I live in Melbourne, Australia. I do visit Toronto every year, and it used to be much better than Australia. I went last year and was shocked. Living cost gone up 35% compared to Australia. Minimum wage $17, and avrg. house prices $1.3m, just rubbish!

So I understand why Canadians feel they way they do. Especially the ones born and raised here. I'm 31, was born here, and I often feel the same way everyone else does. The only problem that I see is that the issues that are in Canada are also in every other Western country. I'm concerned with the future, but I also know that throughout every generation, there are ups and downs. I'm willing to stick it out. I live outside of Toronto,I love the lack of natural disasters and access to water, and I still feel very safe. Although crime is up, it is nothing compared to the U.S. \n\nI'm actually living quite comfortably. Although my costs have gone up, I have made smart decisions in my life that allow me to live well. I own my own house, don't have car or credit card debt, and I only need to earn 40k a year to cover all of my bills. Every cent extra I earn goes to paying down my mortgage, gym, and golf once a week. \n\nThe question is, is it better l elsewhere? I don't know, but I am trying to be happy with what I have instead of what I could have had by being born 30 years too late. Ultimately, I would rather stay here work within the system to change it and continue to make smart decisions that put me ahead. Starting out all over again makes my stomach sick, and I love this country, despite it's flaws and its government, it has great people and beautiful nature. \n\nBest wishes to all of you other Canadians, and let's make it the Canada we want and deserve again.

Problems in Canada: too much immigration & not enough cheap housing. Cause: bankers & lawyers/liars - almost all politicians are greedy lawyers. And their house owning friends. I'm not just saying that because I live in my car in effing Toronto.

I have read most of the posts, and as a 78 year old female senior, who was accepted with my mother and father, as refugees 68 years ago into Canada, I can't believe the garbage reasons why these people are unhappy here.\nI am also a well travelled person, 36 countries on 5 continents. Saw incredible sights, YET, whenever, I arrived in Canada either in Vancouver or Toronto, I was always grateful that\n I LIVE IN CANADA.

I came to Canada in 2020. I studied for 3 years in London, Ontario, and moved to Toronto 6 months ago to work. My opinion is that the city of Toronto is deeply ill and something is definitely wrong. I live and work Downtown, and have to pay 2650 CAD/month to live in 400 sq ft inside a condo. There are no trees/wild animals within many square kilometers of my house, but there are a lot of homeless people and dangerous drug addicts. I learned the hard way that living in Toronto and visiting Toronto as a tourist are totally different things. I hope to be able to leave the city as soon as possible, and possibly get back to London.

9:30 Fun fact: I live in Detroit and it’s much much less expensive to fly to Europe from Toronto than it is from Detroit Metro Airport.

I grew up in Brazil, been living in the UK for a long time, I've been to Toronto in 2017 and LA, New York, I saw homelessness everywhere. In the UK things have been bad for a long time. Accommodation is very expensive and landlords are very dishonest. I would definitely assume the UK has become a Third World Country. \n\nI would love to live in Canada but these days, Canada, US, Australia, UK and even New Zealand are very expensive places to live. I am aware more and more Westerns are moving to Southeast Asian countries > Cheap, Good people, Good food and is not full of drugs as it is in Western countries.

From Ontario. I live in the GTA, so that exactly in Toronto, but nearby a lot of tourist attractions and somewhat near the boarder. It actually isn't that cold, but wheatear can change pretty drastically. One day its burning hot outside, the next its windy as hell.

I'm Canadian, and left over 8 years ago. You couldn't pay me to move back. \nWhenever I go home to visit, I'm absolutely shocked at the prices. Although I'm from the East coast, I spent my last few years in Toronto. The apartment I used to live in was $1200 back then. The rent for that same apartment has now has doubled in price. Groceries are also ridiculous, and tipping culture has gotten out of hand (even though service has gotten significantly worse in many places). Besides spending more time with family and friends, I can't think of a single reason I'd ever move back. Even if I wanted to - I couldn't afford it! \nI've lived in 7 countries since, and have preferred them all over my home city. ?

you should kiss the ground your stepdad walks on. i have watched the video's he is in and he is a wonderful down to earth person. your governments policies have ruined the country. i live in northern ontario in the summer and have for years so i know what i am talking about. in timmins they have a spot that drug users can come to and do their drugs in a safe place. when crimes are commited the punishment is a complete joke. toronto was a beautiful place 50 years ago, also vancover. they suck now, totally ruined. so good luck young lady. you have traveled more than 99.99 percent of the population. if you haven't found what you are looking for by now it's not going to happen.

