This is so sad to watch. I'm an Aussie in Sydney who worked in Calgary for 10 years between 2004 and 2014. Watching your country deteriorate like this at the hands of your glorious leaders is gut wrenching. The spread of wasting humanity across North America as the legalisation of drug use (+ other socialist policies) is taking hold bends my mind. We also have unattainable house prices here for many, but we don't have the large scale social devastation (yet). Good luck in your journey - can't imagine how tough this is for you and your family. The problem is not the race is the culture. These people cannot adopt to the Canadian culture, the Canadian values and also they are not financially academically, emotionally, socially prepared to function in the society Canada.

Using Trump as a stepping stone, Progressives used COVID as a lever to force BLM politics on everyone, and it was a complete failure. The fact that Trudeau just won't step down because he believes he's morally superior than the 80% of the country that admits to disliking him just demonstrates how far they'll go to push what's best for us, whether we want it or not. \nThe entire federal Government is essentially in shambles and inoperable at this point. The only thing it accelerates at is covering up it's own crimes and creating propaganda.

I lived in Germany for 10 years.\n\nI think it's the best country to live in socially (education, health care, jobs). The bureaucracy you can handle it.\n\nI finished my Master's degree before the COVID19 started and it was SOOO difficult to get a job since after that they wanted only native German speakers (before with English was OK) - and I do speak really good German.\n\nBut then my friends started to have problem with racism and some people were not nice - and then all my friends left. I felt so alone.\n\nFurthermore, I met people who had a prosperous professional life but they were living alone in nice, big apartments. And old people were living all lone - I didn't want that and I took my decision to leave.\n\nBerlin and other German cities are amazing but it's only for a while. \n\nGermany is not for everybody - you need to know where are you going.

Canada is descending into the reality of socialism ... sad

As an international student, I'm studying in a uni of applied sciences, I have a German friend whom I am teaching English, because I'm fluent in English. There was a mandatory subject in our course regarding English. I know my friend, he cannot speak 2 sentences in English without making a single grammatical error, and he admits that. Still somehow the teacher gave him 80% in the English exam, and gave me 63% in the exam. I saw the grading, his grading was extremely lenient and mine was extremely harsh. Even my German friend said that he's surprised with the grading and thinks it's unfair. \n\nSo these are the reasons I don't wish to stay in Germany. If you want skilled immigrants to contribute to your social system and boost your economy, the least you could do is be nice to us.

I had the same issues as an expat in other countries and other expats who I talked to too. It's always the same.\n\nLanguage barrier:\nFor day to day activities it's less of a problem in bigger cities. For most jobs you simply need a higher level of a language for team work. If you're motivated I believe you can get to C1 in 6 months, with good learning techniques. That said you're probably not motivated. Learning a new language feels like hard work and you feel awkward speaking it.\n\nHard to meet friends:\nSame for all other countries. Create your own social circles or try sports, similar interests to get to know people. \n\nHow people treat you:\nIf you feel unwelcome, it's probably just all in your head because you're not accustomed to a different culture, so you feel like a foreigner. Got nothing to do with Germany, but with being an expat. \n\nRacism:\nProbably less of a problem in western Germany and bigger cities. Avoid east Germany. Also see previous point.

Hi! I'm an American with the 'dream' of immigrating to Canada for many years. Got permanent residency and am working in Montreal for the summer to try it out and.... really shocked about the high taxes vs. the quality of the roads for example :/ What social benefits are Canadians really getting? Although the pace of life and culture is nice, it is hard to make less money here as a teacher than I could be in the US, and with some bullsh*t to put up with (pardon my language). And although I feel safe here, I can't believe how car thefts are so brazen and common. I might just become a seasonal visitor after all.

Thanks so much for sharing this Alina! I can relate to what you're going through - I was born in the UK, moved to the US at 11 and then moved back to the UK at 24. I decided to leave the US because I began to realise that it's just not an ideal place to work and raise a family. The state I lived in (South Carolina) has a better quality of life than, say, California, New York, Oregon, Washington or New Jersey, but overall the US just doesn't do an adequate job of caring for its citizens, and the US government (especially those left of centre) has its priorities in the wrong place. The UK has its own problems no doubt, but overall the UK does a much better job of caring for its citizens than the US does. \n\nIt'll be more difficult for you than it was for me because you'll be going to an entirely new country where you have no family and no social network, but you're an intelligent and daring woman, you seem to be quite comfortable around new people, and you'll settle into wherever you end up very quickly. I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing how everything plays out!

This is going on in the US, too (and probably all over the developed world). We are a divided society. There has been a decline in trust of social institutions, which makes problem-solving more difficult.

I also didn't like the answer by the comissioner, because she told in a way that this is a responsibility by every country to take refugees. By this answer she provides the wrong signal to asylum seekers (that they can demand something from host countries) and also I don't think that it should be a respinsibility of the states, but their will. It should be win-win offer for both sides. But of course I think everybody would like to help to people in the trouble, but recources are not infinite everywhere also. And also there are a lot of imposters. That's why I don't like when governments provide too much social support for all. It should be, but limited. And motivate people to be independent.

The companies give false information to local municipality job centres so that they can get a subsidy of taxes and always on their company websites they put some jobs but in reality, they just interview and don't recruit and report to the government they are facing severe skill shortages and this companies are millions in Germany and they get tax waivers, economic support from government and to make the economy run government welcomes foreigners and innocent foreigners fell into prey in this cycle and got wanted there time.\nthey just pay like in India nothing difference, to and fro flight charges makes savings zero, can't enjoy social life, no good desi food, too much cold, costly transportation, very waste health system it will take months to get an appointment, heavy 42% taxes after all nothing is left for us...

