Well you have now experienced that this is in fact the case first hand. You have taken from America with very little in return and these are the consequences of your woke agenda for Canada. Look at you spouting venom, dischord and anarchy from your pulpit. Trump is interested in econmic revival for America and if you are not on board you will fall by the wayside. Only smart leaders realise throwing insults at Trump will only weaken your countries position. Greetings from California! I stand with all of our friends in Canada, Mexico and China! I did not vote for this catastrophe but am definitely feeling the pain of these horrendous tariffs. My heart is with our friends up North and I hope you understand that many of us here in the US did not want this. While we understand these tariffs will impact all consumers, as Americans, we acknowledge that Canada and Mexico's responses are a direct result of policy decisions beyond their control. My hope is that in a not so far off future, we can repair our everlasting relationships and continue to thrive united as partners.

1/2: Myself and the saner half of the US that read, understood, and voted against Proj 2025 understands why they need to levy retaliatory tariffs especially as a Michigander who's lived less than 4 hours from Canada all her life, who has family in Quebec and Ontario, and is a job-seeking policy professional and international trade nerd who now cannot in good faith seek a job in the federal government. We have been looking and still do look to Canada as a model quite a bit and love Canada and Canadians to pieces. Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.

So I guess it is only a trade war when the US demands reciprocal tariffs? It seems like injustice to be put on an even playing field when you have not been being held to the same standards. Canada, Mexico and most other countries have had tariffs on the goods they send to the US for decades; why all of the complaints now? Isn’t it fair that the US charge tariffs if Canada and Mexico charge tariffs? Yes, it is. What the hell is Trudeau even flapping his gums about? Perhaps all aid should be taken from Canada and Mexico for being ungrateful. You ever heard of the North American Union? It’s a thing. Look it up. You will probably have the Amero in your wallet before long.

80% of potash is imported from Canada. Potassium it's necessary for plant growth and a major input for farmers. The Tariffs will increase the cost per ton by at least $100 per ton. Regardless if domestic mining increases it'll result in higher grocery prices.... Again. We need to impeach this administration.
