BS, I'm black, I've been living in Canada for about 11 years, and I never experience racism, cops never stop me, asking weird questions, I ride bike in rich Neighbors nobody calls the police after me, so this guy just take a random video from a back women, and saying Canada is racism I call BS again she is lying for real

Oh stop. This kind of video is the type of thing that makes “Caucasian’s” not like you. Quit your whining. Born and raised Edmontonian. I’m 52 years old and have never witnessed outright racism against blacks. Yesterday I went to see a doctor. I have fibromyalgia and can barely walk but I had to cause I don’t have a car atm. The waiting room was PACKED. I asked about seeing a doctor and was told “ he’s not seeing patients today”. I asked “what about all of these people”? She said “they’re all immigrants and he is seeing them”. I’ve lived here my entire life but I guess he wasn’t seeing Canadians. I find the black people that complain and cry racism haven’t done much with their life. I have friends that are VERY SUCCESSFUL black people and they never talk like this. You just wouldn’t not hear it out of their mouths. And they live in Edmonton . Hard working, decent people they are. I’m facing homelessness come July 1. Ain’t nobody coming to save me. Rent increase of $430 dollars will do that tho. Everyone is struggling to some degree. Instead of further dividing us, we should be coming together to come up with solutions to help each other. This kind of video does nothing but harm but continue I guess……

To me that is a hostel country trying to invade the USA, and should be treated as such. I would have gave the order to shoot. There Is a way to enter a country properly. At the point of entry and it is a peaceful and legal way in course to enter a country. In Ontario Canada the healthcare industry is heavily marred in black racism! My sister was a Director of Care at 3 different long term care facilities over the last 9 years. The racism she felt was so bad that the WS are willing to destroy the reputation of the long term care facility and their own careers just do they could oppress my sister. My sister beat them all as she left the long term care and is now a pediatric consultant while the last place she left is now in chaos. Every long term care job she had the WS were getting her to do all of their work to a point where they did not know how to recover when my sister eventually left. Every long term care facility paid the heavy price when my sister walked out. I could make a video on this issue it’s so wicked the racism. At least my sister beat them all she is so smart. ??

The thing is in the US the racism is a lie the racist are white, black and brown people they hate whites and use the white supremacy statement to gather support to inflict pain with their hate attack on their imaginary dragon. The income difference based on skin color is based on level of education and jobs chosen, NOT some skin color. This is why if you break down the income difference based on the countries of origin, black immigrants from countries with high education levels such as ones from Nigeria have a higher average income compared to the rest of the population, even though their skin is as dark as any black person. \n2. I suggest you visit Richmond BC, Surrey BC, or Vancouver Downtown, so many successful Asian and brown people there. In fact, white people are moving to suburbs since asian immigrants are buying up expensive realestate in big cities like Vancouver and Toronto. Still RaCiSM? \n3. Whites (especially white males) are the only group in Canada that can be openly discriminated against in hiring and school applications, as diversity quotas require a minimal number of women and non-whites to be chosen, over whites (and men)who may meet the criteria. Everyone needs to be treated equally, and solely based on their abilities and qualifications. \n\nAnyone with a half a brain can see that it is better to be a non-white person in Canada right now than other way around. As an Canadian I NEEEEEED TO SAY that one of Alberta's biggest problems, and a reason you may not want to live there, was not mentioned in this video. ALBERTA HAS A HUGE PROBLEM with racism, and sexism really. I'm not the one to speak on its nuances, but I can tell you based on my 6 month stay there, its not somewhere I want to live. I'm not even a person of colour, just female and it was horrid. I can't imagine being indigenous and female. I'm sorry for the people and especially women who would like to live in a different environment and can't seem to get out. Hope you find your rainbow.

The tests with the three friends, I'm not saying the racism it exposed doesn't exist, but I'm curious if attractiveness or character plays a factor in this as well (or even more). Getting different rental prices is outrages. Being stalked in a store is just weird, but a couple of checks I wouldn't mind. If nothing ever happens that will stop. Being asked if you can be helped should not be an issue. Although I admit it can be annoying (I rather shop without interference), but as long as they ask politely, being offended by it is your own problem. As for the hiring part is this video, I believe there might be even more discrimination based on age. I like the idea of blind hiring when possible. Being rated on skills is in the best interest of any party. \n\nAs a society we're making good progress on a lot of levels. There is still ground to gain, but let's also celebrate what has already been achieved in the last couple of generations. Social media makes it look like it's only bad, but don't forget that bad news sells better than good news. And all companies (also news companies) want to make money.

I went to Canada once and I didn't see any of that. Maybe my staying was too short, maybe this whole video is an exaggeration, maybe I didn't interact with regular Canadian people for too long, but the short time I had the opportunity to do so I didn't see any racism in Canadian people.

Did they all get sent into the same shoppers one after the other? And did the previous people buy anything? Also did the other men go down the baby isle? What if they have a problem with people stealing baby formula. I mean... I'm not saying covert or systemic racism doesn't exist in Canada, but there are so many holes in this video. Also would be interesting to see what would happen if they were dressed up differently.

