I have always been a proud American citizen. My paternal side of my family has been traced back to the Mayflower and I have ancestors and family that have served in the Revolutionary War, the American Civil War, WWl, WWll, Vietnam, the Gulf, and Afghanistan. This country has made many mistakes and has had much shame throughout its existence for various things but this is the first time and U.S. president has turned his back on our friends and allies in favor of an evil authoritarian leader named Vladimir Putin who strokes his massive ego and gives him elusions of power and respect from Putin when in reality Putin is playing Trump like a fiddle. The New York Times was not right. Donald Trump is not a bright guy. I stand strongly with my friends in Canada ??.

Not once did he talk about why this is happening? He says he's our friend but saying it is one thing. Actions speak louder Trudeau. Mr. Trump asked you to meet him to get balanced fair trade. You say you are our friend. But, yet you don't want fair and balanced trade. Hmmm, common sense goes a long. Tariff is a smart way to let you know that your certainly not acting like the friend and ally you say you are. This could all go away, but the truth is your demonrat supporter who lies, misleads the truth, and blames others. We the people don't tolerate that any longer and don't appreciate it. Shame on you!

If the Amer-I-can border is such a worry for this embarrassment of a USA administration (worst in history and that is saying a lot), then let them invest in border controls to keep out the overwhelming flow from our beautiful country of fentanyl and illegal immigrants that DOESN’T exist. All my respect goes to Trudeau, who remained apologetic to the citizens of both countries throughout his speech. SHAME ON CNN for calling it Anti-Americanism !!! As an American who opposes - STRONGLY opposes - the Trump administration and everything it stands for, I am sorry for what our country's government is doing to the rest of the world but especially to our oldest, closest allies. \n\nThe MAGA faithful will remain faithful even as the prices of virtually everything goes up and up and our economy tanks. They believe what comes out of Trump's mouth no matter what it is, no matter how obvious reality proves him wrong. Those of us who know what Trump really is have known what he's really about since the beginning. He's about himself and nothing more. His every move, his every word is about further enriching himself and patting himself on the back for his greatness.\n\nHis election to a 2nd term (and maybe more if he decides to ignore our Constitution) will be written about in the history books and it will not be favorable. This is what he wants, though. He wants to be thought of as an influential figure. Well, he is that. But so was a certain little Austrian monster who is remembered with great shame and disgust.
