As a European having lived in both Canada and the United States for prolonged times, my view is this: Canadians are basically the same as Americans but with Health Care. They have a common heritage and history and this is like a brother turning evil and hurting its siblings. Trump is smart? I don't think so, he comes across as a low IQ individual born with privileges, heck he has been bankrupt what is it four times? Right now he thinks he is making America Great again but instead he is on a path to bankrupt even the US Economy. These kind of things in history often have caused actual physical War and he talks about Zelenski is toying with a 3rd world war. Wouldn't it be funny (and not in a comical sense) if in fact Trump causes the 3rd world war with his actions instead?

Wow PM Trudeau speaks only the truth. ? how reassuring to see our leader being so sincere and standing strong for the people in Canada and clearly showing the world and people in the US the truth that the US GOVERNMENT hates to hear. What a disgrace to have such malicious people in the administration when the power could be used to save people and make the society better. Their slogan is frankly MAWA - make America worse again (2nd trump term). So happy to see PM Trudeau telling its dumb to do this directly to the orange sack of s*hit. Maple Pride is strong!!! I voted for Trump, but it's hard not to agree with Trudeau on this even though I find this guy to be extremely unpleasant. There's no reason to start trade wars all over the world and in particular with our neighbors. It's one thing to threaten tariffs and a very different thing to actually apply them. If you do it has to be accompanied by a lot of diplomacy so that the other country is not overreacting, but Trump has been super combative prompting our neighbors to respond in kind to save face. While past deals may not have been great for US, this is not the way to handle our differences. Billionaires like Trump and his friends will be fine, but the majority of ordinary folks in the US and Canada will suffer. Very dumb, indeed.

Trudeau was never ever seen as a smart man. It is a mockery for a fool to call a genius dumb. Aka: Same as AOC calling Elon Musk not smart. AOC's brain cells could barely count to 100. \nBut honestly, this fool Trudeau who is resigning because in the end he proved worthless and like a little lap dog had to snap at President Trump as he is ready to be ousted because he, himself knows that in today's world he is totally incompetent. \nMost true Americans know President Trump is right. And though we disagree on making Canada our 51st state, because we prefer to have it as our personal Democrat reject dump site.\nThe Stock Market downfall you can rest assured are more of the Democrats boycotting America which we have always known to back stab America every chance they get. Democrats have always been Americas traitors, and we wouldn't expect any different from them now.

Lets get it started. I support president Trump. America has been taken advantage for so long. Canada has been a back door for China to move illegal products and people into the Us. You are owned by China. Your economy sucks, you cannot afford this trade war against us. Your border is not safe. Your military contribution is the bottom of the list. This was an impressive speech and chilling to the bone. People should understand the undertone that this already is the first stage of a war. America is not talking friendly anymore to Europe or Canada, the alliance is questionable now at best, treaties don't matter anymore and the US government openly supports and defends totalitarian regimes like in Russia. It irritates me that Trump attacks canada for fentanyl and illegal immigration when its the other boarder that is the vast majority supplier. Trump has not given a resoanble or justifiable reason for these tarrifs in my mind. Its a shame as some of Trumps ideas and plans I agree with but so far the vast majority of his action has not been. I have been visiting canada frequently for my outings, if I go oit for dinner or entertainment ive been making a 1 hr drive to do so, vs a 45 minute drive to seattle. I will continue to soend every leisure dollar in canada untill this tarrif trade war is corrected.

Harris voter here, you gotta do what you gotta do Canada. I don't know if I will make it through this but there are people out there in worse situations with more overtly oppressive governments, so I can't complain too much. Mexico and Canada's exports are 70-80% to the USA while we only export 13-14% to them. This means most of their economy relies on the USA and only a small of ours rely on theirs.
