These smash and grabs are a problem, some of these stores are hit multiple times. Perhaps tthese store owners should get a few trained police dogs for protection. Another problem is the.leniency of the courts for these immigrants. Special laws for immigrants is not how to deal with problems.

Immigrants are not the problem , there needs to be a strenuous mandatory assimilation training program required before they are given visa and allowed to joing the community.

The "immigrants" are not the blame. THE GOVERNMENT that is bringing them in is. Get RID of the Libs who caused this problem. THEY let them in (read INVITED them) to get more votes.

My family came to this country 35 years. My parents were educated, they brought over money and skill, we went through background checks to confirm we were not criminals. We paid taxes and we contributed to the society. Now everything is different. The problem is not immigrants. The immigrants who come here properly are fine. They do not burden the society. There are good and bad people eveyrwhere, people cant justify the actions of drug addicts roaming the streets and that has increased a lot now, people acting violently against others just becos they dont have what the other has, and so on. but instead of addressing the high amount of actions that are happening around our own country, it has become easy to put blame on each other. I am not justfying the actions of these bad indians who has done these stuff. but we have to see the other side of it before making this a International Issue. Yes, few Indians are bad but not the entire community. Canada has its own needs that needs a lot of hands and support. So, only if we change our perspective beyond the emotional BS we exhibit, we can address the real issue with real solutions. BTW becoz of these things private companies are the one profitting not the Govt.

The problem is not immigrants but rather not picking the right immigrants. Canada, being predominantly Christian, should have given preference to skilled Christian immigrants from countries where Christians are being persecuted. Instead, you preferred Sikhs, Hindus and Arabs who don't remotely share the same values as the native Christian population. There you go!!! That's the problem.

If I remember right canada first house crises was in the 19’s something and back then they started making more houses to resolved this problem………………..,… And I am thinking that getting immigrants from only 1 country might not be good, because of countries, society mentality…………. One Example ; a-lot people in the USA are strong guns advocate, if Canada only get people from the US and because the majority of Americans love their guns, they may advocate to have more guns freedom in Canada and teach their children guns loving mentality. FEEDBACK: I've operated various businesses in Canada and all I can say is, 'never again'. The BUREAUCRACY grows in strength every year, issuing more & more regulations, stifling everything. For every new rule a bureaucrat introduces, an old rule should be retired.\n\nHOUSING: It's the Liberal Government policy to pander to immigrant voters that has put us down the wrong path. I'm amazed that so few people in, say, Vancouver who complain about the astronomical cost of rent and mortgages realize that their problem is directly caused by our WEAK policy of permitting new immigrants to move to Vancouver & Toronto , instead of the 1,000 other towns where they're desperately needed. How stupid are we, to not even understand the policy issue? \n\nMeanwhile, I actually lost my apartment block in Winnipeg because the market value dropped below the mortgage balance and the bureaucracy was killing me with their conflicting rulings. So, why did my block drop in market value? Because people were leaving Winnipeg, and Manitoba. EVERYONE went to Vancouver or Toronto. As someone living in Canada... I actually don't feel much of the things mentioned in the video. Sure, wages are not growing as fast as it can, but as someone who managed to purchase a home *before* the bubble started to expand, I'm living steady right now.\n\nWhat is REALLY causing a large part of the social and economic issues is actually the fact that provinces are NOT expanding new towns and cities in the millions of kilometers that needs to grow. Everyone is moving into cities, including refugees and new immigrants, which is driving up local prices and demand for everything. A few years ago, there were literally news of townships outside of the major cities offering houses and land for $50 per acre if people move to those towns and live there. \n\nCanada's biggest (heh) advantage is how much land it has. It's biggest weakness is how little comparative population it has. The worst problem is the concentration of population in like 6 keys cities throughout the entire country. If more people who complain about housing or social issues were willing to move outside of the major cities, they wouldn't have those problems.

