You can see the GDP increase while the GDP per capital decreased…\n\nNo wonder our housing costs are so high, you can’t magically increase housing supply at the rate in which immigration has gone into hyperinflation along with the hyperinflation in housing, food cost, energy costs… Trudeau has been destroying Canada, you can’t keep bringing in skilled new immigrants and not expect the cost of labour to decrease… \n\nCanada has only been holding on because America enjoys outsourcing some highly skilled jobs to Canada, as the cost of our labour is so incredibly cheap, because of our artificially depressed labour costs do to our specific immigration policy… Our immigration policy incentivized those with more education and work experience to be accepted into Canada… Seriousky what your seeing more and more of is rich new immigrants to Canada using us as simply a place to store wealth, launder money, increase Canadian asset prices, then use Canadian citizenship, or Permanent Residency as a springboard into getting into the USA… It’s so sad to watch my country destroy itself through horrible policy, and the complete ambivalence of our elite to the problem…People often forget just how monopolistic major Canadian companies are, and just how corrupt and nepotistic our politics are… Incoukd vent for days about how Trudeau has been destroying Canada… It sucks because for the most part the well educated, polite , and overall just good people who arrive as new immigrants to Canada have been amazing people to meet and make friends with, but I see the stress that everyone is feeling, and the resentments that can fester if not discussed out in the open… I hate to see conflicts between those born in Canada, those who have become new Canadians, and those who just landed here! Sorry, but you are wrong about crime in Toronto. Yes, there were some random murders -- but if you research your history, you will find that these rare randoms have happened in the past. Toronto is statistically THE safest city of its size in North America. Homicies overall have decreased in the past three years. Toronto remains a city in which I would walk anywhere, day or night. It really is that safe. And yes, I get that I'm a guy and that makes a difference. But still, where else can you say that? Certainly not in any American city of any size.

America is a good place to live. I have visited a number of places in the USA and it's a free first world country with alot of fun and cool places to see and do. Just like every country in the world there are positives and negatives. I think that the health care is majorly flawed in America. Health insurance is too expensive for the average person and if you get really sick and don't have health insurance in America you are probably going to die. I also don't like that there is no gun control and way to many murders and violence in the USA. Those are the 2 biggest problems that make me not want to live there.

Singapore Airlines is an absolute treat to fly on. I gather in a microcosm, it is interesting to compare Air Canada and Singapore airline or all Nippon airways, with Air Canada. Air Canada is very expensive for a one or two hour flight, not so in Southeast Asia. Air Canada service is horrible, intimidating, and nasty. Singapore airlines and all Nippon airways, is exactly the opposite. Air Canada makes it very difficult for you too make claims on cancelled flights, broken luggage, and breaches of contract. Singapore airlines and other airlines in Southeast Asia go out of their way to advert a claim. The taxes on a ticket with Canada is horrendous, both indirect and direct taxes, in Singapore and all Nippon airways, much more reasonable. I think when you compare to airlines or multiple airlines against Air Canada, Air Canada is a microcosm of economics, workplace normality, and courteousness. Canadians will always say “I am sorry. “but let me assure you for somebody that is both, culturally Asian and Canadian, they don’t mean it a bit. The culture is more passive aggressive than anything else. Canadians are distant, and have a very, very remote education on their own country. I also have to give credit to the Singaporean pilots. There is usually the captain, first officer, and a second officer or two upfront. Excellent training for the up-and-coming first officers and captains. In Canada, of course we don’t do this. I feel at the safety upfront, especially in an IFR environment, is being sacrificed in Canada and North America. cost is everything, will safety seems like it has taken a backseat. Second officers should be mandatory on all Air Canada flights. This is not the case anymore. Also, on a visual approach to hit the button, I would definitely give the Singapore captain the edge. The hands and feet of an air. Canada pilot has deteriorated beyond belief where, if they don’t have their flight management system and auto pilot going in full tilt, they start sweating and second-guessing themselves. I’ve witnessed this many times.