What are you talking about? In every scenario there was no racism until atleast the 3rd attempt. The biggest minority group in Canada is South Asians(Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans etc. ) , most spoken non English language is Chinese(including Cantonese, mandarin etc. ) . So, why aren't these Asian groups shouting about inequality and systematic racism, but a smaller group(African Americans) is? This all feels like politics power grab rather than actual a problem. But there's a systemic racism against Aboriginal people, that's a fact that the government apologized over and over again, and I don't hear much about it in this video.

Systemic racism is real, the demonstration of the gaslighting from leaders and population is in the number of dislikes on this video. It is higher than the actual likes. Check yourself first and see how much you have ingrained racism on your daily speech and attitude.

I think the big problem - which was mentioned in the video - is that there is an unfortunate history of systemic racism, and the problem now is that we are embarrassed by it and don't want to address it. I think this country is leaps and bounds better than our US cousins, but there is still work to do

Racism was far more prevalent in Canada decades ago. I remember hearing stories from my aunts and uncles about the types of things that would happen when they first arrived in the country. People would heckle and threaten visible minorities. \n\nBut I can say I have personally never experienced systemic racism in Canada. This country gave my family and I opportunity, safety and a just system. I was born and raised in Canada, and this is my home. There is no other country I would want to live in.\n\nLong live Canada and what it stands for. God bless this land.\n\n\nEdit: I forgot to add that the post secondary program I graduated from had a disproportionately high percentage of students belonging to visible minorities. This is the case with similar programs across Canada. One could argue Caucasian students are grossly underrepresented in this program. Does this not fit the definition of systemic racism stated in this video?

I see lots of videos like this and yes i agree that we have racism in Canada just like in every single other country around the world. I also notice that never once in one video have i seen one of these people mentioning the racism that is tough to children not just white children but all children as everyone knows racism is a tough behavior. As every single country has racism that means its a problem for all and for some reason the world only is worried about racism in white peoples instead of attacking this issue as a whole

I watched this video with the genuine intent to learn about systemic racism in Canada. Other than the example of people of colour not having marijuana sentences reduced, I do not feel we are offered any concrete examples. We are only given examples of (terrible) historical injustices, as well as talking heads claiming systemic racism exists without offering any examples we can actually learn about to move forward.

This video did a decent job of presenting some evidence regarding systemic racism in Canada. While we are better than the US in this aspect, we still have large room for improvement. However, I disagreed with the comments at the end regarding prime Minister Trudeau's knee. At the very least, that is a symbolic move showcasing his solidarity and empathy with oppressed individuals and his commitment for a better future. A mistake 20 years ago shouldn't devalue his 20 years of evolution and growth. Hopefully, the knee is accompanied by efforts aimed at police reforms and improved mental health support.

As a non-Canadian citizen, watching this video does not convince me that systemic racism in Canada is just as bad as in the United States

I am so glad this video aired. Personally, I had no idea Canada had these issues. Canada was always shown as a 'safe haven' from racism and from slavery. This is the place where run-a-way slaves escaped to. Although this is a tough subject and many both Black and White wish for this subject to come to a close, there is still so much education required on both sides that need this information. And more importantly, this video does highlight many success stories regardless of the racism and historical oppression that exists, even in modern times. Please do not loose sight of that important fact.

This is a great video it's hard being a person of colour in even today's world. There is a lot of passive aggressive racism in the form of discrimination on a big scale. The thing about race is you can't really talk to white people about racism because they don't really experience it. I would like to see a social experiment to where white people go into predominantly minority areas and see how they get treated.

By seeing that video I could tell the United-States of America has becomed a very disturbance and dangerous if you are foreigner born and you came to live in USA you will confront racism by some demented white people in America, anytime racism takes place the judiciary rulling has right to prosecute any individual who profiling this kind of behavior against humanity weather they are Blacks, Latinos... eventually African Americans and Latinos are being victims everyday in this country, so the judiciary system need to condemne any body very severly someone who hurt a civilians in the United-States soil even though he/she American Citizens or not because there are lot of tourists who come to visit USA. Wherever there are white people, there is racism. They even export their racism to African countries. Look for the Youtube video of Jimmy L Taylor racially abusing hotel staff in Uganda. White people will still look at this video and say that racism doesn't exist or try to make up some excuse for this behavior. I also love it when they say that white privilege does not exist.

What this video does is incredibly misinforming. It equates racial bias with racism/racial discrimination. These are completely different things. The IAT test is not even reliable. In addition, there is no support that bias translates into discriminatory behavior. I know it sounds appealing, as a hypothesis, but there is simply no support for it.

There is a lot of BS in this video. Stores like Best Buy will always have employees come up to you and ask if you need help ESPECIALLY if you linger. Then there are some facts. My brother worked at a Sprint Retail store and tells me that 100% of the people caught stealing were blacks. So the black community can thank other blacks for the discrimination. \n\nAlso, if you are dressed a certain way, don’t complain if you are followed. \n\nIs there racism? Hell, yes! I’ve been victim of that myself. But some of the things shown here was just stretching.
