As a Canadian, here's my biggest concern. The whole border thing was nothing more than a ruse. Trump has cozied up to Putin ... basically, he's Putin's poodle. He's tossed Ukraine to the wolves. (Though, I think Europe and Canada will increase their efforts to help Ukraine.) My fear is Trump will find some way to justify sending American troops into Canada to simply seize the resources he wants but is unwilling to trade for.

As a u.s citzen I'm appalled and ashamed of my president. It's got nothing to do with Putin, or at least very little. Trump wants the tariff money for his billionaire tax cuts. That's it.\n\nEveryone is making this much more complex than it is. He wants the money for his tax cuts and that's why Canada and Mexico can do nothing to stop the tariffs. They're baked into the foundations of Trump's plan.