While I don't approve of giving low tips or being rude, a problem is we have an over immigration problem here with the same number of Indian immigrants coming here as in the U.S despite 10x less people and tens of thousands of less towns. So it's getting hard for Canadians who were born or grew up here to find jobs and many are upset and some will take it out in inappropriate ways. It's best for government to limit immigration so that Canadians can have these jobs. Sometimes you have to put up with jerks in retail. You can always not work there

Well nothing like that, I live in Canada and can verify that. Problem is quality of immigrants, especially student is trash in Canada, Australia and Europe. They come to shady universities for studies, work full time both legally and illegally rather than studying and at end of their education, they have a fake degree with zero value. Just like most of the new graduates in India who have a degree with no practical value. \nIf you have a good degree, right skills in tech and some experience, there are tons of opportunities in Canada. I cuss Canada everyday but that's because I lived 10 years of life - studies and work in USA. So whether I move to Canada or any other country in the world, I would do the same as US has no equal in the world. I lived in US for 10 years, then India for 3 years and came to Canada 3 years back. I would still move to India after getting Canadian citizenship, but not because Canada has something bad or India has something exceptional to offer, but because I want to live with my parents in India. Thats the reason I left US but came to Canada to get a backup.

The problem is throughout the Anglo World, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand, we are allowing millions of immigrants from the third world, when in fact if AI is going to take 70/80pct of jobs in the future we do not need immigrants from the third world at all. The fewer people we have, the more wealthy we are. Trump should fix the problems with the United States economy, such as inflation, tighter credit , homelessness, unemployment , military spending ,wars in West Asia and the repairs of bridges or roads without falsely scape goating undocumented \n immigrants . As an Indian Immigrant who left recently, here are few tips for Canadians:\n\n1. Not every brown person is Indian, I knew people from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka identifying themselves as Indians.\n\n2. Controversial but I will say it, Canada is a FRENCH country with English as its second major language. No others language is as prominent, So if you are sure that a brown person is an IMMIGRANT and they can’t even speak ENGLISH properly let alone French, 99% chance he/she is a problem in your country and does labour work.

I think the Canadian government needs to be a little more careful with the type of immigrants that enter the country. I don't see it as a problem to have Chinese, Japanese, Indians and other people immigrating to Canada. But I think it is also necessary to attract more people from Europe to live in the country. Canada is a country with a white majority and, if they are not careful, the country's demographics could change a lot over the years. European ancestry needs to remain alive in the country. Especially British and French. That is Canada's identity.

Canada is building a tonne of housing as is, a bit less than in the past, so yes, issues with the growth of red tape, zoning, development taxes, etc should be addressed, but the problem has mainly been that the population has been growing at an exponential rate, in the past decade. The construction workforce actually doesn't have that many immigrants - around 77% are Canadian born, compared to 73% of the overall workforce, and I suspect the 23% that are immigrants are probably mostly immigrants that have been here a while, with very few temporary workers (which are mostly in retail/commercial services, elder care, and agriculture). That means immigration has been a bigger problem for increasing housing demand, compared to any benefit to increasing the supply through increasing construction workforce, especially when you consider that the size of the construction workforce is proportional to the total population, while the housing demand is more correlated to population growth. \n\nThere is also the differentiation between expanding infrastructure/housing supply, vs improving/maintaining it. It would not be a bad thing if we were able to shift some of the construction workforce towards improving our stormwater infrastructure, fixing roads, and building transit alternatives (improves quality of life), rather than just building more and more new roads and homes just to keep up with population growth (maintains quality of life).

I appreciate your take. I believe Canada's key issue is that it is facing a cultural decay, which is not exclusive to Canada. Many countries in the west are challenged by similar things such as aging populations and unaffordability. \n\nIt works in a cycle: governments and corporations take turns screwing over the general population and most people cannot afford anything. Corporation does A then government does B; government does X then corporation does Y. On the surface, government is _trying_ to do a good thing, but it backfires quite often, leaving the average person feeling scorned. \n\nChief among these corrective measures was mass immigration, and because there was already a climate of indignation, the introduction of too-many-immigrants was a huge slap in the face. Instead of making sure Canadians were better taken care of, the government responded to the corporations--not the people. \n\nGDP numbers mean nothing to the average Canadian person if their quality of life is in decline. The only people still in favour of mass immigration are those who do not have to confront it on a day-to-day basis. Even Canadian-born (or even Canadian Citizens of 5+ years) minorities, think the immigration problem is too much.

