The wealth of our nation was built with our farms, mines, forests, etc. Trades people and farmers built this country. Too many people want to sit on their ass in front of a computer instead of getting busy. For those immigrants who can't make a living in Canada, it is time to go home. Some who have the skills and attitude will do well. Other won't. We need successful people, not another user of the food banks. The author of this video, seems to have had enough money to travel to 50 countries! How many countries allow you to earn enough to have kind of opportunity. Why don't you stay on the farm?

I am a double hater cant stand Trump and I am a farmer, i dont use immigrants because i just grow crops that can be mechanically harvested and I have a small farm, But in the past I used to manage large farms where we had a lot of immigrants most were illegal and people don't understand why they're illegal It's because there is an arbitrary cap on how many migrants can come from Guatemala and Mexico if they wanted to come legally just a normal worker They have a 60-year waiting list so it's just impossible to come here legally. Most of these people are very hardworking good people that come here to work for 5 to 7 years save up money and then go back to Mexico or Guatemala build a house and start a business in their own country. \n\nThis year i begrudgingly voted for trump because for me the biggest issue is with the federal and state regulations that make farming much harder than it needs to be especially regulations on diesel engine emissions that cost me tens of thousands of dollars a year and many months of not being able to use my equipment that I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on. And Kamala was the one who enforced the CARB emmisions standards that diesel engine manufactures have to comply with to sell into California which is the biggest consumer of these engines. \n\nLike right now I have my pickup truck that's been down for 6 months because of emissions problems and so many of the vehicles have emissions problems that the parts to fix it don't even have an ETA because they need to fix so many trucks and I have two other tractors broke down that I can't use all my friends that are farmers have a lot more and dems want to significantly increase emmisions standards in 2026. \n\nYou simply can't grow food at scale without reliable diesel engines There is no alternative The vast majority of food is planted and harvested mechanically in the US The bigger issue with food is not well illegals get deported It is will the diesel engines run to harvest 90% of the calories in plant them. \n\nWe have robots that can milk the cows most of the things that migrants harvest can be harvested mechanically and they are in other parts of the world It's just cheaper to do it with labor once that's not the case it will be mechanized. I would prefer to keep migrants here but give them legal working status if they have productive jobs and they pay tax.

Remain in Mexico applies to arriving aliens applying for asylum, not asylum seekers who have already been admitted. The latter contravenes federal immigration law, and that's something that a President can't do via executive order. As well, if we deport asylum seekers to a different country, or make asylum seekers wait in another country as their asylum cases are adjudicated, the US government is STILL responsible for providing essential resources and ensuring their safety (this includes providing migrant centers) and the US cannot impede on their right to counsel - and by virtue of making them stay in another country that doesn't HAVE US immigration attorneys, this DOES impede their access to legal council, which is an immediate infringement on civil rights and a key reason why Remain in Mexico was challenged up to the Supreme Court and was kept from fully going into effect.

I am sick to death of media cherry picking facts they want to share. Oh poor immigrants. So those disbled , elderly, veterans and drug addicted people who are being displaced are being forced to smaller communities that don't have the infrastructure in place to cope with so many displaced people. Then you end up with a huge issue of Homeless people trying to live in Tents in the middle of winter. j You have a vast number of elderly women taking to van life because they can't afford to live any other way. Would you like to your Grandma living in Van, constantly on the go? YOu are being UNAmerican in your news reporting, when you fail to give fair reporting and do equal amount of investigating into who this actually affects amount the American people. Far as I am concerned you need to be shut down, because you are enemy of the US.

This isn't just a white or black thing it's an out of control immigration system where people use loopholes in the system to gain residency. This anti-immigration isn't isolated in fact most immigrants who's lived in Canada all their lives have expressed deep concern that the government is letting in too many from one nation and the lopsided admittance is part of the concern. The metrics of the majority of new immigrants come from the Middle East and India how can anyone not notice the concern that many have been expressing for a decade. Many have concerns that many of the new comers can't even speak English yet they have license to drive and how do we get around most bend the rules or the law. Myself I've notice a skyrocketing scam scheme and how can you not equate that to the rise in our broken immigration policy. The last time I heard you had to have certain criteria to be considered to immigrate and why is that some countries like from the South Pacific you need to know English have money in the bank and a skill or degree on a list of acceptable qualifications. So many who can't even read or write English have jobs, drive a car, then to make matters worse have housing yet we have a crisis? Most Canadians see the pattern and most are educated enough to know there is something to be said, loopholes and when they find it they abuse the system.

