Sorry Justin... even though I enjoyed this speech you're still responsible for ruining our country. Your woke policies and taxes have crippled the majority of Canadians and you have the nerve to say the government has our backs is an absolute joke. I don't believe a word you say and I never will. If Pierre was in office right now Trump would have respect for us Canadians. Trump despises JT and so do 80% of Canadians.

What a fantastic speech from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered with respect, with no name calling and lies.

All my respect goes to Trudeau, who remained apologetic to the citizens of both countries throughout his speech. SHAME ON CNN for calling it Anti-Americanism !!! Trump picked this fight and let's not forget that ! And for NOTHING. another embarrassing moment for legacy news media that just proves either how dumb or how corrupt most are.

The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

As a Finnish guy living in Germany I am so glad to hear PM Mr Trudeau´s speech. There are mighty many people around the world who respect and love each other, and try to keep to do so. Chapeau Canadians!! And, the EU is not to screw the US, it never was.

After hearing his speech-I’d rather go live in Canada- he gave it to everyone straight up and came with respect and honesty like a representative should-trump should’ve took notes.

Respect! I think Trudeau speaks plainly about the madness of the latest tariffs. I'm pleased that he speech was measured and polite. And how he spoke directly to people in the USA, dismissing the totally unjustifiable reasons Trump has made for implementing the tariffs.

I lived in the U.S. for two decades and know first-hand that many wonderful Americans do not share the disrespectful and dangerous rhetoric of Donald Trump and gang. I was never a fan of Trudeau, but this was an exceptional speech, and I respect him for refusing to kowtow to Trump.

Perhaps if you are going to broadcast our Prime Minister's speech, one that Canadians need to and want to hear, you might have the courtesy and respect to LET HIM SPEAK rather than bring in colleagues to talk. YOU may not speak or understand French, but we are a BILINGUAL country, so some of us DO. CNN is obviously not where I'm going to get news. Shame.

Gotta disagree w/ Mr. Trudeau on one point, when he says Trump is 'very smart'--NO. Otherwise, Trudeau's speech was spot-on, and I love and respect Canada even more now. Most of us Americans cannot be proud of our country; we are held captive by a wannabe dictator and his stooges who are self-serving, vindictive, and UNpatriotic! To gather some semblance of sanity, I am taking the family on a Canadian Rockies tour in late spring--am tempted to not return home again.

I wish Trudeau was this amazing during his whole tenure. Respect where respect is due, this is an awesome speech.

That speech makes me want my Blue state to join Canada as their newest province! Why can’t we have leaders like him who are articulate, respect facts and do rational actions? Oh, because 50% of the electorate in the US are uneducated morons.

I can't seem to recall, but recently an eminent news personality gave a speech at Oxford about how the Indian passport was happily being waved around at the British airports. That, since the last decade, people of the EU and the Americas have learnt to respect the Indian republic more than ever. So, passports are respected, but the visas get rejected.

Hilarious that not so long ago Palki was in Oxford giving a speech about how powerful India passport is. Apparently according to her the Immigration officer in the UK was impressed about her Indian passport.lolzz. Indian passport holders and quite unfortunately Indian citizens/Indian subcontinent folks are some of the least respected people around the world. People who travelled around the world can relate to this easily. I am not gonna blame the govt completely for this issue. I'm Canadian and worked in Dertoit for almost 10 years, I crossed the border daily working for GM. I've also done work in Louisiana, Indiana and all around Michigan. \nAmerica has some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's a beautiful country and has a ton to offer anyone with an ounce of drive. The variety you have in your economy is amazing, we don't have a lot of choice when we buy stuff, you guys have so much more to choose from, take restaurants for example, I've never seen so many chain restaurants in one place, we have a handful of them. \nFrom what I've seen, there's also a lot of poverty, crime and violence, but that's literally everywhere right now, even here in Canada, we don't prosecute violent crime anymore. The gun issue is probably the biggest problem...I always felt extremely vulnerable out in public, especially driving, because I assumed everyone had a gun on them, I seen so many random guns on people, it just blew my mind. I always had to keep in mind when I was driving not to road-rage...That's how you get shot. The health care industry in America is nothing but a business model designed to bankrupt people. Our system isn't great at all...nothing to boast about. If you have to visit the ER at any hospital, you'd better bring food and water, you'll be there at least 8 hours before you're even seen by a doctor. Our health care is free yes, but we're taxed to death here because of it. I do indeed wish we had a 2-teir health care system, I want the option to pay to get seen soonest. America and Canada have free(ish) speech. We're both being ruled by leftist loonies, but that's all changing in our next respective election cycles. Biden and Trudeau will be shown the door and we can hopefully get back to healthy debate and more conversation in society...Instead of automatically dismissing each other, vitriolic badgering one another and hating each other. We had unity for a brief time, we all saw it, after 9/11 happened. We put our petty crap aside and saw each other as brothers and sisters. That didn't last very long and we've been in a constant state of crisis ever since. The media has driven a huge nail right through society, and takes a blow at every single issue we face, making it Left vs Right...\nIt's unfortunate to say, but it's going to take something truly devastating, possibly on a biblical scale, for us to come together again.

I'm Canadian and I would move to certain places in the US, but not all, the same as I think of places in Canada. I love and respect that the States are or were the beacon for democracy and freedom of religion and speech. The world has benefitted so much from the freedoms outlined in your constitution but which are now under such extreme pressure to collapse. Canadians on a whole are too lazy and comfortable to fight for what is right. So sad.

Each European country has its customs and values, it’s sad to see them fade away and be replaced, in my biased opinion, with more primitive cultures from the Middle East and Africa. Some practices these regions have are quite disgusting and disturbing. Migrant women, children and men are globally sleeping on the street. Asylum has to have a valid right to life process. Trudeua is trying do the right thing.
