Why do a piece like this when it is clearly obvious when you interview actual servicemembers past and present about the importance of military camaraderie and mental fitness. If somebody is confused about their sex or gender, that is a mental illness which excludes such people from serving in the United States military branches. CNN gets it wrong, on the wrong side of history even after such extreme ratings losses and audience. Kaitlin is not helping AT ALL.

We each have our little flickers of time here... No one else will ever know much, if any, of what it is like to be who we are, and for the most part no one will ever really care. In all cases whatever the choice may be, we will only know the outcome of the one we take, and none we take will ever ultimately resolve the uncertainty of life. However, perhaps it is less about getting a potential course of life right, and more about attempting to do so with an effort of self honesty and virtue. To live a life that can be looked back on with the knowledge that some of our decisions were wrong in their effects, but right in their intention of not selling ourselves short. Ultimately no matter what we do or say or believe, there will always be a great many who disagree, or judge, or become upset by our decisions. It is of essential importance that we ensure that among those people, we are not one of them.

Retired Navy here and am glad when I served we didnt have to deal with this weirdness .... we just booted them out. There is something wrong inside a persons head when they cant identify with the sex they are.

There is no question anyone can be qualified to serve. My problem has to do with a society that feels entitled enough to fix nature’s alleged “mistakes”. There is no such thing as being born in the wrong body. That is a social invention. There always were effeminate men and masculine women. However, today we feel entitled to push the envelope because some plastic surgeons can make a decent looking pair of boobs but at the end of the day these gender transitions are social and medical experiments. A man who thinks he is a woman is like an anorexic woman who thinks she is fat. It is a mental disorder and should be treated as such. Offering gender affirming surgery to a person is like offering liposuction to someone suffering from anorexia. It is feeding a delusion. Our society is very sick and delusional.

They spend 4 years in the military changing gender on tax payers dime. Out of the whole 4 years they may be deployable for about 6 months and that ain't all at the same time. When I was in this stuff was not an issue! They were not allowed to join and neither were gays.\n\n Think about it everyone is so bent out of shape over sexual assault well if you take a couple of gay guys and put them in an infantry unit they are going to look at all those men the same way a straight guy would look at all the girls if he was dropped off in an all girls collage. While I mostly agree with the commander's comments, she couldn't be more wrong when she talks about Pete Hegseth's misconception of transgenderism. At that level of power and responsabilities it's either ignorance or malice. Both disqualify him from being a US official.
