Scapegoating? It's simple supply and demand, and nothing can change it. Socialism won't fix it, importing impoverished people won't fix it, legislation won't fix it. You have to attract people with the proper skillsets to make the country and city better. Having a booming population and no room to grow doesn't do that. The California Bay Area and Los Angeles area has already seen the problems this causes, companies and skilled workers are moving to places that they can afford to live and build companies. With more people comes less opportunities, Canada needs to learn from the mistakes of others. Do not take everyone, take those who want a better life but can also give back to the country.

I wont recommend to move to Toronto even you are rich because what are you gonna do wit your money there? .There are so. many amazing places around the world where you could have a good life .There is nothing in Toronto for people with money .

I love immigrants, they're what make our country so special all the different cultures coming together. The problem right now is because of terrible government mismanagement we don't have enough housing or jobs for everyone already here. That's my only reason for wanting to pause immigration. The immigrants that are coming here feel scammed, the older citizens have seen our infrastructure crumble, and our country-born youth are watching their hopes at a decent life fall away. Please, blame the govt. I don’t think citizens or immigrants are to blame. Finding stable work in Canada is a challenge these days even for permanent residents/new citizens. No guarantee of work even after acing an interview and building skills as needed. At this point I feel like immigrants are just tax paying scapegoats, who are used by the government and hated by local people. This is not real inclusiveness. Govt must give priority to their citizens and encourage immigration if there are real opportunities to offer. Everyone needs work and stability inorder to live a civilized and stable life. Calling loads and loads here to benefit the economy and politicians just be called third world trash isn’t fair.

We are a software engineer and a graphic designer. We couldn't afford a home in Canada, and were facing a life of escalating poverty. We left Canada two years ago to start a new life in El Salvador. It has been the best decision of our lives.

Canada has become so expensive. I am a nurse, and I was having a hard time finding quality work. Moving to the USA was the best decision of my life.

I live in rural Atlantic Canada. There is lots and lots of land not being used. People driving long distances from their huge single family home to get to town or the city. If no Canadians are moving to the country side to start homesteads, then why not immigrants. I don't see the point of someone moving to a local small town to work in a Tim Hortons or not if there is no job available and buy franken foods from huge corporations. Instead if some immigrants want a homesteading life (some probably would), give people grants to make apartments in their huge single family farmhouses left from the days when people had ten kids, and subdivide their land so the new people can farm it. The local people can get rent money and payment for the subdivision and still have a large plot of land left over). Grow the local farmers markets! Grow the small towns to what they were 100 years ago! Make it so people only had to drive to the city when they wanted to, not for work. There is so so much empty land out here used for massive lawns.

i just asked a.i why construction costs are through the roof and one of three reasons is increased fuel costs ... and shortage of construction workers ... the real problem is the supply and demand ... if you don't agree people should think about what happens when not enough people are buying something at the retail stores - the thing will go on sale. Don't forget the WEF is in Switzerland where they have anonymous Swiss bank accounts and ten billionaires for every politician who attends ... no chance for global real estate investment corporations to bribe our politicians to make life almost unbearable for too many Canadians by bringing in too many people so the price of real estate goes unchecked eh ? It's a vicious cycle now ... construction costs are too high now due to too much immigration ... immigration must be slowed down !!!

Laws in Canada benefit the Criminals. You can commit fraud and stuff like this shown in the Video and get away with it. You can also commit more serious crimes like removing someone from this earth and the laws here will benefit these people as well. The only solution to this is government should freeze bringing immigrants and pathway for students to become immigrants for few years until Canada overcomes with it's own poverty. Majority of people do not have a standard life in Canada now. Canadian born children have hard time to find jobs and their future is uncertain now. I'm an indian immigrant to Canada myself, my family moved here in the 00s. We worked hard to integrate and build a new life for ourselves here. The new migrants are a disgrace and an embarrassment. I hope the govt does something to address this soon, they're turning canada into a slum
