The United States has elected a president who is turning its longest-standing allies into adversaries. This isn't just about Canada. The entire Western world is watching. While the U.S. has the power to harm its allies, those allies also have the ability to push back, and the USA is rapidly losing friends who may not return. As America’s alliances weaken, so do the obstacles its rivals face. \n\nTake Australia, for example. Should it continue aligning with the U.S. in the Asia-Pacific region? Should it continue hosting critical American surveillance infrastructure? Should it keep supporting and supplying the U.S. fleet? The USA enjoys a trade surplus with us, but do we need to spend USD$50 billion over the next decade buying your hardware? The Europeans seem to be a more trustworthy ally, who don't make us a target.\n\nThe USA would argue that their presence ensures security, but the reality is that countries like Australia only face threats because they are tied to U.S. strategic interests. Perhaps a more pragmatic approach that avoids unnecessary antagonism with China would serve us better. \n\nAs for Canada, it will adapt and find new trading partners, just as Australia did when China attempted economic coercion. And through it all, Canada, know that Australia will stand with you—always.

Trudeau is a clown. This is a guy who thwarts free speech and jailed his own people and took their money away during peaceful protests. Canada has enjoyed a a trade surplus against us forever. They also do not have to pay for military since they are right next to us. They should be doing whatever we want. Canada was sending recyclable trash to the Philippines. When the trash arrived it was not recyclable. Philippine president said stop sending but Canada continued to send it. So finally he said if you send one more ship, we will declare no war on you. And if that happened, without US help, even the Philippines would destroy Canada in a war. Way more fighting aged males and Canada has a worthless military. Canada has a GDP of 5-10% of US. So Trudeau acting tough is hilarious. Like a chihuahua barking at a grisly bear. If push came to shove, in the time of US war need, the US would simply take whatever it wanted from Canada. That's what happens when you don't develop your own substantial military-just like Europe now.

You lost me as soon as you mentioned OUR Liberal narrative Putin, after that you just sound like a typical liberal crybaby. I feel for you all, i do, but we had tariffs before and its fine to have yhem again, the market will correct and we will manufacture our own goods and energy. I As an American citizen can only hope that we would have a president in office with the intelligence, compassion and dignity that PM Trudeau has. At this time I am truly ashamed of my country. Especially the ones that put this hateful, revenge seeking, criminal monster in our White House. I stand with you 100% Canada. I also hope that maybe within the next year, trump will be gone. I don't know how or where but just gone. As intelligent as prime minister Trudeau is I have to disagree with one comment he made. trump is NOT a smart man. I have never felt more proud to be a Canadian, it’s a good feeling, I was almost brought to tears earlier thinking about it. And it’s interesting to note that it is overriding the fear of the consequences of Donald’s actions. Here’s where I can’t help but think of you, our fellow North Americans. The good people of the USA, I hold you in my heart. For you don’t have that boost that comes from feeling proud of your country. I can’t say I’ve ever known what that is like. It seems it would leave you gutted, and lost. Can you even describe the feeling, the experience? It has to be one of those things that you can’t know until you experience it. The pride in my country is keeping me going. My heart is crushed thinking that you do not have that. But you need to do everything you can to keep it. It’s what the Donald and his cronies are counting on. Unfortunately, he does not care about you. He wants to crush you. He does not care about America and what it stands for. He only cares about himself. If you do not have the fight that comes from being proud of your country, you guys are gonna be easy pickings. Do everything you can to find pride in your country. We need you to fight. We need you at our side. We are with you. We will always be with you.

Yall are sheep. \nEvery country needs imports. But America relies on so many other countries to keep itself going is more than unhealthy. If China and the US went to war, yes, China would suffer. But look around your house, I bet most of it says - Made In China. The thing is would you rather side with a madman who knows a madman who both just happen to have world connections that dropped the US dollar and have resources or die to a madman who has these nuclear resources just like we do? I rather double it and give it to the next person. ?

I’m an Indigenous American here, I say if Canada was really our friend then they would understand that they have been taking advantage of our countries kindness for too long and it’s time they step up.. Talking about a REAL (world) Leader! My personal message to Mr. Trudeau... 'Why you leave at this critical stage?' I guess USA citizens and Trudeau simply aren't getting it, Trump wants these tariffs because he WANTS to tax the heck out of the ordinary US citizen in order to pay for his tax cuts for his Billionaire friends.....Canada could have COMPLETELY stopped Fentanyl trafficking and Trump STILL would have invoked tariffs.....just like no matter what Zelenskyy could do, he was determined to make an EXCUSE to stop supporting Ukraine's war efforts.......in addition, if you didn't know better, it appears that Trump wants to team up with Russia......??????

As an American who not unlike more than half of this country believe this president and his administration are going down a very dangerous path. It feels like a runaway train, why can't we stop it, why can't we remove him, the impending damage that is about to take place seems obvious. This is a democracy but what do you do if the person who was voted in isn't qualified and is hurting not only our people but people around the world? Can you recall a president? What would it take?

If Trump was a Russian asset, this is exactly what they would want him to do. Destroying NATO, dismantling the US government, taking our defensive capabilities like Cyber team stop focusing on Russia, and finally cratering the US economy is EXACTLY what Russia wants. Trump just made 2 announcements:\n\n1. He’s cutting off military aid to Ukraine, which has large deposits of rare earth minerals, basically handing it off to Putin on a silver platter.\n\n2. TSMC, a Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturing company is investing $200 billion dollars in the US and he’s taking credit for the creation of jobs this will generate.\n\nWhat do you need to make semiconductors? Rare earth minerals! Anyone smart enough to put two and two together would know that Trump, Musk and Putin are in cahoots to take Ukraine’s minerals and the meeting with Zelensky in the Oval Office in front of cameras was just to corner him and make him look like an ungrateful dictator so Americans would rally against him and justify cutting off military aid.\n\nThe Republicans in congress are set to make a pretty good fortune by playing defense. Enough money to not give a d@mn about reelection. It’s all corruption. Turning our backs on our allies and cozying up with dictators just so Trump, Musk and their buddies can add more billions to their bank accounts!

To the Americans who are outraged by Trump, you need to stand up and truly fight like the MAGAts did when they stormed the capital on Jan 6th. If you really have a problem with whats going on you need to take a stand and make a difference. If you just sit back then you are allowing it to go on. I would assume the increased legal consequences would skew the new illegal border crossings from migrants looking for work so they can raise their kids in a country with more economic oppurtunities to a higher percentage of criminals mixed in.