Why can't the Canadian government commit to a fair trade agreement with China? The current trade deficit with China exists largely because our Canadian govt and business leaders have supported Chinese imports into our market. This isn’t China’s fault—it's a consequence of decisions made by our own Canadian politicians and business leaders. Now, with increased tariffs on Chinese-made EVs in favor of American-made brands like Tesla, China is responding by reducing its imports of Canadian canola. Why we need to favour american company to chinese company which by the way provide better technology with less price tags. Who bears the brunt of this? Diversity wasn't our strength, Canadian values were. Don't ever let anyone tell you canada doesn't have culture. We had a bright culture of men bejng men, woman being woman, kindness, kindness to your fellow neighbour's, pride our national game of hocker. Love of winter and al things nature related. Why do governments always see things 'in hindsight?' Regular everyday, working Americans and Canadians saw it YEARS AGO that this would happen. You can't let the floodgates open to anyone who wants to go to America, Canada, European Countries, without a PLAN in place to address it. There have to be limits, there has to be a PLAN!!!!! This is ridiculous. The majority of the homeless are homeless because they don't want to work the jobs. As a greenhouse manager, the local people don't want to work the jobs that the foreign workers work which is why we are required to bring them in in the first place. I have had many local workers try working in the greenhouse only to quit within weeks because they couldn't handle the work or even the heat that is required. So how are we supposed to depend on local people to do the work? The would be a worker turnover every 3 - 6 weeks. With this program we can bring in people who WANT to do the work because its a better opportunity for them than what they have back home. This is NOT the way to fix the homeless problem. High rent, high taxes and high economic standards are the cause of eat. People cant AFFORD to buy food, pay for living costs and even survive in todays society. This foreign worker programs ALLOWS us to get the work done. \n\nForeign workers brought in on the SAWP program or even low skill program aren't stealing job, they are doing the work that Canadians don't WANT to do as they can't handle it or even believe it's beneath them. Todays youth will never do the work that these people do for us. I respect the work that they do. I would love ANYBODY in the comments below to come to my farm in the middle of summer and spend 8 - 10 hours under the sun for a week and then see what their opinion is.

Many of my friends who studied Masters here in Germany are struggling to find a job and yet they say we need skilled workers. Local Canadian-born students cannot find jobs right now, so why do we have to bring in so many new workers from outside? It's the same as having 5 people fit into a small compact car (the car is full), and then you try to cram in an additional 10 more people to fit into that small car; you can't, the car is full! The job market is full of people looking for work, don't try to cram in more job applicants into the country!

WOW! Sorry Cash but American are VERY undereducated about Canada. This has been going on for years on the boarder. It just up - ticked in the last couple. One of the problems here is we have ZERO vacancy rates , which makes it worse ...we have nowhere to put them, Then there's our foreign student problem which is very complicated and involve CON MEN in India , who have contacts/ family here and work the system. Up to and including helping them get drivers permits...illegally. There's all sorts of loop holes , how we found out about the drivers permits, why traffic accidents became more frequent of course. Then there's the fake colleges they set up and yeah the student gets a minimum wage job and lives in a house stacked with ppl in the same boat as them. Then find out they being rooked and stay with no education or if they do get a legit school they can't stay here and become a citizen because they can't find work in the higher professions ( doctor ) because the system is screwed then they move back home with a good education and leave us with gaps in our medical system. It's complicated and won't be solved anytime soon on either side.