The problem is not with immigration but not having balanced immigration because you know there's huge corruption in the system when high percentage of immigrants are cheap labour with international students and temp foreign workers program from mostly India. \n\nIt's disgusting that it's displacing Canadians and having blatant discrimination by hiring only Indians at almost every corner. They'll keep doing that until there's a massive market correction and everyone in Canada loses their shirt. The problem is ability to buy a house. Without owning a house, inflation and cost of living becomes unbearable for families. Most people coming to Canada have strong family values, so when sticking to those values become unaffordable, people leave. Even those immigrants who are earning in six figures do not see the possibility of owning a house. The majority of new house ownership is still working out for those whose parents already own property in Canada.

People still don't understand the problem of deporting migrants. If the neighboring country refuses to take in the migrants, you can't deport them there. People just don't think things through. They'll probably build camps and then keep the people there.\n\nThe purchasing power of illegal immigrants was more than $254 billion in 2022, and undocumented households had a total income of $330 billion - they paid almost $76 billion in taxes\n\nSometimes I wonder what level of education people have. What will happen when people stop working and the places are filled with Americans? Prices will go up. By the way, illegal immigrants are not entitled to social benefits but pay taxes, who do you think benefits?

Seems to me that the definition of the problem is not clear. What is the problem that we are trying to solve? Clearly, if there are 11 million persons here illegally then there is an immigration problem. What can be done to prevent the number of illegal immigrants to grow? Deportations or mass deportations deals with those individuals that are actually here but does not address the root cause of the problem. The has to be some deportations... but those already exist and already take place. Seems to me that mass deportations is like going on a crash diet for a short time without really changing fundamental habits. The result is weight comes off in the short term but generally returns. So... what is the solution to solving the immigration system deficiencies that has led to the current situation?

As an Indian immigrant myself.. I hate to see what has become of Small towns and cities Specially Brampton becoming a menace. People should be allowed to keep their traditions but not at the cost of local values and laws… and I really wonder what law enforcement is at play when people are driving like crazy… \nPlazas and strip malls turning in to a complete mess in the evening … these were never a problem before… now the quality of immigrants have gone down. Coz Mr. Trudeau values quantity over quality…

The fact that we have so many people in the US undocumented and living here for decades tells us that our legal process is not sufficient for allowing people to come legally. Having that many people tells us we need to treat this as a policy problem, not an individual-making-bad-choices problem. And spending billions of dollars on border patrol tactics that still allow for so many illegap immigrants tell us that our resources are grossly misspent. Plus we treat legal asylum seekers as if they were illegal (depriving people of food, keeping them from crossing in the first place) so people will choose whatever method will get them here. People can be here legally for well over a decade before getting a green card and then even longer to get citizenship.

this was 3 months ago, today there are tons of immigrants causing country wide disruption in Canada and the US. Does not effect me work wise, but many others say its becoming a problem now and the lack of respect to the country their in

I am from Europe. You won't find a single country in EU who will not deport immigrants that do not have legal documents. If they find them they will throw them out of EU and those persons will get 5 years ban for apply legally. So I do not understand one thing, if that is perfectly normal anywhere in the World why t f are making problem of it? \nAnd one more questions for those who are against that ... if someone enter your house through chimney, or some small window in the basement, will you let them stay in your house????? Because if you are against deportation of ILLEGAL immigrants than you have no rghts to be against people entering your house illegally if they want that. Otherwise you are hypocrit.

As a Democrat I guess I’m more middle on this issue. We damn sure shouldn’t be giving away millions to immigrants that come here illegally and have to be placed in make shift homes and millions on keeping them in expensive hotels in New York or any hotels for that matter. But we are part of that problem putting back breaking sanctions on their countries. And if we stopped the sanctions they’d probably be able to have jobs where they were. And not cause massive immigration.
