Australia is probably friendlier than Canada. Don't expect to connect with white Canadians just any better than you did with white Australians. What Canada may be able to provide you with apart from easier immigration is a larger immigrant community. Lots of Africans and Caribbean people to connect with.

To all the people sayimg that university is not a ppace to carry knives , should learn about sikhism and sikh faith. Your video just popped up and I was drawn to watch it. I have been in Sydney for 7 years. Same pathway in - a student visa, but I got PR through my studies soon after my graduation and now a citizen. Yes, I agree that Australian permanent residency is tough, but I also realise that not equipping yourself with the right information creates a hurdle for many people. If PR is the goal, the SOL and every other related information leading from that list should be your manual. Let that information guide your decisions. However, I concur that Australia's stance on immigration is confusing - harping on about skilled shortages and wanting to attract the right people, but also keeping them in limbo for ages. I was born and raised in Canada. My family immigrated in the 70s. Growing up I was proud to be Canadian but after living in other parts of the world I can tell you, Canada isn't it! \n\nFirstly our Prime Minister is a puppet he works for the Commonwealth and whatever they say goes, they profit off all of your hard work. \nThey keep you sick so you rely on the health care system. Medicate you instead of solving the problem. Doctors are exhausted, rude and over worked, emergency rooms are a disaster and if you book an appointment to see your doctor...be sure you're waiting at least a week. If you go to a walk in clinic you risk getting a doctor that seems like they paid for a fake degree.\n\nYou know when you go to a mall in one town and then hear about a mall in another town that has really cool different things??? Ya, not here! Everything is monopolized! Same stores everywhere you go. there's a mall in Toronto called Vaughn Mills mall, when I was in Calgary they have an exact replica just a different name. Small businesses are hard to keep because everything is so expensive. There needs to be more indoor things for people to do in the winter. \n\nWhoever said Canadians are polite, has never been to Alberta!!!! I've never experienced racism in my life like I did out west, not just Alberta but also Northwest Territories and Manitoba. \n\nOn top of that they want everyone to be gay and not believe in God, they push the agenda so hard in the schools, they institutionalize and confuse your kids. If you believe anything different they literally hate you. The children are hypersexualized...teenage girls looking like they're 30 year old drag queens. They bully kids so badly in school, especially boys. Parents have no time to get involved because they're busying working multiple jobs to pay for their 4000 dollar mortgage, husband and wife barely see each other. And because they're not involved the children have no respect for their elders or teachers. the teachers don't care to get involved like they used to because everything's a liability...a problem. We had a 13 year old girl call a male teacher a pedophile for pushing a little girl on the swing. He quit on the spot, because now he's worried for his career. Honest review. I lived in ontario, better say Toronto. Car insurance, rent, work life balance. The good thing is the vibe and some basic things you don't fight alot to attain, the place is vividly. Their economic policies suppress growth people struggle to beyong and you must be equipped with many relevant skills apart from degree. What gives you money in Canada is your own business, risk jobs, most importantly your money source is coming from somewhere and you just invest there in houses, etc. \nThe country is nice and alot of events in the summer, but when the winter comes is really tough and you feel limited if you don't drive, if don't know places to socialise. The minimum wage is very low until this day. In reality everyone has an individual journey, and every experience may be completely different dispite any barriers they may achieve and make their dream come true, but still it will be a very small number.

I did not listen to the entire video but sharing my story.\n\nI came to Toronto Canada it's been 22 years and I will leave here and die here despite its expensive to live but people stay where they belong, where their soul is at peace and where there is their happiness.\n\nI moved here with my abusive husband at that time. Back home as divorce was taboo, I would have remained married n suffer. He moved on and left me and my child of 5 years old on the street but thanks to Canada, no one judged me, no one talked about me. I did not ask or took any help cause I worked 2 jobs for few years to make ends meet. With time things got better, now my child has graduated and working.\nHe worked n paid for his studies.\nI have not been discriminated or faced racism despite I come from African continent and of colour but my son has as he was young but he learnt from it.\nCanada gave me my freedom, my peace, my happiness and I am no longer discrimated by my own religion, culture and people who thinks if you are lighter you are prettier.\nWomen were and are still considered secondary compared to men.\nHere we are equal.\nHere they love and respect me for who I am and not based on looks.\nBack home my c-section was f up and I am still paying the consequences. After an accident, I had to go through a leg surgery. Back home hospital lost my file and made me wait for years.\nHere I was handled with love and care when the hospital staff learnt that I have no family here. They stayed with me and watched on me after my surgery.\nI love Canada and my Canadian friends and all adopted families.\nThis is the best decision in my entire life that's why when I die I will donate all my organs and help others.\nI am allowed to keep dual citizenship but I don't care about back home.\nI am Canadian, I have a good job cause I worked for it, I speak 5 languages including French. Check out the UK, over a million people not being able to afford heat last winter. Electricity is going to rise now in October then again in January. It is a second rent we will be paying, no joke!!! Health System is a disaster here. Our NHS is not getting the support they need to be good. Food prices is sky rocketing we see food banks coming up all over the place with long queues. I hear from others in other countries, that are going through the same thing. I don't think you are alone. The entire world is going through something right now and the people are sadly suffering in silence. It is a sad situation and very difficult. I don't think it's a Canada situation only.

