Honestly the batshit crazy comment reflects the #1 concern most Canadians have with the United States. We have conservatives and religious types but they're all more or less respectful and they don't try to control Canadian society. In comparison, at least a fifth of Americans are borderline fascists, and none of us want anything to do with those types of people. Since Trump took office they've become a hundred times worse, as now they're even threatening annexation. Sorry if it's hard to accept, but America has a serious problem right now, even if you're a good person.

Trump is doing all these crazy things but he is forgetting one HUGE thing. Canada & many other countries are Allies of America & while he's talking about tariffs & goodness knows what (I did watch his talk in Congress), at least respect your Allies. Trump is sleeping with the enemy & in all my years, I've never seen an American President turn on their Allies like this. He is a dangerous man for all the wrong reasons. I feel badly for the American people whom will be stuck between a rock & a hard place. I feel for the Canadian's whom don't deserve this. Trudeau speaks so genuinely & politely where Trump yells 'this is the way things will be'. \nI don't look forward to the next 4 years & many in my country (Australia) have said they won't even go to America while Trump is in Office. If we had our own of anything we would have been using them! Thats why we buy these goods from these other countries! The American people as well as Canadian are not equipped financially to handle this right now. We literally are fighting to survive. Not the rich folks, they are fine. In light of rabid anti Americanism in Canada, President Trump would be wise to fortify and close the border as a defensive measure against invasion, infiltration, and sabotage. Canada has made it clear they’d rather spend a lot more to ship oil to China’s Communist Dictator Xi Jin Ping in Asia and back than pay a modest 10% tariff and send oil down an already working pipeline to next door America. Contrary to some mega ignorant comments, The U.S.A. is rich in natural resources and can be self sufficient. We just have to resume use of resources that were shut down by the appropriately initialed Barak Obama, Biden-Harris, and deep state bureaucrats in Washington. President Trump can accomplish this with our support. Shop carefully and please do not buy anything from Canada. Leave all Canadian goods to rot on the shelf. You won’t regret not making it to the Miss Hockey Puck festival in balmy Churchill Manitoba either. Other protective measures should be immediate cancellation of all visas and green cards held by Canadians and their deportation from U.S. territory.

Let's not forget that this the will of the American people. Donald Trump was voted into office. He is effectively an embodiment of the prevailing American consciousness. Let's imagine that the tariffs will actually be effective and three thousand companies from all over the world will come back. 3,000 companies will start producing, they need people. Where they pay American wages. These companies left because they could produce the product cheaper abroad and Americans could buy it cheaper. If all the companies come back, prices will increase by 30%. And 70 percent of the population will buy 30% more expensively. Inflation will run wild. Poverty will increase. What's the point of this??