Germany needs to be more welcoming of immigrants. The jobs required seem to be only tech ones. Students with MBAs and Masters in the social sciences find it extremely hard to find jobs.

Borders exist for a reason. It’s not fair to citizens of ANY country to dump hoards of unknown, unvetted people onto us and our cities AND expect us to support, educate, provide healthcare and pay for them. People from poor countries think westerners and Europeans are all rich. In our societies we work extremely hard and sacrifice our entire lives to have a good future and healthcare if we need it. We pay a lot of tax to have safe cities and towns. When you dump thousands and millions of people into our countries we all sacrifice even more and cannot access housing, healthcare or social programs because they are overwhelmed helping illegals. That is not fair to citizens of any nation. The real difference would be teaching poorer war torn countries how to build fair societies. How to build an economy. How to develop a democracy. How to root out government corruption. How to be tolerant of other religions. How to take care of your own citizens!!

Once you get the hurdle of the paper work and getting an apartment. It’s pretty amazing being in Germany especially when you find a good social circle and a couple of hobbies to indulge in but also maybe coz Berlin is easier!

It’s not about immigration, it’s about integration. Certain people take advantage of liberal democracies, live off social welfare, don’t t contribute and want separate laws for themselves. This is what the average European is against but the politicians and media are tone deaf. The consequences are there for all to see in the UK. Even Tommy Robinson for example welcomes Indian (legal) immigrants who assimilate and contribute.

I’m Dutch and I worked in Berlin in 2012/2013. I remember being really surprised by the bureaucracy and lack of digitization in government and services. For example I needed a tax number, from the tax office in the area within Berlin, where I lived. Meaning there were about 19 of these offices around Berlin, handing out tax numbers. If you moved within the city to a different region, you needed to get a new different tax number. Comparing this to the Netherlands at the time, we don’t even have this number, as it is directly linked to your Social security number. Also tax statements are prefilled by our government, you only need to check them on a digitally secured portal.

I can't believe all the nonsense that was said on this video! Of course you have to learn the language, if you want to work in Germany!!! Has any of you tried to immigrate to Canada or the US? Nobody is going to give you a job, unless you can communicate in the local language! That is the same all over the world! European union countries have all got good social services and health systems. You want to benefit from the system? Then you of course have to be able to communicate! \nThe process is the same everywhere you go. The first generation of immigrants fight to learn the language and integrate, BUT their kids will get that for free and be integrated through the school system.

Just goes to show that immigration is a problem. Skilled immigrants go away, with a direct loss on investment in education; unskilled immigrants remain and create social issues. So stop both and invest in local population.

People always seem to be surprised about why populations turn against immigrants. Small numbers of immigrants that assimilate into your culture that don't require a lot of social services can be absorbed into the social fabric of a town, city, or country. Massive influx of foreigners don't speak your language and require years of social benefits that they don't pay in to, rapidly turn the existing population hostile. Morality has nothing to do with it. There is a reason Sun Tsu had an entire chapter in the Art of War about using refugees to overburden your enemy and destroy him afterwards.

Came to Germany from India few months ago (for 'EU Values'). Working in IT and yes, it can be difficult without Deutsch Language. But I feel welcomed and safe here. The situation in India is horrific. The majority of Privileged Indians and the Global Indian Diaspora are also complicit and guilty in the Crimes Against Humanity by the Indian Fascist Regime and its Social and Official Collaborators. Germany and EU should stop (indirectly) supporting Indian Government's crimes.

Germany is a scam. The state will steal at least 60% of your hardly earned money under the funny names of taxation, social security, unemployement insurance etc. People will hardly accept you into their closed social circles. Ahh also do not forget the 17th century buerocracy of the state.

One wonders if organizations, such as the WEF, and multinational corporations are not deliberately creating social chaos in industrialized nations, so that these corporations can increase their profits by paying lower wages to desperate workers.

Most of the people I found that promote immigration are not the ones that really do anything to provide more infrastructure, they are the one that you can really do with out, some academics in the social sciences, career politicians, mostly pen-pushers. In the 1970s and 1980s, many who fled to Europe were doing so for genuine political reasons. They were escaping oppressive regimes, whether Islamic or dictatorial, often because their beliefs as non-Muslims, socialists, or leftists put them in danger.\n\nHowever, since the 2000s, the motivations for migration have shifted. Today, many people from the region come to Europe not primarily in search of safety or to embrace a European way of life, but rather to take advantage of the social benefits that European countries offer. Unfortunately, many of these individuals support the same Islamic regimes or ideologies that people fled from in the past.\n\nIntegration into European society is often challenging, particularly when there is little incentive to learn the local language or culture. For some, the focus is on increasing family size to maximize the financial benefits provided by the state. This explains why it's common to see families with six to nine children in these communities. The goal for many is not to seek safety or assimilate into European society, but to live comfortably on the benefits available in countries like Germany and Sweden.\n\nTo address this issue, I believe Europe needs to reconsider its approach to handling migration. One potential solution could be to build safe cities in North Africa, where people can find refuge and work without necessarily relocating to Europe. This would provide a secure environment and opportunities for those in need, without overburdening European countries. The focus should be on creating conditions where people migrate for genuine safety and the chance to contribute to society, rather than primarily for the financial benefits.\n\nIf people are allowed to choose where they want to live, they will naturally demand the best possible conditions and benefits. However, if authorities take the lead in deciding where migrants should be relocated, it would likely reduce the risks associated with illegal immigration. By guiding people to safe and sustainable locations rather than letting them dictate their destination, we could decrease the incentives for dangerous and unauthorized migration routes.