I'm listening to hear how Canada is not a desirable place to live, bc I have thought it would be a better alternative to the USA. But it still sounds better than life in the USA, if even just slightly. ?\nSo far, I hear 30% taxes on income (which is same in the USA).\nYou have free healthcare, however you have to wait in emergency room for 8 hours.....we DON'T have free healthcare....and guess what? $450+ later, we have still waited 4-10 hours in the ER. \nHere in the USA, our cost of living is insanely high compared to a single and even a double income. Our lowest rent is $1,200 to live in low income surroundings. A rent around $1,800/month will bring you to nicer surroundings in an apartment, but still surrounding areas have crime. \nFood costs are so high, Gas is so high. We haven't bought new clothes for ourselves in YEARS, only for our kids. \nDaycare is $485-500 month per child, even before and after school care. \nHealth insurance averages $145/per person per month, not to mention car insurance which is required to drive. \nSegregation has improved here but is ever being integrated back into our society as racism is kept very alive, even as they constantly teach it in the schools. They say it's to teach history but I believe it is just reinforcing racist ways and thinking patterns. \nI don't blame anyone for wanting to return to the comfort of their own people, language and living and country. \nYou may have us with the cold/hot weather in Canada! \nI didn't know about the Canadian passport being so opportunistic for travelling. That's cool ? \nAs far as desired profession, there are many doctors and teachers that come here to the USA from other countries and are now working as a clerk in the dollar stores here in the US. \nAnd forget work life balance here too. Cost of living here causes so much disruption in our family life. Debt is revolving.\nMy fiance's mother comes from a country in West Africa. She longs to return. She calls the USA a place you come to be a work rat. \nBesides free healthcare, it sounds like USA and Canada are similar. \nOne thing I've heard about Canada is that the government cares about kindness, as well as the banks. I hear that people are generally more courteous in Canada than they are here in the US.

I think most of this is a lack of purpose and a lack of managing finances because Canada is amongst the highest rated countries in the world to live in pole after Pole has shown this most of the stuff that she's talking about can be taken care of by focusing on getting yourself happy instead of letting your surroundings make you happy there's lots of expensive countries in the world especially now in Europe with natural gas for heating going through the roof because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine personally I love Canada forgot to mention in Canada like low crime rate compared to Nigeria and Ghana where I have a friend who's been robbed four times by bandits and kidnapping is not part of the GDP of the country plus a relatively low population compared to Nigeria I was reading some of the comments of some of the people who were saying that it's expensive well I've been to some other countries and it's even more there I really believe it's what you make it where you but happiness starts from within you and it is what you make it.

A lot of people from Eastern Europe countries like Poland are selling they houses and moving back. \nIn my opinion if you don’t have a high earning job (150k after taxes and up) it is impossible to live a good life in Canada.

I'm a blk American born and raised and l have serious interest in moving to Canada. Since my people are from the US this is all l know so Im acclimated to the racial climate of the states. A lot of your cons are the same issues many face in the states. Taxes are crazy cost of living is insane wages are stagnant and you basically live to work. I live in Minnesota which is not far from the Canadian border but originally from New Jersey so I'm used to the cold. The health care system is sh*t here. Noone really has money to pay privately that's why our care is funded by employers. At the current moment there is also a shortage of medical professionals so often times you still have to wait months for appointments but you know what l would rather wait and have my taxes pay for my doctor then go into medical debt. My biggest issue with America is you pay all these taxes and reap nothing at least in Canada you can kinda see where the money is going.