I live in Quebec and love winter, but I do sometimes dream of living somewhere like Hawaii or California where I could eat ripe avocados and grow so much food all year round. I could build a tiny home (less regulations - so much red tape here - and cheaper bc less need of insulation and heating) and go swimming every day. This is pretty idealistic though, and could probably do these things in non-american countries. Would I consider moving to the United States? Sure I would consider it. Would I though? Probably not. Why? Similar reasons to many folks in this country:\n- lack of women's rights (still growth to do here too)\n- lgbtqia+ discrimination (here as well, but definitely to a lesser extent)\n- racism (we have this here too though... just maybe less nazis?)\n- guns (this terrifies me... anyone I know who has a gun here has it only for hunting and it's locked up in a gun case, which I think is required, when not in use)\n- healthcare (though I'm not in love with our system... I'm currently on a huge waiting list for an mri, the waiting lists to get a doctor are obscene, and can't access dental or mental health support... some of our hospitals are in such poor shape...)\n- politics and MAGA (terrifying that so many people think like that... though our political parties are pretty fucked up too... just not to the same extent)\n- school systems that teach kids the world is as old as the Bible says\n- police and prison industrial complex (seems less personal and terrifying from the outside)

Hi Febby, stumbled upon your video and wanted to know your experience in Canada. As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. Really chicken and egg problem like you mentioned. And this issue can't readily be fixed with the way Canadian government operates. Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Immigration is doing more harm then good and I hate throwing them to the wolves, but I cannot STAND the look on my mom's face because we cannot afford a permanent home. We are a nuclear 4 person family and doing OUR BEST, it's insane we built our lives here, I was fucking born here, and we've gotten our rent raised higher then homes costed a decade ago. \nWhen all this population growth imposes on MY quality of life, bet your fucking ass I'm bitter. I wouldn't have as many qualms if we could house Canadians AND immigrants but it's evident we can't!\nAnd!!!!! I am so glad that this is getting talked about now. I have to pay for school this September and I still don't have a job. I have been applying to places for over a year at this point and I have heard absolutely nothing from any of them. I always suspect its because companies would rather pay 50% of a full salary to an immigrant as opposed to a full salary for a Canadian citizen, and to be fair, I don't blame them. If I didn't wanna lose money, I'd do it too, which is why its a completely ridiculous way to operate things! Once I get older, I'm getting out of Canada. Most of the people commenting on Canada can't even imagine the quality of life. Even if you're Ambani, you'll still have to deal with pollution and dirt all over the place. Due to the influx of immigrants and recently poor governance of the country, it has slumped. Drugs and homelessness has increased but I've been settled here since the past two years and have had a considerable amount of work life balance and financial stability compared to back home. I did work for close to a decade in India yet could not accomplish what I did in 2 years here. Every country has it's pro's and cons and when it comes to healthcare yes it is sad but will be improved over time. If India was so great why are we taxed beyond question and not allowed to enjoy proper infrastructure and employment opportunities. Canadians are tired of our protests and whining for PR. People with no skills back home, can't land a job anywhere else. Period.

What's one of the main reasons why a foreign country would invite foreign workers into their country to work?? Because there are native citizens of that particular nation that don't want to work, they are lazy.. I understand the issue about overpopulation, but on the other hand, the opportunities have always been there for the natives to take advantage of, but did they?? So the government had to come up with a system to fill those vacancies, and in some cases, another reason why natives can't get a job, is because they are not qualified.. I think if an immigrant should be there with the aim to create a better life, I'm sure it can be achieved with hardwork and sacrifices, because a lot of us want to live above our means/ budget, spending more than we earn, instead of saving towards accomplishing a specific goal.. And i think a lot of people go with this false belief that that particular country is paradise, so they think as they land, their lives would be changed instantly, not knowing that they have to work very hard and make sacrifices to achieve their goals, and that's the main issue, they go without having any aims or goals, they go with the wrong mindset and attitude, and the list goes on.. And these students that are protesting, they should be trying to make a difference in the country to demonstrate to the government and the natives there that they are worthy to be a part of the nation, because they are not taking from it, but rather adding more values to it.. I think it all depends on the mindset.. And of course, i do agree that an immigrant should assimilate..

