Yes actually I do have a comment or two. I think that Toronto has become the victim of either its own success as a multicultural, diverse and growing metropolis or the perceived idea that Toronto is the place to be. And what that brings with it? Yes, people who are interested in living the life and those who can afford it pay it. You said it very well, the city has become unaffordable to most people but the wealthy or at least those who are getting paid the best salaries and those who bank on real estate take advantage of this, be it the hype or reality since also, most job opportunities are still there. So to me the problem is with the lack of contro of the real estate market. And people who cant pay but for whatever reason live there just have to pay the price. The refugee situation is not surprising to me at all. We are struggling with affordable housing for crying out loud but we are also advertising to the world that we are that welcoming and peaceful society that those people can be part of. But at what cost. Toronto cannot continue like this if it will still be considered as a city for the people and not the wealthy and chronically increasing poor. No wonder they chose a progressive for a mayor and not a conservative or hard line liberal because people want change but not radically. People want to live in the best city they can having all necessary services and in peace and safety. Bhai, this is the usual problem with all western countries. They can not handle their inflation and welfare system is a burden that the politicians can not get rid off. Just like our reservation system in India which we can still tackle to some extent. But their welfare system includes students, disabled, elderlies, unemployed, rehabilitation of drugs, refugees intake every year. Besides, Chinese buyers are inflating the housing market everywhere in the world.\nAll my friends only want to invest in India and nowhere else lol. \nAnother thing I observed is that when people bring their parents overseas I do not see them happy. When I pass by them they stop for a second as if they are trying to talk to me. They have freedom in India to go to their friends and family but over here they just go for a walk around the mall, struggle to buy anything from supermarket and kids can't give them enough time.

I've been living in Toronto for over thirty (30) years with a little two years try in Halifax, which didn't work due to the lack of meaningful jobs.\nWhen I arrived here in the late 80th I was very impressed with all the services provided and the speed to see medical professionals.\nI'd spent almost 10 years without a family doctor since my first one retired, and now I'm fortunate enough to have one who is so busy that I have to wait months for an appointment.\n\nIt is painful to notice that already paid services are disappearing and how dirty and dangerous this, once an amazing city, is today.\n\nI'm retired now just waiting for my wife to do the same to move out of this country, with the hope that our very low combined pensions will be enough to live somewhere else.\nMoving out of the city, even out of the province, it is not an alternative since anywhere out of here, includes having a car with all the expenses that this include.\n\nSad reality for retirees and specially for young couples with children in tow.\nSoon we will see this beautiful country devoid of human qualified presence to support all the neglected refugees that are coming.\n\nWho knows, maybe this is a new experiment on how so many homeless people can survive the harsh winter.\nGreetings from Toronto.

I’m a Toronto born proud Canadian. And I DON’T agree with the immigration system. It’s stupid. Outright. Yes my parents are immigrants and I’m LUCKY to have been born here but it’s just a matter of no space and jobs suitable for the unaffordable housing crisis. At least from what I have seen in Ghana, people are starting businesses.\n\nI am going to say something I observed about Ghana. I found out that women, as usual, are more hard-working. I realised that the men don't have work because they are lazy or have too much pride. I have watched so many videos where so many business owners complain about the ineffectiveness and inefficiencies of the workers. They are not dedicated when they work for other people. I watched these business owners whose workers in the farms are mostly women, and they were very happy that women are easier to control and have good work ethics as opposed to men. The men prefer jobs where they don't use their energies such as Yahoo Yahoo boys, selling in shops where they don't touch anything or lift a finger.\n\nGrowing up, we knew that men were supposed to do the hard-working jobs in society. But these days, men like to idle around and touch nothing. The reasons being that the African culture teaches us that men are not supposed to do anything at home. They are supposed to be served by women. Then, instead of the men going out there to do the hard work and make the money, they wait around expecting cushy jobs that don't make them lift a finger.\n\nLook at China that you mentioned. These boys work absolutely hard. Even in the villages. Look at Muslim countries. You will never see women working on the streets. The men are even the ones who cook the food on the streets and sell. Check countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. In Africa, most things are done by women.\n\nAll this japa that people are fighting for. Have we ever thought of the agenda of these people needing free and cheap labour? I came to realise that we stupid Africans don't yet understand. Our children eventually become strangers, and we remain just surrogate parents. Most of our children are never going back to Africa, and when they get to an age, they become like strangers to us. Whatever we say, they look at us like archaic. What then makes them Africans anyway. We have seen so many of them who barely know their countries of origin and have never ever been there. They do not know their relations. In fifty years' time, that generation has lost their roots, and was that our intentions initially? This all dawned on me recently with my children, and I feel absolutely dejected because they are not interested in our country. All my hard work is gone down the drain, and all that can happen is for us to leave our children behind and live like people who never had children in the first place. For now, most people see it like something to be proud of, and are happy to say ( my children live abroad). Africans are the most stupid people I know, and that is why we are always used for slave labour. Why are they all approving all these visas and allowing all these people to drown at sea? \n\nThese countries allow these fake visas deliberately because they drain African countries to enrich their own since they can't get the minerals easily these days.