I'm Brazilian, I love Canada and I lived there for 4 years, 2 in Montreal and 2 in Toronto. I'm very sad to hear about the situation Canada is in now, it's unbelievable! \nToday I live in Germany, but I hate living here, despite the quality of life and security that this country still has, there are other factors with which I have not adapted. \nWhat I can say is that it's getting harder every day to choose a country to live in, because they all seem to be decaying. Today, when I think of a new country to live in, I have a lot of doubts, there aren't many options. If a country like Canada is like this, everything else must be much worse.\nCoincidence or not, Canada, among others, began to decline after the country embraced the Woke “culture” and opened its doors to certain types of immigrants who are incompatible with the country's culture. It seems that there is an agenda to destroy the West, for who knows what reasons.

I can understand you so much. Though I live in Quebec and don't feel that economic pressure so much as someone living in Toronto or Vancouver, I plan to go back to Vietnam or at least in Asia. Because I don't like how Canada has become in term of geopolitical positions.\nI'm forever grateful to Canada and Quebec for welcoming my family and giving us the opportunity to grow up in a peaceful environment and having a career.

Canada is a disaster. I live in Detroit area and the economy here is the best in USA. And it’s only a 4 hour drive to Toronto

For me i don't think Canada is really bad at all i know everything is becoming expensive but not everything yes the house is expensive but for me right now i am already retired I'm 66 years old my house i already paid off i live in milton just outside of Toronto the only problem is my two sons but both of my son have a good job my oldest son he worked as computer software developer and my youngest son he worked as computer data in downtown Toronto now my plan i want to go back to my birth country Cambodia for my retirement from November to March April I come back to Canada to see my childrens and grandchildrens this is just plan but remember Canada still the best country to live compare to some other countries good luck to you Alina . Left Toronto this year and now live in northern BC. Best decision I made. The cities in Canada have completely fallen apart. Small town life in Canada is still good though, and much more affordable. But you have to enjoy small town, country life. If you want to live in a city, Canada is not it.

Hello Alina, I have been to Toronto in 2007, and I can honestly say, I did not like it. I have my cousin in Vancouver, and after staying there for so long. Has decided to come back to Perth. If I was a young guy, Thailand would be my choice to live. I have just come back from Koh Samui, After spending 8 nights on that beautiful Island. I have met a lot of people from all walks of life. There are lots of people setling in Thailand today. Americans, English, Swedish, people from Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Norway and so on. I had the pleasure of seeing Lilly, her husband Wat, and her gorgeous 3 kids, her nanny, and her son. The food is so cheap, everybody smiles. Not like here in Perth. The weather was exceptionally beautiful. It rained mainly at night, and once during the day. Alina, whatever you decide to do. Do it wisely. I wish you all the best. Your main aim is to be happy. Is 41k reasonable for rent for a month? helping drive up inflation sounds cool. Sorry, I would not spend 41k on rent. I would buy a house. Please stay in Toronto and Vancouver don't come near I live in my city and never used to have homeless people on the streets.

I got my PR in Canada in 2022, I went there and lived for 3 months and came back. I was better off in my home country than live in a rat race all my life in Canada freezing. Also I realise I was in Punjab instead of Toronto, wasn't expecting the quality of life which I was getting there.

I think it would be better if someone cannot afford to live in Toronto then to relocate. Living in Ontario is expensive especially in Toronto. I go to a big college here in Toronto not naming names but almost all the students are international students and when we have special events at school no food is left for others due to the number of students that their is. I think schools make a big profit of international students along with the government so they live 10 in a house.

I live in Rochester, NY and travel to Toronto frequently. The traffic on the QEW is starting to become an issue. There's always a backup leading into the Gardiner Expressway. They were too many condos that were built and downtown and which is super unaffordable.

I pay $3 in Indonesia, and you can buy a beautiful new house here in a guarded private estate for $200k and live like a KING on 40k a year. You can rent a house with a pool here for $6k a YEAR in same private estate.. I dont even lock my door or close my garage when I leave., like it USED T OBE in Canada 25 years ago..... I live right outside Toronto and our government has allowed immigration to go unchecked for the last 5 years our construction industry is infested with unskilled workers disguised as skilled workers and the local unions are allowing illegal workers to operate using corporation numbers instead of government ID, the twist is the workers without government ID don't have to be paid the pensions or health befits witch makes for a 30% increase in money that remains in the unions pockets! It's country wide and probably works out to billions and guess who the unions donate millions of millions of dollars? The left side of our political parties!!!!

