Genuine question. Other than money. Why does Canada want X amount of more international students? It's obviously, going to cause backlog in all sectors. Not enough jobs, not enough affordable housing for international and domestic students, lack of education etc

How students protest against Canadian law, they are not Canadians. They must study and return back to their home country. 70% of students abuse this student visas, and as a result prospective genuine students also lost their higher education in Canada.

Bring real International students that are not from India, bring from Europe, or any other developed country! That are way closer to our culture and education

It appears that the huge increase of immigrants to Canada came at the expense of poor screening process by Immigration Canada. It is true that you can't demand higher education for people you expect to perform menial jobs, but no one wants these jobs especially in a country with such high living costs, and such poor outlook of social advancement. Every society on earth have a lower social segment of uneducated and poor individuals. Unfortunately a portion of these lower class Indians landed in Canada, and aren't contributing to their new country, or to India itself. As usual, they generally are single young males; a similar situation can be appreciated in Europe with Muslim and African individuals. I can't say how many times I've received calls or e-mails from scammers from India, Pakistan, Russia, Nigeria, and China. We, in the West as common citizens, are the targets of criminals around the world trying to exploit us. If landed immigrants aren't of any positive influence to Canada, they should be denied citizenship and expelled from the country.

Canadian Universities warn? what a joke..those international spots are saved and cannot be filled by Canadian students...heres an idea...allow more canadian students entrance to cover it...Canadian Universities are no longer educational Institutions..they are greedy Corps who divert International money to fill their pockets.

You would think these students, who have been given the opportunity to have a good education, would take those skills home to their own country, and try and fix what is wrong there.

Canada is not the only country that has changed immigration processes! People take chances everyday. People going back home is sad but not new. They paid for their education and received it. It sucks they can't get residency, but they were not cheated.

There are many examples of people who seem to be from a particular community creating issues there, I have heard of persons who don't seem to understand how to communicate and making things difficult for other groups of people, coming to canada to work and slacking in their studies which is why they are in canada and also where people who are PR unable to get a job because only international students are getting hired. but I agree the government need to put better regulations in place to prevent people from being taken advantage of and hire people based on qualification and make the work place more diverse where possible with fair wages that are liveable as well as understand that they sold canada as the place to be for anyone to gain citizenship from the education stream

I'm continually told, by Indians that India is the most advanced greatest and highest educated nation, yet so many want to leave. What am I missing?

Why is it anti India . Check the facts . Before 2018 students were genuine and if they stayed long enough they got permanent residency. Now every one who is coming here is a fraud faking documents and going to crappy colleges that have no real education and these so called students are working. Canada has 20 odd universities they can’t even get admission in those. They are the reason for this crisis. Of course they should be thrown out

Most of them were exploited . They had class only for two days and in the remains 5 days they worked in fast food chains for minimum wage. They came here not for the quality of education, but for PR. Most of them kept their house as collateral and took loan from bank. How will they pay it ? It will take some 10 years to pay the loan in Indian salaries. Imagine you take loan which take 10 years of your life for repayment and you learned how to make pizza. It’s so cruel.

The students should get hold of the education agents in India and settle scores with them.

Canadian universities are only known for their treatment and accommodations towards international students while the education level has dropped severely.

The premier minister modi, last year, finishing to talk to the Australian authorities, last words: if they can the young people of India to immigrate to their country, for education, research, since almost all the big ai companies are in his country, why they don’t do the research there good god, they prefer leaving opportunities behind, to work for Walmart, Canadian tires, Tim Horton ect , very smart. Canada is one of the best countries, I agree there are few downfalls, but on the other hand you can’t even in judge a book by just looking at it’s cover. If you are well educated, this country is the best to live in. Canada has already made their immigration policies stern, and are not welcoming everyone now. Do you think Indian politicians are doing good to keep India safe according to their duties? Don’t you think India has a drug problem too? Apply for a visa and come here, you’ll see many people settled, enjoying their life here. People have to face struggles when you move to a new country, it takes time. Canada in one of the most diverse country, go to a school here, they celebrate and acknowledge different cultures and teach about them. I think Indian are well settled and living luxurious life here.

Unfortunately, what you are saying is true. My personal experience with Indians, that are my friends, are educated graduated students that came in years ago, and behaved with manners, now in last 8 yrs we have an INVASION of uneducated, nasty, gang mentality people, that we Canadians DO NOT appreciate at all‼️ If you cannot adapt to our culture, go back to India, and keep your mess there. It is not only Liberals who allowed this situation, it’s happening over 20 yrs ago. STOP the kindness with Indians, when they are not kind with us‼️

To blame everything on students is not fair when student come to canada he pays tripple amount of fee for university compare to canadian born kids plus they pay for there own accommodation and food on the other hand for Ukrainian or any other countries refugee govt of Canada pays for everything food to accomodation healthcare and education still indian students are culprit

IMO international students have said to visa interviewing officers that they will return to their country after education is over. Permitted job hours was known before they paid their education fees. I am Indian living legally in US and I would not support illegal protests from anyone who are not permanent residents or Citizens of that country. Canadian citizens have every right to express their discomfort with the international students when they behave in unlawful ways. In 2023, nearly 319,000 Indian students moved to Canada - this is a big figure only for studies.

But, i wonder why so many Indians are kepp coming to Canada? Arent they happy and contented with their lives in their country, instead of making their lives miserable here then regret it in the end? Why?;why? Why? When they already know that life aborad is unpredictable for them. Then they end up protesting and blaming the government afterwards. Educate yourself fisrt and don't be a victim of your wrong decisions. Well, you have a choice to make your life happy in your own country, or make it miserable abroad. The choice is still yours. I have done part of my education in Germany with very nice professors. I improved my German language skills to C1 level and still keep learning it. I have been working in some of the most well-known German companies some of which used to be part of Fortune 500. I am very grateful for the opportunity that I was given both at university and work places and the support I got from some of my good managers at the beginnning of my career. However, I should say on a daily basis you will face racist comments and discrimination. Despite high tax that I am paying and doing my best to be useful for the society, at work place you hear a lot of racist comments. When you go out, you can see you are not welcome in the society, and that is not only my problem. At both university and work, international people are together and Germans are within themselves, and you are not welcome being there. Here in Germany this phenomenon is called Parallelgeselschaften or parallel societies. Yes, you see people from all around the world, but it doesn't mean you are in an international place, all the expats are within themselves. The society is not open to accept them. As a specialist, you can be much happier living in an English-speaking country which is tolerant and allows you to be part of the society. I should say however, I have had also nice German colleagues who were really open-minded and truely have an international mindset and separate themselves from the historic racist mindset. Putting this comment here, I am ready for racist comments coming towards me. Go ahead.