Seriously are they coming to study or finding a loophole to gain immigration. This is an interesting overview of Canada and its many issues. I would love to see a follow up video or two looking into these same issues but from a few different perspectives. 1) regionally - Canada is very diverse so our regions are quite different in culture, problems and cause of each. The major regions are: Maritimes/Ontario/Quebec/Prairies/West Coast/ Territories. 2) because of our diverse landscape different races are attracted to different areas. I have not studied this impact on our racism and political issues but would love to see someone like you do so. It appears to me that immigrants are disproportionately gathered along the US/Canada border and big cities, particularly east and west coast. First Nations are disproportionately populated in Rural and northern areas where resources overall are less available to all races. I would expect to find that this population disbursement would also reflect in our political leadership. For example more populated cities are far more likely to have immigrant own businesses and politicians, In rural and northern communities politicians are more likely to be white because First Nations politicians would be more inclined to work within the First Nations political channels where they can actually do more good for their communities. 3) The diversity that makes up 'white' as a race. It appears to me that Canada historically has been more inclined to attract 'White' races versus other 'colours'. We have large populations of British, Swedish, Irish, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Norwegian, and Polish to name a few. All of which have large diversity in their culture and history but are often classified as 'white'. 4) The massive impact the past 5 + years of politics and world affairs have had on the divisions within Canada. Personally I see and feel far, far more judgements between races, economics and regions than ever before.

Deport all these people every single one of them that illegally entered the US! We cannot substantiate Noor house all these illegal immigrants that are flooding the borders! This capitalism and worship of the Economy isn't working for most of us. Why aren't we trying to change it and find alternatives. I myself been moving around and living in different Western countries, and despite the difficulties, I don't regret anything. I live in Brampton Ontario Canada and I second everything Mr. Ashir Azeeem has said. He is an honest man and doing all this voluntarily for the community. I love the idea he is working on creating a community app that is badly needed here as we as a community are weak and we do not have a one voice. Lived in Canada near Toronto my whole life, almost 30 years. My family moved here from Ireland.\nI will never be able to afford my own home at this rate. Theyre not building affordable housing and many immigrant families that move to Canada are large and pool all their resources to buy each other homes, which would be a good idea if it didnt screw over everyone else looking for homes. I do work with pools and I see immigrant families living in large, expensive homes regularly who own multiple homes. Between that and foreign investment/richer people snapping up homes to rent, everyone looking for a home or rent is getting gutted financially. People who have lived here their whole lives are struggling.\nThere needs to be much stricter regulations when it comes to housing and how many you can own. We need affordable housing that isnt snatched up by one person or group to turn into rentals.

Stop giving them free aid: medical ETB school anything they do not deserve, the people born in the USA cannot get anything as fast and undocumented as these people get, the government needs to do better. Why do they want to come into the U.S. in the first place? If it's escaping the cartels well then I can see why I don't blame them but if it's to find better work good luck. It's no different here then it is there. Low pay & housing is extremely expensive we have like over a million homeless people here so good luck finding affordable housing plus not very low income housing here at all & really no welfare. I feel very safe in downtown Toronto because I am accustomed to it. I've never experienced any issue with the homeless and continue to talk to them, offer them food IFFFF they just happen to be pan-handling and often hug them to make them very SEEN. I feel safer in downtown Toronto at 3 am then I do when the 905'ers (suburban types) come to party in the entertainment district or around any French-separatist bc of how they are liable to treat me for my lack of decent conversational French. And IF guns are reported, I have to the thank the US for smuggling them in. \nFinally - as for health care - I believe its breaking down... our hospitals are beginning to fail us. The decline in health care is SO evident, BECAUSE anytime the Conservative party is in provincial legislative power they drop medical and education funding. I believe medical funding is being dropped purposefully to manipulate the population's thinking in order to have us eventually\nvote FOR privatization of health care. I NEVER MIND PAYING TAXES - WHAT I MIND... IS HOW OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE BEING SPENT... it all depends on the party in power. I would pay 40% income tax happily IFFFF our tax dollars were devoted to services mirroring the way Scandinavian countries do - they invest it WELL in their municipal services rather rather than blow it. \nOur federal and provincial bureaucrats are sucking. Fine... our municipal bureaucrats are sucking, too. Oh, Canada - I love you and wish Pierre Trudeau, or Joe Clark or Ed Broadbent were back in Parliament. I miss you Jack Layton. The real problem is government policies.. Yes we do need to help disadvantage Americans first but let's be fr its enough resources for the world to have Peace if we work together but the powers that be will always put us up against each other so we don't recognize who the real enemy is. I truly understand and sympathize with all sides of this situation but until we stand together as one and demand change we will fall for ANYTHING unfortunately ?

