 years due to libreal immigration policies. However, the goverment did not take any steps to accomodate these people. To give context, Canada has built houses every year to accomodate only 300K people. That is why the average rent(950$) is more than double nowadays (2000$) for the same house/apartment in compare to what was 5-6 years ago. \n\nHome Affordibility:- Average family(two person) income is $75k yearly right now. Average house price in Canada is $700k. The bank only approves mortgage upto 4x times your income. So that is 75 * 4 = $300k mortgage. So you need to make a downpayment of $400k if you want to buy your own home. \nBy the way, the minimum wage job package is only $32k per year. \n\nCrime and Chaos:- Canada has a catch and release policy for repeated criminals. Let's say somebody stole you car and got caught, he will be released on bail in 10 mins. Only the interest rates are to be blamed. \nPreviously the people used to get home loans for about 2% (before 2019) but now it's 6.2% or so which is a significant rise. \nInflation isn't getting under control. \n\nHowever, I have been blessed as I am a PR and have a good job. I landed as PR in Canada and I’m Canadian Citizen now….. being IT professional it wasn’t that difficult to settle however what you mentioned for students is somewhat true! There is an another side of it as well that Student visa was somewhat abused as an entryway to canada when skilled PR was getting stringent. \nImmigration happened at a rapid speed however infra for healthcare is same thus the wait tine has increased… not enough Doctors……also not enough job opportunities for those students, Inflation and high interest rates are adversely affecting new Immigrants.

Been there for the past 5 years and i gave up my PR and returned back to India, all these points are cent percent true except for the students deportation, initially this occurred due to fraudulent admission letters to Canadian academic institutions were one of the primary reasons behind the deportation of Indian students, the scams happened in India itself, similar issues surfaced with Australia...later on new provincial laws were updated in PEI etc, where students had to face the heat of deportation. To add on the problems racism and weapon culture is also increasing day by day which makes you feel insecure. Inflation in grocery transport real estate is peaking, buying home in canada is dream if you and your spouse aren't working.

The more I watch this video I feel how ridiculously wrong this video is!! Housing is not that unaffordable in Canada. That is not ground reality again. This video is not at all well-researched. I see such propaganda against Canada in this video! I have seen multitude amount of Indians coming in the past 5years and living a very good life. They touch education and talk about the high quality education but do not expand - education is really top notch here. And intense drug problem is in India too! Most of the people commenting on Canada can't even imagine the quality of life. Even if you're Ambani, you'll still have to deal with pollution and dirt all over the place. Due to the influx of immigrants and recently poor governance of the country, it has slumped. Drugs and homelessness has increased but I've been settled here since the past two years and have had a considerable amount of work life balance and financial stability compared to back home. I did work for close to a decade in India yet could not accomplish what I did in 2 years here. Every country has it's pro's and cons and when it comes to healthcare yes it is sad but will be improved over time. I have been living in Alberta since 2014. A two bedroom apartment near YYC was around $1350 per month in 2019, is now $2050 monthly as of July 2024. There is no cap on rent increase in Alberta so the apartment management companies and house owners are increasing the rent to whatever amount they want! The increase of immigrants moving into Calgary is worsening the housing crisis and the government has no control over this! Transit system is very weak for a fastest growing city like Calgary, not enough buses on the road which is allowing car dealers to sell cars on high prices on higher interest rate and banks and insurance companies are taking advantage of all these. Most employers in Calgary pay $17-$18 per hour maximum wage which is impossible for families to live on. Horrible time ahead for Albertans if govt. fails to take immediate action.