Toronto has turned into an unfriendly, unaffordable liberal hell hole. When I was earning a fraction of what I earn now I was able to save nearly half my pay cheque and now that I earn significantly more I can't even save. Things changed radically over the last 10 years with quality of life and health care in the toilet. I can save more and live a better quality of life in Mexico

Canadian experience is such a BS. So I work and live in Europe. My department has a team is Toronto, which does exactly the same work as my team, but in an NA timezone.

I used to live in download Brampton for a few years and saw less Indians than in other parts of Brampton. But downtown Brampton isn't as big as Downtown Toronto. You can get out of it within 5 minute drive. Soon as you get to Queen-Kennedy , you're about to see plazas with all Indian shops. Every summer , I you walk by Garden Square, the big Tv shows Bollywood movies all day.

Late to the party, but love the tap water thing. I live in Toronto, and work with a lot of folks who came from other places, and they won't drink the tap water! It's ALL I drink. The only time I buy a bottle of water is when I'm walking in the city and run out of the bottles I've filled at home from the tap! Bottled water tastes kinda weird to me, at least, the cheaper brands do lol

Canadian here, born and bred in Toronto. Just where are you getting those housing prices for Canada $550,000 per house??! As I live very close to Toronto just to get into the housing market now you need at least $1 million Canadian. I think it down payment now is $50,000 or more. I don’t think you could find a house in Canada for $550,000 unless maybe a live weigh in the sticks maybe Tim or talk to Tuck and the northwest territories.\n\nI have visited America and, I definitely would rather live in Canada. A little bit skewed but the video makes some good points. I move from Canada to the US in 2016. The US is wild and there are many downsides, such as lack of healthcare and unaffordable higher education to name only the two most glaring ones out of many, but it is economically more vibrant. Regarding rent prices in large cities, if I were to live in Canada again, I'd definitely steer away from Vancouver or Toronto. Montreal has very affordable apartment prices comparatively if you're willing to put up with learning French for instance. Food prices have gone up but so have they in the US since COVID, whether you're living north or south of the border, it's not much better... In the end it's all about weighing pros and cons. What are you willing to sacrifice / let go of, and what is something you can't live without?

Your comparison of Canada to the US is seriously misplaced. Canada is the second largest country in the world, next to Russia. Our population of 40 million ppl is low which is great. Canada is a very diverse country. CANADA is more than Toronto or Montreal. There are many beautiful cities in western Canada, Saskatoon is an example with a population of close to 400K and yes, it’s a city, not a small town. Personally I’d never live in Toronto, and as a life long resident of Canada, born and raised here, who has travelled the entire country. And visited several states as a former professional softball player. Travelled many countries as well as the Caribbean. I would also move to the West Indies, primarily the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines or maybe New Zealand. If I moved from the west within Canada, I’d move to the Eastern seaboard, Nova Scotia is really nice. Both of you, your eyes are wide shut about Canada lol. You’re missing the boat with your country comparison. Come to the west, outside of Vancouver. Give it a go. You just must like it!!! Thx for the reaction tho.

Thanks for this outside view. I live about 150km from Toronto. We cant bring up any of this in normal conversation without being immediately labelled racist. Those same people will argue day and night that immigrants have not caused our housing crisis citing every other fault in the system. Ive seen about a 4x increase in homelessness in the last 2.5 years.

There are problems for sure. I feel India also has its challenges. God save if anyone gets entangled in any judicial cases there. I have seen it in my family, how one false case against you can cost you your life. No place is perfect. Live in toronto, all the above issues mentioned are 100% correct. My wife cut her finger last week, and the cut was really deep. She got 4 stitches. she had to sit for almost 2 hours covering her wound with paper towel, to see the doctor. Plus immigration will get very difficult in coming years in canada. If you know french then you will have chances. And houses which are just made up of wood should not be this costly. I work as database developer and i get paid good for now, but jobs are also not guaranteed and scares. With salary I earn, i should definitely afford house, but Canada have Rahul Gandhi in power, which is making everything impossible for Canadians, so Indians you can figure out what are your chances.

I am in Canada and live in downtown Toronto and can give you ground insights that is very GOOD. There are 2 faces to anything. Canada is a great country more so if you assimilate and speak both English and French.

I live in Toronto and I totally agree with all the info u shared… we pr holders dnt hv jobs even after having masters…. We have to pay 60% our hardearned money for rent. We only see the positive side of a foreign country however canada got lot of issues.
