I grew up in Toronto and love going back often because I get to visit the neighborhood and bump into old friends, the variety of food is fantastic, there is lots you can do with theatre. Really nice people who brought really good food, and treated our staff very well. Hi… I totally agree with just about everything you stated in all aspects of the Indian community. I’m a Canadian who happens to be living in Brampton for the past 12 years. I’ve watched Brampton go from a beautiful community to a dark dreaded place to live , and this is truly because of Indian behaviours. Mind you I have many genuinely good intelligent respectful Indian friends, but there’s the others that thinks they owe the city, province, and country. They don’t respect no one, and I mean no one. However; the moment you say something to them they assume that you’re cursing at them and what was ment to be a respectful comment becomes a situation where they want to argue and even get into a physical fight. Then there’s the bad, careless driving on the streets with no regards to the next person’s life. They drive like their car is the only one on the street yet always looking for someone to race with not to mention the illegal U-TURN creating major accidents. I personally experienced this when a Tractor Trailer Driver tried making a U-TURN on the city street with only 4 lanes for both direction at 4AM in the morning. This caused me to almost ran under the trailer body which would have been the end of my life. If the situation was reversed, we were living in an impoverished country and were invited to immigrate to another country with better opportunities, I know damn well Canadians would jump at it, so I can't blame Indians for coming here. Do some ground research from people before making false reports. No jobs, high taxes. If you want to have a good meal for one day you have to spend half of the income that you earn on a day.

The healthcare system in Canada is horrible. It is almost impossible to find a good family doctor that will provide you with even decent medical care. If you need surgery in a hospital the wait is often many months in most cases. The taxes in this country are very high and will keep going up as our government debt goes up. The cost of living in this country is also very high with no end in sight. It is almost impossible for younger people to buy their own home. In a nutshell this country has gone to hell in a handbasket.

Canada is not for people who are dependent on maids and helper for day to day work. We have moved to Canada in 2010 and very happily established here. In 2-3 months you can judge Canadian life. It’s a beautiful country with very high potential for ambitious people, who are willing go through the initial learning curve humbly. I have numerous life changing stories of people including myself who are living dream life because we have chosen to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Healthcare is free and way better than India. I have delivered two babies here and have received luxurious treatment with zero bill. Very satisfied to see my children growing to be polite and good human beings. It’s everyone’s individual choice.

As a white Brazilian, I would say my experience was quite good (I've returned home less than 1 month ago). \n\nApart of some obvious jokes about the 7-1, I've never faced anyone who made me feel unwelcome or undesired, quite the opposite in many situations. Being of German descent certainly made things better. Other white Brazilians I've met told me they had similar experiences.\n\nUnfortunately, immigrants from other Global South countries and non-white Brazilians probably have very different experiences, for the worse. I've heard many unpleasant comments from my German friends and colleagues regarding turks, Arabs, africans and other immigrants from the South of the world. It's certainly a problem for many skilled workers who are not white and could contribute for the country, but they can't thanks to racism.\n\nIn my view, apart of racism, another great problem in Germany when it comes to foreign skilled workers is the lack of digitalization in the country and the bad Internet. Many jobs require good internet connection and digitalization, which are not always provided by the Germans , unlike virtually all the other European countries including much poorer ones. \n\nHaving said that, Germany has many good-hearted, kind and welcoming people (except the racists, of course), and a fantastic culture.

As a Canadian child (early 1970's) I collected money with my candy on Halloween for people in Bangladesh. We have food banks and shelters and assistance programs for those suffering misfortune and our society WAS designed around public sharable services and programs. When I was a teen, a Guianese immigrant co-worker told me Canadians are stupid for providing handouts to immigrants and he laughed at me for buying his house with my taxes. In recent years there has been an influx of new residents whose focus is how they can take advantage, what they can get for free and those who try to cheat the system and cheat others. The scams and cheating that sends thousands of Indian students to Canada for an education at a school that cant take them is the same kind of scams starting here. The fraudulent proofs of income banks were receiving for house purchases has resulted in an artificially inflated housing market. I just bought a house and my Canadian born Indian neighbors literally gated and locked me out of $6000 of my land, while we were on good terms, because the felt like it. We were a society built on honor, trust and respect and while I wouldn't say its all the fault of Indians, there are by no means a small percentage and its getting worse.

Isn't this CLEAR EVIDENCE that a significant number of international students only come for work and immigration and not for education? I'm not saying they are doing anything wrong; people will do whatever based on the incentives available to them. Work and an eventual Canadian passport are just too good a deal to pass up for many international students.
