the trouble with immigration policy in canada is that it is no longer tied with the economic need but has become rooted in an idea that immigration is something that is always progressive and desirable. Hence, the more the better, has been the guiding principle for years. any discussion of the merits of liberal immigration policy was discouraged and any questioning of an ever growing number of newcomers was portrayed as racist. bad actors in the form of unscrupulous businesses capitalized on this attitude and started importing ever larger number of temporary foreign workers which depressed wages and incomes. To the mix were added international students who came into the country in their hundreds of thousands in search of work and eventual permanent residence rather than education. critical mass was reached in 2022 and was further exacerbated in 2023. things got so completely out of control that even LPC - the champions of large scale immigration, had to implement some half-baked and half-hearted measures to stem the flow. where this will end up is anybody's guess but once the floodgates are open, they are virtually impossible to close. i am sure we will be dealing with the consequences of imprudent immigration policies for years if not decades to come.

Too many immigrants all over Canada and we have an apathetic Canadian response to Liberal and Conservative tyranny to thank for it. They both want and support mass immigaration. \nThe Canadian heritage that built this country have been raped by big bloated globalist infested MPs and oppotunistic Indians. They prosper while our children and families are stripped of basic Canadian rights. India has iron clad immigration policies to protect themselves from mass immigaration and Canada must do the same.

Immigration is what has made this country sustainable!! But it is the myopic policies and politics of the Liberal government over the last 9 years which has costed Canada to be humiliated at the world stage.

Here in Moncton New Brunswick its been getting bad over the past few years with homeless camps, yet they are building huge apartment buildings on every possible place they can find space but those are all going to all the immigrants and people moving out here from Quebec and Ontario. I'm a school bus driver and just on Monday while driving my students, there was a group of homeless trying to resuscitate a guy on the sidewalk who looked completely dead with a purple face and this happened maybe 50ft from a local foodbank. They all walk like they are zombified and bent/knelt over. Thanks to woke mayor's and their sanctuary cities we are seeing this crap and to Trudeaus and his Liberal governments immigration policies.

That's why both of you are kids/student visas upon entry. Lol. That explains it. 30 years ago, only economic professional immigrants or refugees were only allowed to immigrate to Canada, it changes so much now. That's what happens when Liberal government is in charge, the country is destroyed with their immigration policies and quality of life of Canadians.

Many, Many University Graduates with computer science degrees, in 2021, 2022, 2023 are still unemployed given the Liberal and Provincial Immigration Govt. policies of prioritizing immigrants with IT qualifications and experience on fast track to Canada.

All of the reasons except for #2 and #7 are due to the liberal government policies in BC. For example #3 is a rising issue because they changed how the drug laws were enforced by the police about 20-30yrs ago. Not arresting open drug use in public like they should be as an example. Now they have stores you can buy cocaine in BC. Abusing drugs and homelessness and random violence all go hand in hand.\n\nThe cost of rent in BC is due to foreign home/property ownership getting absolutely out of control. No meaningful rules or regulations to slow this down have been made. The population growth talked about is the unsustainable immigration the Trudeau government has been doing for the past 5 years.

Let’s not circle the obvious here. These are the major problems in Canada that are greatly amplified and visible in the bigger metro areas:\n\n- Loss of economic opportunity due to the disastrous Liberal government policies of Justin Trudeau, with all the known bad social consequences.\n\n- Out of control immigration. Impossible for a country to absorb that many immigrants in a short period of time to make them productive and pay into the system.\n\n-Rampant and oppressive woke culture. If you disagree with it, you’re labeled anything from racist to transphobic. \n\n-Permissive liberal policies with drug abuse and mental illnesses.\n\n-Spineless Conservative politicians. This is changing, but boy is it taking long.\n\n-Canadian complacency and self-imposed politeness. The worst traits we have as a country. We basically don’t react to bad situations until the shit hits the fan.\n\nI’m hopeful for this country, but we still need to fall further down to do the changes we need to do.

Oh as a second note, if any immigrant is watching this and is considering moving here. DON'T. And it's not because your not wanted which by the way is a growing trend with Canadians wanting less immigration. But simply for the fact that Trudeau and his policies for the past 8 years has damaged this nation beyond recognition. There is a good chance you'll end up with a low wage job or pan handling to make money (I've seen such a massive increase in immigrant pan handlers the past few years, it's unsettling). Its going to take at least a decade of reversing and implementing new policies to get Canada back on track to where it was 10 years ago, then take another decade to catch up to where it should be now. So if you do end up here and didn't heed my warning, then at the very least DO NOT VOTE LEFT (Liberal, NDP, Green) because it's these parties especially Liberals that has gotten us to this point.