I agree with most of your points, but as a person who immigrated to Canada 23 years ago, I am still happy that i did it, grateful for the opportunities that Canada offered to me, even though i had to work hard for everything. Few points i want to make for those who consider immigrating:\n1. Uprooting yourself from your country, and starting from the bottom in a foreign country is difficult, and not for everyone. Sometimes, when immigrants go back to visit their home countries, they try to present themselves as successful, and tend to exaggerate the positives. Having realistic expectations is crucial, do a thorough research beforehand, prepare yourself, and you will have better chances to succeed.\n2. I also lived in US for almost 2 years: US is better if you want to do business, or if you are highly specialized (IT, healthcare, etc.), but i wouldn't raise children there, even more so if i were a visible minority. \n3. If you are on top of your career at home, think twice before immigrating, unless you find a suitable position before arrival. If you are in a priviledged position, you have connections, doors are opened easily for you, you might find it difficult to adjust without these things. Many people leave their country because of corruption, they will find that they have more opportunities in Canada. \n4. There are some significant differences between provinces in Canada: Quebec offers low university tuition, Alberta offers the best ratio between average income and average housing costs. (You can buy a new house in Edmonton with about 300k) \n5. Canada might not be for those who want to become milionaires in few years, or for those who want a night life like Las Vegas or Ibiza... but if you are a young couple, motivated and hardworking, who want to raise children in a decent environment, to be able to send them to school without fear, Canada might be a good place.

You guys were spot on with this video. I am Canadian born from Caribbean immigrants and all we've done from jump is work multiple jobs. If you live in Toronto you can't just have one job; even lawyers and engineers have side hustles. My uber drivers are usually tech engineers! Most people usually immigrate to the US after getting their visa because the pay is so much more and the cost of living is lower. An example some jobs I'm looking at in Canada pay $50-$60k base demanding 5 yrs experience with 2-3 wks vacation. In the US the same job pays $75-100k base, unlimited vacation, work from home 2-3 yrs experience! I now live here part time and most of my wealthy friends have moved to the US, Costa Rica or Mexico because the cost of living is too high and it's no longer worth it. No life balance, even working remote you're a slave, the cost of living is outrageous

same in USA except no minimum paid vacation maybe 5 days to 2 weeks max and for some companies none at all..if tou take a vacation you dont get paid...aside from the weather, better tax treatment in certain US states(I live in Florida) and people are friendlier in the US..healthcare is mafia run very unaffordable so you must have insurance and even then its very expensive...every system has its weaknesses..ideally work in US get paid in US dollars and spend summer and autumn in Canada...then theres double taxation so you want to make sure you are in a position where you make you money in the States so you dont get taxed from Canada as well

Tips when moving countries:\nNature wins - if you are from Africa, why would you move to Canada???\nCanada is COLD - in Africa you never dealt with snow, ice, blizzards - meanwhile in Canada, 6 months WINTER hhahaha your body is not accustomed to such conditions, human races are different because of thousands of years living in certain climates - NOT AS IN THE BIBLE WHERE THEY SAY WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT ON THE PLANET - WRONG! so this recent phenomena of moving countries is having also psycologicall downsides, such as racism, different cultures, not being able to fit in/not accepted by the natives etc as our brains are not designed for changing tribes, it is still as thousands of years ago, our brains operate in such way, that those childhood friends you had in your home country - YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THEM AGAIN ELSEWHERE. \nSo at first you may enjoy a new place, it as something new, but long term - NOT GOOD.\n\nTherefore when you move countries, you always move EAST or WEST, as you stay on similar altitude, the climate will be same/similar and likely the people will be also be similar/similar culture.\n\nYou never move NORTH or SOUTH, as everything will be DIFFERENT - climate, people, way of life - it will crush you! I've met a lot of people from all over the world who come to Canada for a better life. Most are good genuine people, they work hard have children build a life for themselves and become useful citizens and contribute to the community they join. every once in a while I hear someone make claims like they deserve preparations because Canadians act racist towards them. Two vacation and the employer also tells you you can't go in summer because the summer is peak season and you can't take two weeks together too. And just for your info US is not Black friendly. And most of people who come here are from third world and poor countries. And for them Canada is heaven. Do you think people from developed countries would come here no. You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. You guys don't know what you're talking about. People in poor countries want to come to Canada. Its Obviously better staying in Canada than in other third world countries. If you don't like it in Canada why not go back to where you came from? The taxes are expensive because that's what It takes to fund the security and law& order you're seeing here. You can actually make a lot of money even with the taxes you pay, become and entrepreneur or become a doctor or some other high paying profession and then you wouldn't have to worry about the taxes. Why don't you guys move to Africa where you will see abundance of black people, or go to Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Philippines where Asians can feel accommodated, come to Nigeria where you will pay almost 40% if your salary as direct tax and many other indirect taxes and VATs to be paid from your Lilliput salary which doesn't have hope if growing, where your tax is being squandered by the leaders and not a single infrastructure is built, come to Nigeria and come and see super queue at hospitals, schools, banks etc that are not even used by the leaders, even if you school outside Nigeria you don't have automatic employment until you write the exams or your profession in which you have to study for, maybe you ladies should come back to Africa, you better appreciate where God gives you the opportunity to have a meaningful life, 80% if Africans are not even average but far below average yet you are complaining of living a simple average life, are all Americans billionaires, our brains have been destroyed that we believe until we are billionaire before we ate successful or fulfilled, in Nigeria only government gives you one month leave but private organization only gives two weeks in a year and the private organizations are the largest employer of labor in Nigeria. Canada has sky high immigration because it is a failed state, the population was declining. Immigration is basically all that is keeping the country from imploding. They will let in anyone because they are desperate to keep the tax base growing. The landmass itself is gorgeous, but the quality of life continues to deteriorate by the day. The country is run the by Royal Family, Trudeau is just a stooge people elect to grovel to the Queen and her son, he has no power. They are confused environmentalists, they want to grow their tax base and keep the country from imploding, meanwhile they want to use as little land as possible to do it. So you get stacked and packed into a condo and get worked nonstop and taxed so hard you can never accumulate enough savings to stop working. The whole country is a slave colony really. I'm leaving Canada shortly, I don't recommend it as a long term place to live, no one is really happy here.