Honestly, the cost of living is high everywhere.. There is no government of any nation that really cares for the people.. I live in Jamaica, and if you don't have links, survival in this country is almost impossible, and if you should get a job, if you don't discipline yourself to live within your means/ budget, you will only find yourself in debts.. Each nation's economy will get worse.. That's why our only hope is the Lord Jesus Christ.. I understand that they are people who don't know this name and there are some that are aware of it but hate it, but the truth is, eventually we will all figure out one by one that we can't trust man, only God Almighty.. And even with the Lord on our side, we will still face difficulties, but he will always come to our rescue, we just need to trust him.. PLEASE DON'T push Pierre on immigration! I don't have proof but I'm sure it's just his strategy. I can't believe that a smart conservative like him isn't in favor of cutting back on immigration. He may (and has) even said some pro immigration things but I'm sure this is only to get as many Canadians as possible to vote for him so he gets the most powerful majority in the house. The larger the majority the easier to pass his conservative laws.\n\nIf we push him too early to say what we want to hear it may adversely affect the quality of the Conservative win we get. Why? Because a lot of Canadians think anti immigration is synonymous with fascism and they'll go back to voting Liberal just to calm their nerves.\n\nLook at how Bernier's PPCs can say what you want to hear on immigration but as a result have less of a chance of becoming a majority PM than the dreaded Singh. Bernier is too honest to be a politician and unwittingly ends up giving Trudy exactly what he wants by splitting the actual party with the realistic chance to end his tyranny, the Conservative Party.\n\nDon't do the Liberal Media's job for them. Pierre can dodge their immigration questions because they're Liberal. But if we conservatives push too hard, too early on this, we'll shoot ourselves in the foot as Pierre may be tempted to be honest with conservative leaning media like Rebel News. After he wins we can push him, but don't do the CBC's job for them. You'll be throwing them a big bone to start comparing him to the so-called evil orange man from down south.

It wasn't like this 8 years ago and there's so many people of a certain demographic that outnumbers the others. Now, it's really hard to find a part-time job as student and our healthcare system is plummeting as well. Why we keep accepting them when we can't even afford to help our own citizens? This current government needs to step-down now; we don't speak for them. The fact that these people are able to rally in our country is absurd and they don't even have the rights in our country. This shows how weak the Canadian law is. They don't respect us and they mock our system.

There IS NOT a lack of housing in canada , there IS ONLY an affordability problem along with far too much immigration by volume and time frame . Our services and infrastructure (ie; transit services , health care , employment , realisticly affordable housing , finances , etc .) are no where near adequate to accomodate canadians even before the over populating of foreigners . They have been coming here and buying up all the affordable housing during , and post pandemic , with offers far above listed or fair market values , to push owners to sell without question or thought . Following this they stack multiples into these homes illegally and against code , to be able to take up all employment at wages that canadians can't survive on ,forcing them out of employment , homes or both . Once stable and trained to know that business operation , one of their people buy the business and no longer hire any canadians . YES ! TRUE FACT!! How is this accepted ? This is something we could never get away with anywhere .... Selling your country , one property at a time , is only absolute lunacy . They pay top dollar and care nothing about the money , because being that they own most of the businesses , they will get it all back from you within about a years time by raising prices ultimately to do so . Why we have been so run into a crisis within a silent war , is far of that beyond me as we should b lead by our suposed intelligence . There is only right now to react , and correct on this !! We want our home back as it was !!! Oh , and a leader is defined by one who leads , not one who experiments at the expense of our lives !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i grew up in Brampton 20 years ago, a child of Caribbean parents. Whenever I go back I can say Yes, Brampton has changed over the years. I also remember that white/Canadian people were always the population struggling with substance abuse- particularly in the downtown area. Conflating the influx of indians with the downturn of white canadians seems to just fuel animosity and scape goat the issue onto a population of people that's probably just trying to seek a better life. why not ask the government to provide better social programs for those in need rather than fueling hate ? Why not investigate the structural issues that have contributed to this situation i.e. politicians gaining votes by doing xyz, or look into what people may be facing in the homelands? That would be a better piece of journalism imo. I think this video is highlighting this issue in ways history has seen before... can't we do better?

What's going on with this world. We have to forgive, yes it's a tragedy and only God can judge this man and it says in the Bible that we need to Forgive, if you can't forgive then that's a very wrong way to be. I know No one can understand all your loss but in life that's how life is, accidents happen. This man has a child and a wife and family. He accepted Canada as his second home why take that from him. This is a sad case. I say let him live in Canada and look after his child and family.

Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

As a Canadian I'm pretty sure this is inaccurate. We had a huge Scottish population. Are you hiding them under 'UK or America'?\nWe also definitely had more Irish then Russians. Nice try. And you didn't mention any 'Canadian' born.\n\nThe Indians and the Guyana's started coming to Canada enmass after being kicked out of Ghana and Guyana for financial and business crimes. Shame we got stuck with the corruption.\n\nIndia and China have most of the worlds jobs back home in their countries. Their economies are also bigger then Canada. Why on earth are they coming here. They're not going to find work when 1 in 3 of us have no jobs. If they can't find work in the country with all the work they must be worthless.\n\nWhat good is a country of just wealthy people when none of them create businesses to pay to keep the population alive? I'm Canadian and I don't recommend coming here. I wish I stayed in Taiwan. Also, were you rejected by the US? Many people end up here if they don't get into the US. We don't have the housing, healthcare and education etc to support more immigrants. It can also be really hard in the US if you don't have a higher income and health insurance. If you have the latter, you're ok. I have retired American friends in MI with decent income and health insurance and their health care experience is good. But no health insurance in the US isn't good. Canada's public health care has long been dying. I don't know why we're taking more people in when our systems can't deal with it to begin with.

Listen as a minority person who is proud of my heritage but grew up here with immigrant parents who were given refuge in Canada, I can understand immigration. But...its getting out of hand, most of them are from India, most of them have homes in India and often return there for long vacations, These are not refugees or a diverse spread of peoples coming here. I am not hateful in any way but sometimes you have to tell it like it is, A lot of these people are not adapting to the culture here, why? Because most of them are grown already and are used to their own customs, with an ever increasing population now living here they don't really feel the need to learn or adapt because there are less regular Canadians. When I was in school it was already pretty multi-cultural and diverse although yes in my area there are less asians and black people, we had a lot of European(Serbian/Romanian) in particular. Now I go to the store and it's like 80% brown/Indian people lol, even my neighbors, most have moved out and more indian families are moving in. My city is expanding into like a mini Toronto when we can't even handle it, people cant even find jobs, people need all this other stuff, Its just too many all at once, crime rates have gone up over the last few years, this doesn't help anyone, immigrants either.

I think it's funny that Canada has a shortage of family doctors (GPs), when here in Ireland almost all (non-international) medical students become GPs. It's where you have the best work-life balance and make the more money per hour here. 9-5 hours, only on call at night a couple times per month and a great salary and eventually your own practice. I can't understand why a doctor would prefer any other branch of medicine. It's all other fields we are short on doctors and have non europeans to fill the gap.

I came here as an international student, back then you could only get your PR if you studied at an accredited university, not a career college. Back then skilled workers were required, and that is how you were able to get a PR. Canada has changed so much, multicultural has left and more and more there are two cultures dominating. I came here because I use to visit for our annual holidays then decide I liked the culture and wanted to study here. The landscape has shifted , Canadians will soon be the minority and that is not the Canada I want to be paying taxes in. \nThere are always protesters waving foreign flags demanding that the government help their families, love ones in another country, meanwhile Canadians here are loosing their homes , can't afford food, basic life necessities and living in tents. Charity should start at home first.\nResponsible tax payers cannot afford to have kids, why because the taxes we pay are too high, if we're struggling to survive why would we subject a child into this world to experience the same. However, there are millions of dollars in incentives for people who never paid in to come to Canada with their extended family members who are dependent on government support, that we the taxpayers have to finance. The aging population could be address if the affordability could be address for citizens living here and PAYING taxes. If the government wants to bring in aging populations who never worked in Canada, their families should be funding their living here including healthcare, not taxpayers. Invest in your people first , help Canadians become more skilled to fill positions that there are shortages, lower taxes to allow Canadians to have said families and replenish the population , these are the people who would always put Canada first.

If these people have no where to live, and can't find jobs to match their skills, why are they allowed to immigrate in the first place? People who already live here can't find jobs or housing. Should we be emigrating to accomodate immigrants? Canada used to be it's own country, and a beautiful place to live and it has gone down the drain. It's disgraceful.