My guess is because too many immigrants are coming in with these out-of-control, liberal immigration policies and there’s no housing. Adios.

Well, where to begin Ms McLeod. \nFirstly I couldn't agree more, Toronto is now a mere shadow of its former self. It's a shit-hole actually, unless you have the significant wealth to live behind the iron gates of the Bridle Path, Forest Hill or Rosedale. \nSecondly, the increase in crime is a direct correlation to unfettered and unchecked immigration policies of Liberal socialist governments who continually keep the flood gates open for the undesirable and criminal elements who bring their mentality from off-shore. \nThirdly, the lack of public resources for those suffering from mental health issues is a direct correlation to the disastrous policies in the 1970's of closing of virtually every institution in Canada who dealt with those who needed help. We were told the institutions were trampling on the rights and freedoms these Canadians. Today, there is simply no where for those to turn for help. And politicians of every stripe don't want to touch the issue with a 10-foot pole. Have a look at Vancouver's Downtown East Side - it is an apocalypse of a horrible social experiment gone wrong. The same is happening in Toronto, and even my hometown not far down the 401. \nFourthly, inflation and excessive income tax is a silent killer of hopes, dreams, aspirations and communities. \nI applaud your decision to look elsewhere for your new home base!

You never mentioned the real reason for Canada's immigration policies. The stated goal of 100 million by the turn of the century. 50 million by 2050. We don't need computer specialists or foreign doctors, we need iron workers, framers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters and especially bricklayers. \nFor example in the case of Doctors: We just need to approve foreign university trained degrees of Canadians who can't get into Canadian Medical Schools and instead go offshore. \nOur Canadian Universities need to ween themselves off the quick cash Liberal Arts teets and focus more on STEM and Small Business occupational training

We are kind of like the fall of the Roman Empire. They destroyed their OWN empire by corrupt governments, extending citizenship to non-contributors, and excesses. This is Canada today, we vote in bad government over and over...LIBERALS, our immigration policy is a disaster...with immigration and refugee policies that bring in non-contributors putting strain on our economy, and the LIBERALS not understanding basic economics, increase inflation, single-handily with excessive spending of non-dollars under their deficit spending. My mother's elder and younger sister are settled in Markham and Brampton. They often say that more opportunities are available in British Columbia, Edmonton, Winnipeg where population is less whereas Toronto and Ottawa are now reached tipping point. This crap pisses me off. I’m all for legal immigration from other countries that have corrupt governments. BUT NOT THIS! Just who in the hell do these people think they are? If you want to live here in the United States, then you need to respect our ways while leaving yours behind, just like every other country on Earth expects of the people that immigrate into their countries. I’m very liberal on immigration policies. But not on this mess. Canada’s biggest problem is it’s socialistic policies of the Liberal governments. Don’t confuse things: social programs like education and healthcare are not an exclusive marker of socialism. The balance of government interference in the economy IS. Nobody in their right mind would start a business in Canada today. \n\nSecondly, running a business means buy and resell, manufacture and sell leaving a profit. But the business of running Canada is losing money. The formula of running the country doesn’t work. We go deeper into debt every year, now to the point where it’s impossible to grow out of debt. As we allow massive immigration to counteract an aging, non-productive population, because of that negative formula, we just keep going deeper and deeper into debt. But it seems that most Canadians want that because we keep voting in the ‘robbers’. It’s time for Canadians to understand that soon a death tax will come in where all your asset value in taxes will go to the government. But that’s coming and is the only way for the government to pay down its debt.

Let's take a moment and reflect on who decided to up the immigration numbers when he took power....he failed to ensure that the basics to support the liberal immigration policies were in place....among other things....

Why does liberalism today must stand for unshackled pratices that are unraveling before us?? I consider myself a liberal and honestly i think i believe much of their policies are driven by madness, not all of them but many of them. Liberals must be taught a course about rationalism,because many of them are now forcing our civilization to starting at an abyss! Whether it be here in america or Europe,we must all rethink the liberal policies and prevent the genocide of our way of life. The pure suicide of our reason is now being used by conservatists as a tool to taint the liberal creed which is at a turning point. We must overcome by taking demagogues who use inflamatory language towards immigrants accountable and understand the need for a well regulated and welcoming immigration system.

The Canadian government's immigration policies have created racism. When an immigration law is non democratically forced on the people of a country what do you expect? There was no vote in Canada to decide if we wanted to become minorities in our own country. This started with liberal Pierre Trudeau and has been supported by all governments since. Justin may be over the top but this immigration thing has been going on for 50 years and no government dare say anything for fear of losing votes.