Regarding Nigerians, they are social animals. If they achieve something, they love for people to see it and offer accolades. In Canada, nobody cares what you have. Over time, such a situation could lead to depression, and ultimately to deciding to move from Canada.\n\nReal estate is expensive in Canada. The cost of buying a 3-bdrm in Canada could build a mansion in Nigeria. Imagine having N400m in Nigeria for a house.

There's an old say from my country that goes: the cat whose belly is full, always find the tail of the mouse taste bitter. So the immigrant, like a hungry cat, comes to Canada for food( opportunities) and once his belly is full, he then starts complaining of the taste of the food. You ladies just named every single reason why an opportunist can't stay in one place. I live, as an immigrant in the US, and Im a physician, and I can tell you while the Canadian health system is flawed it is far better than the US. Your 8 hrs+ waiting in the ER is literally a standard waiting time...so please be PATIENT! ( just getting a little sarcastic here, i know it sucks!) 35 to 40% of my money go the government ( although i feel they take 50%) and life is not that cheap ( a lot of Physicians leave expensive places like NY because they can't afford them anymore! ) have you heard of HOMELESS workers in LA? ( some have 2 jobs but still can't afford an apartment and live in their cars ) things are hard everywhere, especially if you are an immigrant living in one of the coldest place in the world (btw nobody called you, that was your choice, so suck it up!) I hope one day, while Im still young, I can go back home to work for my people, and not when I retire and tired to have my people work for me, how selfish and opportunistic is that mentality! The Nomad life most of you like, is killing a country spirit and Culture and it's no longer feasible in modern society, since the lands have borders and names and inhabited by people that value a sedentary life. The idea of people going to the foreign countries to get their passport so they can travel the world, sounds so individualistic...which Nation can develop with that kind of thinking of their citizens?....definitely not yours.

My dear, TAXES, are the mainstay of every advanced society; they provide that attractive environment which becomes the dragnet for people from the third world where little or no taxes are paid and the little that is paid is cornered by the rich and powerful. What you experience in Canada is what obtains in every developed country including advanced Asian societies like Japan.\nSecondly these societies are maintained not just for present generation but for those yet unborn, again unlike third world societies where you care about today only.\nFinally it is not intended that citizens would come and stay a short while and amass wealth and go back to their countries, they are expected to be part of the society perpetually in which case their children would take advantage of their contributions to that society.\nThis is a model that should be emulated to guarantee long time survival of a society and culture.