And for everyone (legal or undocumented) who thinks we should open our borders to everyone immediately, you should sign up to house and feed these people. And for all the people who come here with no invite but the others have to wait in line, you should be required to do community work for free to pay back the kindness and not be given any assistance or tax credit at the end of the year. But you should be allowed healthcare access like everyone else. The first child can be American but none after that.

Why do I feel Biden is to blame. On the surface. But you know who is really to blame, Castro. Castro communism has destroyed and destabilized all of America beginning in 1959. Apartments are high in price bc there is not enough housing and people will just pay whatver a landlord is requiring bc they have no other choices. We also live in a capitalist dictatorship where everything is based off what ppl will pay for it. Ppl will pay for outrageous prices by getting roommates bc that's better than being homeless. So many ppl need housing that a lot of apts are on the wevsite for only 1 or 2 days before being rented. The real problem is actually wages. Housing has gone up with inflation. Property managers still have to pay for things when they are broken or even for cleaning an apt after someone moves out. All of those prices has gone up, so its not like Property managers are raising prices to screw over ppl. They do it bc the cost of everything is going up. The real problem is wages are not going up.

I hate this so much. I know it’s not these peoples fault that their countries aren’t helping them but America isn’t even helping its own people. Imagine how it feels to be from the US struggling and then these people come and somehow our country has the means to help them when they won’t not can’t won’t help their own. What other country do you know of where you can just decide to cross their boarder demand help and say you know what I’m just going to live here illegally now. And if we don’t help them they have all kinds of ways to sue the state and demand help even though they’re not even citizens. That’s what’s crazy to me. They make you do a bunch of stuff before you can travel and some countries won’t even let you visit let alone live there with or without a criminal record but these people can just walk right in. Any countries borders are important they are there for protection. Ours are not being protected which means the country is not protected. The scene where Roses mom is in the boat with that other lady who has new money the chubby one. She wanted to let people on the boat that were drowning around her, and dude wouldn’t let her. It wasn’t because he was being mean it was because if people started holding onto the boat and trying to get on the boat they would panic, and eventually everybody would swarm the boat. The boat would not have been able to hold the weight of everyone holding onto it. Well the same here there’s people who are already drowning, and other people from other countries want to come here, but all they’re gonna do is sink the ship, and then there will be no help for anybody and everyone will be doomed. America has its our own problems and the citizens pay taxes that are never used to help them. Instead the government gives money away to other countries like it’s nothing. I am today a senior grandfather. I have spent much time in the USA, from Texas, New York, and out west in Ohio and California. I found the people I met and befriended and business partners to be as nice as Canadians. Most were generous in all ways. At some point, I thought about relocating, but...\n\nCanada had less money to offer as income, but considerably less expense. Nearly free university, a well educated population, a government not controlled by corporate money or interests. We have no right to have guns, though some of the well-to-do have hunting rifles. We do not live in fear if a stranger knocks on the door. We have government medical and prescription protection. Noone, repeat, has guns at home.\nRegarding prescription insurance, I pay a small fee per month ($30) and I have the government cover 80% of the cost. My kids, until age 18 were also covered for medication.\nUniversity at today cost is about $400/course plus $350/semister.\nDoctor visits are free, as well as hospital stays and surgery.\nThe average Canadian lifespan is 3-4 years more than the USA.\nThe cost of living is higher by 1/3 for food. Housing is about the same or slightly more, because we have winters and need to heat in winter and a/c in summer. Even so, electricity or gas is less expensive.\n\nSummary. With less money, we have a higher standard of living.

Obviously the USA is number one choice. My brother is in robotics. Top of his class, go getter, good connections, etc. $80k canadian a year, moved to america, makes $250k american plus stock options (accounting for the exhange rate that's closer to $60k USD for the job in canada)\n\nCanada is great for mediocrity. America is great for excellence. \n\nIt is better to be bottom in the barrel in canada. It's better to be in the top in the usa. We do have a lot of higher payed unskilled jobs. Tree planting in canada for example can pay $30-60 an hour, whereas in america it's ussually closer to minimum wage (also due to geographical and structural differences within the same job). Whereas all tech and medical jobs will pay drastically higher in the USA.

the way you paint Canada at the end is very untrue - refugees are treated horribly here. when we took in the people from Syria they were put in homeless shelters and weren't given food or proper clothing (it was winter and -30c out). as of typing this there are camps/tents set up in the streets of downtown toronto for refugees we just brought in that have no where to go. we brought them here in a hopes of a better life and made them apart of the ever growing homeless population. we also just deported over 700 Indian students who came to Canada under fraudulent circumstances. maybe if you are rich life is different (thats really all you cover) but if you are an International student or a refugee this is not the place to be - we take in so many International students because they have to pay 3x to 4x more than someone born here. do more research into your videos please this and the other comment i left are all breaking or top stories in canada not hard to learn and could of added so much to this topic instead of painting canada in a near utopian image

