I'm a US dual citizen. I live abroad, in Asia, so I'm not affected but this is just so dismaying. There is utterly no reason for starting this chaos. The American people voted for Trump (who knows why) and thus chaos and suffering is what people get.

The reason trump can get away with it is, Canada, Mexico and China export way more goods to the US than we do to them. They're going to pay a lot more over time. Trump knows he has them by the gonads.

All this because the US cannot get it's fellow citizens and most vulnerable people the help they need with their addictions. The American coal exported through Roberts Bank does not even pay a provincial carbon tax like all BC residents pay. They all need and want our lumber, minerals, oil and gas, grass fed beef, and the dependable, respectful trading partner that we are.

As an American I believe ALL Canadians should boycott US products and spending in the USA. This is not how the USA should treat its allies and friends. Now Canada will never trust the US and things will escalate. how dead do your brain cells have to be to think that doing something like this will immediately solve the problem. If there wasn't a demand there wouldnt be anyone trying to fill the demand. Purdue Pharma also helped create the demand by pushing highly addictive opioid drugs and lying about it to people. Those people they hooked didn't suddenly disappear. It created a chain that we are still seeing today. They would rather put a bandage on the bleeding wound than cough up the money and the actual will to start solving the crisis that is driving people into drugs. Like lack of affordable housing, once people lose that safety and are on the street drugs end up providing a relief from their situation. Lack of any meaningful mental health care, or any health care at all. There are underlying things that aren't getting solved, people will always find new ways to find or make drugs whether those drugs come from other countries or just created inside the US.

Trumps first tariff was on steel. It worked so well that US Steel is trying to sell itself to Japan. I wonder why that is not getting more attention....

Maybe I shouldn't like this but I do. Firstly, Canada has the luxury of not really needing to protect itself, they get to spend 3% what the US does on their military so they can focus on other things, like letting immigrants into the Country to price out the native Canadians and jailing people for misusing pronouns. Also, I want to see the US become slightly more isolationist, I'll happily pay more for US products. A tariff is paid buy the businesses who attempt to pass that cost down to the consumer. We need tariffs high enough that making things in the US makes more sense to these businesses.

Don't worry about American auto industries an electric car will get a business a billionaire will become trillionaires who care if US public face inflation

I have 2 brothers that live in the US and they both enjoy living there. Yes, the medical is expensive and not as good as Canada's medical plan. But it's also true that you could get in fast all in the US. Hospitals pill to getting in to Canadian hospitals for appointments. For\n Myself, I love, the US has lot of nice cultures. My wife came to America from Russia over 20 years ago.. It took her 3 1/2 years to get approval to come to America legally… she’s now an American citizen.. it’s people like her that are livid over this mess. My dude you just said that health care is never discussed in american politics. \n\nAlso, all these people saying that health care in Canada takes years and years for things that take weeks in the US are typically full of it. Yeah. Some provinces that shall remain nameless like to break contracts with health care professionals, resulting in shortages of certain types of workers. \n\nI live in remote northish parts of my province (not NWT, Yukon, or Nunavut), and 6 years ago I was diagnosed w/ lymphoma. They had me set up to do chemotherapy treatment within 2 weeks. They wanted me to start that weekend, but I needed the time to put my work in order for me to be gone for an extended period, get applications set up for EI/Healthcare claims, and figure out who in my family I wanted to share the information with. \n\nIn Canada you end up waiting for elective surgeries and treatments, because they aren't critical by virtue of being elective. That's about it. If you need an elective and have 10K in your pocket not doing anything, go ahead and go to the states.

Don't be daft. In 2024, over $180 BILLION was given to Ukraine. In 2025, Ukraine will receive ZERO aid and that money of $180,000,000,000 will more than suffice to build a forever prison for Illegal Aliens, who invaded the US to get free housing, free food, free care.
