Stop the illegals from crossing the northern American border and especially stop the Fentanyl coming across.

Why isn't Canada doing anything to stop illicit drugs in their Country. That's what this is about. Trump is America First and I won't apologize for that. \nTrudeau is talking like he has some kind of power over the U.S. Not very smart Canada will go broke if they don't comply with Trump's reques to shut down drug trafficking in Canada that comes across our border. \nFentanyl is still detected in an overwhelming majority of illicit drug deaths in Canada, according to PHAC, but the unpredictability and potency of other substances mixed in with the fentanyl are making the supply more dangerous. \nMexican cartels are operating fentanyl and nitazene synthesis labs in Canada. \nA recent study recognized Canada’s heightened domestic production of fentanyl, and its growing footprint within international narcotics distribution. \nCanada-based drug trafficking organizations maintain robust “super labs,” mostly in rural and dense areas in western Canada, some of which can produce 44 to 66 pounds of fentanyl weekly.

●Canada less than 1% fentanyl comes thru Canadian border. Canada doesn’t make any precursor drugs for fentanyl. Tariff 25%?\n\n●China -99.5% of precursor drugs needed to make fentanyl come from china. No regulations. Tariffs 10%??\n\nMost should know that the fentanyl coming thru Canada is less than 1% If your wondering where the other 99% is coming from,know this- china allows the sale of the precursor drugs needed to make fentanyl, and it's unregulated. They suppy the mexican cartels these drugs to make and sell which comes across Mexican borders into the US. If china regulated the precursor drugs it could stop fentanyl manufacturing in its tracks. Again 10% tariffs vs 25% tariff. There was a time that china cooperated & worked with the US on this but have since stopped.\nSo whatever is going on with the trump administration, it's clear by the numbers this isn't about fentanyl with Canada. Especially since he didn't extend the same tariffs to the country that could actually stop the making of this horrible drug.

As I have said many times, Trump has opened a big ass can of of worms, you wont stop Armorican drug addicts, there's legal drug labs in the U.S. and the U.S. make fentanyl in the U.S., his on a economic suicide missions, sense his first rodeo, most drugs dont go over a fence, most drugs caught, go through the Legal Ports of entry and most smuggler cought at the legal port of entry are Americans and people who can cross the border legally, not illegally, not illegal aliens nor asylum

I guess USA citizens and Trudeau simply aren't getting it, Trump wants these tariffs because he WANTS to tax the heck out of the ordinary US citizen in order to pay for his tax cuts for his Billionaire friends.....Canada could have COMPLETELY stopped Fentanyl trafficking and Trump STILL would have invoked tariffs.....just like no matter what Zelenskyy could do, he was determined to make an EXCUSE to stop supporting Ukraine's war efforts.......in addition, if you didn't know better, it appears that Trump wants to team up with Russia......??????

Why is it so difficult for the Canadian government to stop cooperating with the CCP and end all transaction and trade of fentanyl? Why does the Canadian people need to pay the price for the greed and stupidity of this irresponsible government? Which politician is benefiting from the fentanyl deal? When Canadian politicians are in bed long enough with the CCP, they will work for this communist regime and not for the Canadian people. Trump is certainly looking out for the American people, who is Trudeau looking out for?

Great speech. However Fentanyl must not “be wiped from the face of the Earth”. This opioid is needed to control pain in the dying and patients living with severe chronic pain. Stop the illicit market. Do not deprive people who depend on this effective analgesic.

This sounds more like a cry of desparation to me. The question is: If you all-of-the-sudden managed to stop the flow of fentanyl, why couldn't you have stopped if before? The country that receives products has to pay the tarriffs, so that just means we will have to pay more too. So STOP exporting/importing to/from the US. Period. Remember when this same fellow froze protesters bank accounts and began collecting peoples weapons? Yet, he has the gull to talk about dictators. Trump actually wants to avoid WWIII and I hope what his administration does will bring an end to the war. Though, I do agree he should be more tough on Putin. That being said, I do agree that the crossings from Canada are not nearly as significant as compared to our southern border. It would be nice to see more from Canada in their investments to secure the border and stop crossings, cartel movements, and drug operations. The US has spent more than 409 billion since 2003 on such operations. Regardless, I feel for you Canadians and it sucks that it has come to this and I hope we keep strong relations in the future. Hopefully we can come to a fair deal soon. Mexico and China are the big players that do not do nearly enough to prevent these crimes. In fact, the Mexican government helps the cartels by not trying to stop them. China's lack of regulation on the ingredients to make fentanyl contribute to a large extent to this tragedy as well.

There's one about the fentanyl that I find rather strange. The smugglers wouldn't be bringing it in unless there's a market for the stuff. So, the simple solution is stop using it, and, problem solved. There's more than one dumb American.

That's really what Trump wanted. No matter the efforts on the border and stopping fentanyl. What have Trump done to stop fentanyl in the US or what have he done to help people get out of their drugs addictions. Have he done an amazing job on that? I don't think so. This is just a sampling of what happens when you elect an official do the highest office in the land while this individual Donald Trump is Holden s official position as dog catcher is out of his ability. The issue on fentanyl, is a intoxicant that will not and cannot be defeated. This is a total failure on the government's inability to protect its own citizens that is their number one job.. The only solution that I have heard that remotely makes any sense is the Cato institute conclusion that the wisest route to go is completely legalization with age restrictions. While this may not be the desired outcome it's the only one that I see that makes any sense whatsoever it seems that when a solution like this offered so many individuals who have no gravitas in this matter will come back to the same nonsensical bulshit that they're going to stop the flow that is absolutely impossible. However we will continue on that course and we will continue to fail. The Cato Institute was initially funded by the Koch brothers a extremely conservative organization that gets together a group of the brightest and the best in trying to determine what is the best solution.the Koch brothers were the group that invented the tea party I would love for anybody who disagrees with this post. They need to STOP saying they want to wipe Fentanyl from the earth. It is used daily in ALL hospitals to put people asleep for surgeries and spinals for giving birth. It will never STOP.

What would really help with the Fentanyl problem would be for Trump to get his Red State White Trash to stop using it. The problem is not trafficking drugs, it's the DEMAND for drugs.

I am Canadian and I don't trust Trudeau about Fentanyl. Fentanyl is a very serious problem in Canada. You can find it in schools and around corners of almost every community. Our government has no intention to solve Fentanyl problem here. If so, its not possible to stop the flow of Fentanyl from Canada to USA.
