I'm surprised taxes wasn't your first point as for most immigrants that's the most shocking thing about Canada is the insane amount of taxes we pay, as for the education thing I agree with our policy for example while I was studying Architecture a Syrian lady who came as a refugee had an engineering degree in syria in order for her to work in the field she needed a Canadian degree as she was knowledgeable she flew through the courses almost impeccably on the other hand there was an Indian civil engineer but he struggled in everything except the math, he confessed to another classmate that he bought his degree and was completely clueless, he failed out in the first year... in my mind its a good way to separate the professionals from the liars

I feel I have to speak up, as a Quebecer, the common opinion in the population, especially in the old one is that they fought to have their own country but lost the vote by a tiny % so overall people feel resentful to Canada and the federal governement. Yeah they live in the past, I know, but if we look in history our ancestors had to fight the british over centuries, most of it was fought in institutions and laws, because Quebecers were catholic and british were protestant, also Quebec absolutely wanted to preserve the french language, this unique dialect we have in Quebec. I don't know why language matter so much, but it does. So yeah, maybe that's why Quebec is racist a little, because in order to have the stuff we have now, a lot of nationalistic leader had to be elected. And I completely agree with it, most people wont say mean stuff but they wont mix in with other cultures.

I Was born in Canada and I agree and disagree with some points you've mentioned. How can you come to Canada and not expect to wear a jacket ? lol... The price of living is going up all over the world, the last 6yrs has become very pricey in all western countries. Hospitals are overrun in major cities in Canada that's very true, but not in smaller locations. Boring (are you crazy ? lolol) I completely disagree. You just don't know where to go lol ... however everything you do in Canada cost money ?. And I completely agree when you mention that Canada won't allow you to become filthy rich (very disappointed about that one) ... There is racism, but not just from the predominant Canadians. There have been many times when the racism is from someone new to Canada. But i also know as a black person i will experience this anywhere in the world. (They're portraying what they normally would towards me while in there own countries) ... anyway nice post, it's nice to hear what it's like from your perspective. Find yourself a good Canadian man (or woman) to show you around ???. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but you still have to find the beauty in order to behold it :).

hey im from BC and it's a fair choice to put bc at fourth, but alberta is kinda too cold but at the same time in ways is better than BC I completely agree with Ontario being up there on second cuz its really great. i've never been to quebec and I'm not that interested but maybe I will visit it now to see the difference.

I’m brown and I completely agree that racism is bad in Canada. I have heard n-words towards black people with the hard r, racism towards me, east asians, etc. High school was hell for me and the blatant racism continues with various friends and family. It was always overlooked and Ive been followed and pulled over by RCMP for no reason. RACISM EXISTS IN CANADA AND I LIVED WITH IT MY WHOLE LIFE AND IM ONLY IN MY EARLY 20S\nStats back it up as well. Indigenous and black people overrepresented in prison

I’m white (European French), ow Canadian but grew up in Oakland, Calif, had a black boyfriend in High School and now have a black daughter in law so I’m comfortable and familiar with many racial issues. When Kathleen mentioned she felt uncomfortable with a white man touching her hair and saying it was beautiful, I thought that was taking her perceived racism over the top. If she had been white with the same hair only blonde it would have been equally uncomfortable. I completely agree that racism is rampant and terrible, I see it frequently but it’s important to not make Everything about racism.... that can become a problem in itself

Christians are not under the law of even their own Bible. That is because Jesus fulfilled the law when he died and rose again. Now to those that think Christianity and the Islam is the same you are naive. Firstly the violent verses in Christianity is speaking as part of the old testament temple law. and as I said earlier Jesus dies to fulfill the law, so we are not under the law, and any other violent verses in the Bible is in fact a description of a historical event... \nNow the Quran prescribes the violence in the newer verses. The newer verses of the Quran which supersedes the older more peaceful version. \nIn Christianity newer verses supersede the old but, the newer verses are more peaceful. unlike the Quran where the newer verses are more violent.\nAlso one must look at the founder of any religion to see what it is like. To say ISIS does not represent islam is like saying tele-evangelists are not a part of Christianity. (And I am sure some of you might actually agree with that) but the fact is it does. The personal character of them does not always represent Christianity. Jesus was perfect Mohammad was not.