I think what you said about being desensitizing is true, I think because the gun violence, the crazy politics, and the attacks on women’s and minority rights, these are things that have become so common in the US that American started to see these things as “normal”. And to a lot of Canadians, these are our core values. A lot of us are proud that we don’t have that (serious of) these issues here, so I am not surprised in any sense that majority if not all of those people in that subreddit said no.\n\nI used to travel to the US for a living, and I actually asked to change my job so I don’t have to do that anymore. I didn’t feel safe, I didn’t feel good when I travel there. You mentioned it’s depending on the cities, and you might be right, but I can tell you I have met A LOT of very crazy people during my years of travels, and they are all friend very different places: the east, the south, the west, big and small cities.

I'm Canadian and worked in Dertoit for almost 10 years, I crossed the border daily working for GM. I've also done work in Louisiana, Indiana and all around Michigan. \nAmerica has some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's a beautiful country and has a ton to offer anyone with an ounce of drive. The variety you have in your economy is amazing, we don't have a lot of choice when we buy stuff, you guys have so much more to choose from, take restaurants for example, I've never seen so many chain restaurants in one place, we have a handful of them. \nFrom what I've seen, there's also a lot of poverty, crime and violence, but that's literally everywhere right now, even here in Canada, we don't prosecute violent crime anymore. The gun issue is probably the biggest problem...I always felt extremely vulnerable out in public, especially driving, because I assumed everyone had a gun on them, I seen so many random guns on people, it just blew my mind. I always had to keep in mind when I was driving not to road-rage...That's how you get shot. The health care industry in America is nothing but a business model designed to bankrupt people. Our system isn't great at all...nothing to boast about. If you have to visit the ER at any hospital, you'd better bring food and water, you'll be there at least 8 hours before you're even seen by a doctor. Our health care is free yes, but we're taxed to death here because of it. I do indeed wish we had a 2-teir health care system, I want the option to pay to get seen soonest. America and Canada have free(ish) speech. We're both being ruled by leftist loonies, but that's all changing in our next respective election cycles. Biden and Trudeau will be shown the door and we can hopefully get back to healthy debate and more conversation in society...Instead of automatically dismissing each other, vitriolic badgering one another and hating each other. We had unity for a brief time, we all saw it, after 9/11 happened. We put our petty crap aside and saw each other as brothers and sisters. That didn't last very long and we've been in a constant state of crisis ever since. The media has driven a huge nail right through society, and takes a blow at every single issue we face, making it Left vs Right...\nIt's unfortunate to say, but it's going to take something truly devastating, possibly on a biblical scale, for us to come together again.

I'm not an immigration expert or an economist, but the problem with Canada isn't our immigration system, but WHAT the immigrants do afterwards. Sure, we take in hundreds of thousands of them...but for what jobs? Is Canada, for example, a truly dynamic tech hub? At one point yes, but only briefly and it seems like that process has stalled out considerably since the pandemic.\nDo we have the infrastructure for all of these people or are we adding hundreds of thousands of new competitors for housing? We have population growth, but the wages are so uncompetitive that it increasingly feels like Canada is inviting immigrants in to build the country...but Canadians have to create things for them to build or else, this doesn't really work, and these highly mobile, educated people will end up leaving (which is already a problem).

Health care from your job? How did that work out for everyone during the pandemic? Ppl who lost their jobs in the states? All Canadians, even if they lost their jobs kept all their healthcare for free. Having a baby? Just pay the cost to park at the hospital, have cancer/heart attack - same, just what it cost you at the lot, $3.50. Health care is huge. Need to go to your doctor, no second thoughts bc u don’t have money. We do have a little longer waits for non serious surgeries, but all serious and emergency stuff is done asap. We all appreciate our health care so much when compared to the US.

The USA can be a nice place to visit, and I have a lot of friends and family there. But I would never move to the States from Canada. Starting with health care and winding through a ton of social rights issues, there is no comparison. We're not perfect, we all have work to do, but the US is scary for more than a visit ....

I do appreciate that but here in this podcast its about 3 main countries- Australia, UAE And Canada. \nRegarding Australia i can't comment much as i personally dont have any experience with that country but yes my cousins are there. Regarding UAE- Whatever ashr and sana said i dont agree at all because we have spend more than 15 years in UAE with very decent job. We were quiet free to do all the activities of bank, driving license and all. That country has its own charm. May be Ashr has worked in very small company where he has to go through those things but things are quiet different there. And yes it is very hot in dubai from may to August just came like punjab and delhi in India but aisa b nhi h ki bande ki jaan hi nikale.