I'm an immigrant and my immigrant friends and I were talking about exactly this just the other day. I'd like to add some context on why so few international students stay: they can't. Schools prey on this very fact. In international recruiting, these schools use the promise of thriving local industries and trot out graduates working locally as major draws to these expensive programs. Then once students are in Canada, many of these schools couldn't care less: they offer little or sometimes no housing support, no immigration advice (or in my case and many of my friends' cases: they give straight-up false immigration advice that can screw you over or even get you in trouble). There absolutely needs to be regulation and accountability for these predatory schools; I think a good starting point would be capping the number of visas they can apply for based on the number of housing units available (either on-campus or via local development subsidy and homestays). Tons of students come to Canada completely unprepared due to false promises made by these schools, and then get spit out into an egregiously inefficient and broken work visa system.\nMy immigrant friends and I are all highly skilled in our specific field. There are only a handful of people in the world (let alone in Canada) who can do what I do at the level I do it, so I would be incredibly difficult to replace if I left Canada. Despite that, and despite being Canadian-educated (Canadian resources invested in me that you'd want to keep in Canada), remaining in Canada has been a massive struggle for me and my friends. We individually spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars every year to apply for permits that have to be renewed annually, but take the government 6+ months to process. Because the government is so backed up, we have to apply for *extra* permits to bridge that gap (more money, and more work added to IRCC's already-long line of applications). I'm in limbo for the majority of the year where I can't switch employers, can't leave the country, etc. It's horrible. \nBut I have it better than most. Of the international students in my year, only I and one other student are still in Canada because the transition to work permits is so needlessly long and difficult. Even a graduate who does manage to get a work permit might have to sit unemployed for 6 months or more before that permit is active. How is a student supposed to survive without work for that long? In order for employers to even apply to sponsor a graduate, they often have to do a lengthy labor market impact assessment, and so these graduates are stuck in a holding pattern, and they're the lucky ones. Immigration is absolutely vital to Canada and I hate how quickly these stories turn to xenophobic rhetoric, but we have to make space in the conversation to take a look at how schools are exploiting students and policy loopholes, and why they're doing it, and address those problems. The current system isn't fair to anyone.

I'm SO fed up with how these stories are framed.\n\nStep one: Say the students are the victim. Talk about all the good they do. How productive they are. How much money they bring. Say don't blame the students.\n\nNO ONE IS BLAMING THE STUDENTS!!!\n\nStep two: Make the reason we have to slow down study permits is because we can't provide for the students. We can't house them. \n\nWHY IS THAT OUR RESPONSIBILITY? Why do we have to provide for them? They aren't citizens. They aren't permanent residents. Them coming here is a PRIVELIGE. \n\n\nWhy can't the answer just be that we have to lower numbers because life is totally unaffordable for Canadians/PRs. As if that alone isn't a good enough reason. As if we should just accept lower standards of living because we have to take care of international students.\n\nSo sick of these narratives.

Even though gibril did the same thing ,denied the prophet before him !!!  do you see how emotionally involved they are they can't see it ?? \n\n1,John 4 \n Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. \n\nDid  Mohamed and Joseph test the spirits?? \nAnd the only way to test a spirit is make sure he is consistent with the gospels and prophets before them, Christians have a reason not to believe jibril of the quran and Angel Moroni ,what reason to Muslims have not to believe in Joseph smith,  and Angel spoke and they don't test them ,so tbey should be Mormons?\n\n     GOD BLESS, jesus is Lord , pray stay calm and ask God to open your heart if what I'm saying is true so you can see it .\nIf you are wrong and Jesus is Son of God at least on the day of judgment you can say in your defence ,I asked you for a sign and never got it ,its a good plan to cover yourself .. \n\nMuslims ask yourselves honestly, what's more reasonable to assume,  that God fooled his disciples and millions of people, by switching Jesus on the cross, \n\nor Mohamed  like Joseph Smith , failed to test the spirit to see if it was from God , or Satan ???

I just stumbled upon you guy's channel by accident, because we are looking to move out of our country as well and Canada was actually a possible option. (not likely now) \n\nI am not muslim, I am just a regular western white girl, with priveleges I never knew I had until a few years ago, and looking at the world with increasing disgust and sadness. \nI completely understand why you'd want to move away from there, and even though I am not muslim, some of the points mentioned here are also reasons we want to leave where we are now (Netherlands). \nSociety is falling apart, people pointing fingers, our government is a ****show and puts the entire world's needs before taking care of our own problems. I don't feel safe and welcome anymore in the country that I once called home. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you two, raising kids, in the world how it is today, where people are using Islam in ways it was not intended and how it has played out to put the western population to turn against an entire group of people that also ultimately like everyone else, want to live their life in peace and safety. \n\nI wish you both the very best, stick to what you think is right! Your children couldn't have asked for better parents :)
