No matter how much fentanyl is controlled across borders he was still guaranteed in imposing the 25% trade tariff. \nCanada govt invested so much into the border security recently and visited multiple times in Washington to discuss this 25% trade tariff but all of them forgot that Trump is a very aggressive and stubborn when it comes to money!\n\nI am glad Trump has made Canada and even Trudeau bold and self dependent now!

No more selling off our Crown corporations our land and other businesses to foreign countries. Keep Canada Canadian and give jobs to born Canadians first. Stock pile our oil and gas for our use and lower the prices of these things so that transportation cost make things easier for business and personal enjoyment. Don't tax the farmer so that they can supply food to everyone cheaper. We should not be struggling in this country which has all the natural resources . The unnatural population growth has put a strain on the whole system and in some cases put us in danger too. The crime rate has increased in large part to your lax immigration system. All the businesses increased the prices of everything due to this unnatural population growth. Supply and demand is not working the way it is supposed to anymore. In a normal household we make plans and prepare for changes. You just said ok, let's bring people here and forgot about the preparations. Infrastructure first man. If your going to bring half a million people over here, build the houses first bro. Nobody in Canada should be homeless which is another result of poor preparation. The housing prices and everything else went through the roof in large part due to the unnatural population growth. Anyway, think first before you act just like in a private home. I voted for Trump and a lot of his policies and actions I agree with, THIS one I do not, Canada did not let in NEARLY as many illegal immigrants as Mexico so it makes no sense why he is punishing them, and he isn't, he just doesn't like Trudeau probably because he was friends or friendly with Biden, same with Zelensky AND Canada wanted to ban products from red states for electing him which is frankly just a stupid policy. \nThis is not hard to figure out, Trump doesn't like Trudeau and Ford, plain and simple......it really is THAT shallow, he is trolling Trudeau by calling them the 51st state and anyone know knows Trump and how he thinks knows that.

Trudeau is far from perfect. He has done some stupid stuff during his time as PM and before he was PM. But I will never doubt his love for Canada and appreciate him standing up to the Trump Administration. Yes, of course he has a speech writer. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

I wish I could move to Canada where there are actual “rational thinking leaders”. It is so refreshing to listen to President Trudeau…he seems so sane, so even tempered and SO normal and he presents himself as a very mature thinking adult with excellent leadership, communication and motivational skills. So sad that we cannot say that about Trump and his pathetic “cult-like” followers!

I have no idea if Prime Minister Trudeau reads any of these comments or if his team does, but as an American, I am ashamed of our current government. We have a narcissist for a leader who is a bad businessman and a puppet of Putin. How refreshing to see a real LEADER who actually cares about his country and not himself. I support Canada wholeheartedly. I suspect many Americans will be hurt badly by these embargoes and (justified) retaliatory tariffs - but so be it.