Taxes are meant to run the country's affaires but people are just mean. You love it when you are broke and are able to benefit free services from the government but when you start making some money and are asked to contribute so that the country can keep up with all it's programs you start complaining. Come back to Africa, there is always a trade-off. No good service and less taxes. Just keep in mind that Africa not developing is our choice otherwise the cost of development is that, in a way ( higher taxes and government's direct control over people's affaires). I thank God anyway that you people can complain of better living condition but I would rather get busy working hard in Canada than not finding a decent job in Africa or bare the cold whether than sleeping hungry in Africa. While not staying that you would be in the worst conditions in Africa, I want you appreciate what you have and remember one truth, so many people in Africa would wish to be in your position. One of the top issues is being black. Seen as black and identified as black when you leave a predominantly Black Country. \nWhen I watch the various Realestate shows of white people buying property abroad as second home or just packing up and moving. I always say it must be nice! Because the reality is they can see them self almost everywhere unless they choose to go into a remote area then that’s the only exception but even then as long they learn the language and respect the culture they are good they are liked welcomed and even seen as fascinating. Not saying they don’t have to struggle but the colour of their skin is the least! \nAmerica is great if your trying to be self made, be your own business owner, and other random ventures you want to dabble in. But to just go there and be a regular teacher, doctor, lawyer, engineer to the low and middle class you’ll end up with the same financial issues and struggles as a result. You gotta now cater to the rich and famous wealthy people but then it’s back to never being home and not enough time for family. \nThe reality is if we could make the money we make here in North America and Uk back home in in the Caribbean and specific countries in Africa it would be a dream come true and that goes for other communist countries too. You truly have to know what makes you happy. Make money but enjoy life it might mean living below your means even though you can can afford a bit better life style. People do it all the time back home (not because they want to I know) but for some reason when you move abroad a one bedroom for your single self is to small, the car under $24k isn’t good enough, you don’t want your kids to share a room so you need a bigger house and the list goes on and on. \nCanada is boring if your not in a major city with money to spend you know why? Because people forget the population of the entire country of Canada is only a 3rd, 4th, 10th of the population of certain countries that immigrants came from and in the case of the US population it’s 100x more than Canada. So of course there’s more opportunities there. \nAnd finally imagine if more countries didn’t need visas to travel? They really would just come to make money and go back home or live bicoastal. Even just the freedom of travel half of the immigrants would of settled elsewhere before the year was up or go back home.

I listened to your chat. I did not appreciate some of your reasons for why people leave Canada. First of all life is what you make it. There are lots of things to do if you are interested in being active. Canada is a very beautiful country and there are lots of places to visit and enjoy. \nYou need to educate yourself about what people are paid in the US and Canada. The minimum wage is a lot higher in Canada. I suggest that you leave Canada and then you will appreciate what a wonderful country we live in. Go to Trinidad for example and buy groceries ...pay over a thousand dollars a week for food, then tell me that food is too expensive in Canada. (25.00 for a box of cereal)!Go to a hospital there and you will wait for a whole day just to be seen. Yes, we have a shortage of medical doctors and nurses here, but they are trying to fix that. Sure we pay taxes, but if you or someone in your family needs a heart transplant, a knee replacement or whatever, you will get it FREE in the hospital, and while you are in the hospital, your bed will have sheets and pillow cases. Drive your car on the roads in Trinidad and the potholes will ruin your tires, not to mention the frame of the car. Your taxes also maintains parks, roads and bridges for the safety and enjoyment of everyone. The government has no control over the weather, so complaining that it is too cold or rainy is up to mother nature. During the lockdown I am sure you received money from the government to help you, everyone did. Do you think other countries paid their people money to help them get through this crisis?? NO!\nI love Canada, it has been good to me and I never regretted emigrating here 42 years ago. I go traveling to other countries and I see how other people live and I am happy to come home. Appreciate what you have or if you are so unhappy, use the passport that you said is so powerful.

If, you aren't a disciplined person then you won't succeed in western countries especially Canada imo. I see people constantly complaining about being bored, but I rarely see new african immigrants mix with groups outside of their home culture. That results in NO building, no reputation, little to no African districts or recognition at all throughout the provinces. It's a shame.\nThe carribbeans did it right in Toronto and it's why their culture has spread in that city. What's the point of moving to another country that is deemed diverse and not trying to gain a mixed friend group? They can learn from you and help you level up while you promote your culture. I think relocating to Canada and subsequently leaving is a product of not having proper information or having a misconception about a western country before moving there in the first place. There's an emphasis of 'you really have to work hard' for new immigrants which they generally take for granted. Quite frankly, only sincere people empathize on hardwork. I find that most people seeking suggestion/advice always want to start from the top to bottom rather than bottom to top. Every society has it's own challenges. New immigrants who have just been in Canada for only 3years get frustrated while comparing themselves with people who have lived in Canada for 15 years. Growth is a gradually process, when it's automatic it's too good to be true!! All these similar countries run the say type of system, you gotta love where you chose to live. With that being said, we will continue to welcome new immigrants who re willing to start from the beginning to grow their dreams and wave goodbye to people who came and decided to leave. Canada is similar to America minus the gun violence, when you come from a almost homogeneous society where you are the majority ethnicity/tribe is used more.