Canadian born citizen here. I am almost done my degree. Once I'm done well I have been saving up for tuition well before starting university so I will pay that in cash and then head out to perhaps the states. I get it that they have the same issues as us but there is definitely room for improvement. You can't progress in Canada like you can in America. The most you will make in Canada is what you are paid for a few years of experience in America. Have several years of experience? You will make double. When I visit America, I always just feel anxious about guns. I'm sure it's super rare to actually get shot and stuff, but it's always on my mind. I just can't imagine that theres probably tons of people with guns around. It makes me a lot more afraid of the poor areas, which I find are more extreme in general. This is the main reason. I am also a little uncomfortable with how the public school system is funded differently by area. I'm used to all schools having close to the same standards.

It can be affordable *today* if you move there, but it is likely not affordable if you live there and make their wages.\n\nToronto has become more expensive as time passes. It was great value in the 1990s when things were cheaper, when Toronto's future was less solidified, and there were less immigrants. Now, it is keeping up in cost with other walkable, dense cities in North America.

I have lived in UK, Australia, US and Canada. I spent 2 years in UK, 1 year in Australia then moved to US for my masters where I also worked for 6 years. So total of 8 years in US, I moved to India and had adjustment issues. Then 1.5 year later I moved to Canada as permanent resident. After 2 years, I ended up leaving Canada back to India. Some people suggested wait for another 13 months and return with Canadian citizenship but I had enough. What I have realized is, for tech/scientific roles, Canada or other countries are no match for the US. \nAlso, Americans are much kinder and open than people in Canada/UK/Australia. All these countries are expensive, quality of work and pay is not good. I was getting 150K CAD in Canada, where I pay 2100 CAD as 1 BHK rent. In India, I make 90K CAD and 2 BHK rent is 400 CAD. To me, America has no replacement, that's why people dont want to leave the US. I was not willing to spend whole life waiting for green card, and other countries are no match for US. That's why came back to India fro second time, despite the issues here.

Much of Europe and America & Canada are not desirable anymore. Politicians are allowing 10's of millions of migrants in. We have bad economies, high inflation and a housing shortage and now there's pressure for more housing driving up the cost of living for citizens making them homeless. On top of that they're purposely driving down WAGES with all the migrants making OUR labor less valuable. I lived in Western Europe, Japan and at the moment, Canada. I lucked out getting a well paying job in Vancouver when I moved back a few years ago and my average tax rate is actually the exact percentage you stated in the video - 28%, which includes income tax, pension and employment insurance. (e.g., quick train ride to Paris for the weekend) Now, I take cheap flights (e.g. Flair Airlines) to Mexico instead.\n\nJust to state some data points: when I was in Europe, I paid a total average of 39% income tax on a lower salary than I have right now in Canada. Things like utilities (e.g., gas/electricity), restaurants, certain grocery items and electronics (e.g., iphone/PS5/computers) were significantly more expensive because European VAT (inclusive) is usually 20%+. \n\nI don't have the exact numbers but on average I believe I was paying 70 - 90€ ($100 - 130 CAD) just for electricity each month for a small flat, but I am now paying $30 - 50 CAD for a decent sized 1 bedroom. I believe my housing gas bill was about the same or possibly a bit more. In addition, automobile gas prices were much higher (about $2€/L on average which is $2.90 CAD/L) and I think they could go even higher right now. \n\nHowever, rent is definitely more expensive in Vancouver, but I believe that is true for many West coast cities in North America. As a canadian i never thoughg of living anywhere else vanxouver is so beautiful. Growing up govrnmebt started cutting programs and services in schools ans public resources. And kept doing it. \n\nNow they are removinf beautiful homes to build ugly apartments no yards .\n\nThere is not enough public space. Everyone is moving to the city. We use to be able to go to the beach on a weekday in spring and there was no one. Now its packes. To get to the bathroom was almost a block long. The bathrooms are small. Goos for population we has in the early 90s. We need somethings 4x larger now. \n\nIm ok with new comers but if they create a new community in the rural areas. We have so many areas up north no one moves to.\n\nOr lots of space to build new communities up north, not deatroy the current communities that already exist. \n\nWith all the new apartments there is not enough space for cara, no parking and no room on public transportation.\n\nSimply, the city cannot support anymore people. Its unrealistic. \nI worked with a girk who shares a 1 bedroom apartment with 5 other people and she still paid 1500 a month for rent.\n\nThis will soon be like america - run down, extreme poverty & homelessness. The homelessness has gotten so extreme.\n\nWages havw increased maybe 3x since i was a kid, but pricea rose eveey year.\n\nAs a kid we paid $850 for 3 bedrooms.
