I stand with Trump but… I do not agree with the tariffs on Canada. I do not believe this is a good decision.

My heart hurts watching this. As an American, I respect and agree with Prime Minister Trudeau. Canada has been a kind and generous ally, and our current government leaders are just coming up with excuses for this stupid ass trade war. \n\nI am so sorry to all the Canadian citizens whom this negatively impacts. I hope you will show grace to those of us who voted against Trump and who continue to stand up to this tyrant.

Ya know, it’s honestly comical that some many people have these knee jerk responses to anything they deem “negative” STRICTLY for the fact that it came from Trump, and rather know TRULY ABSOLUTELY NOTHING behind the reason why these “negative” things are said or done in the first place… I ASSURE YOU 99% of the people complaining about this Canada tariff don’t know that it’s simply to (essentially) force Canada to agree to ramp up their border DEA enforcement/presence to help cut down on the illegal drug trade (primarily fentanyl) coming into America! If more of these people complaining knew this reasoning behind it, I think that would quite honestly shut a lot of them up! And to be completely honest with you, that failure falls on NO ONE MORE THAN THE JADED MEDIA!! I truly believe THAT is hands down the biggest failure in our nation currently!! The media is HANDS DOWN our biggest enemy so far this presidential term!

i live in Canada and i do not agree with what Justin Trudeau is doing. We SHOULD back down from fighting! This is a war we cannot win.❤ Most people in Canada want Justin out of office. He is putting tariffs on imports because he wants people to buy items that are made in the United States of America. i think that is a good thing for Donald to do for the country of United States: putting America first.❤ The way i see it is that Canada is going to war with both Russia and the United States of America! Don’t be fooled, Trudeau has made the opposition in Canada much more popular with his “good talk/ opposite results. The Dems lost for this exact reason in the US America will be strong either way. You have threatened your own economic and personal freedom. Prime Minister Trudeau spoke succinctly in a comprehensible way to let you, the american people, know the seriousness of your choice. If you understand what you have done and realize the implications, then peacefully protest (if that is still allowed with your evolving fascist/populist/authoritarian government). Contact your local, state/territorial and federal government officials. You can let your governors, senators and representatives know that you do not agree with the government’s actions and the subsequent hardship it will impose not only on the world but on you, your family and neighbours. I’m not a fan of Trudeau but he speaks in a calm rational manner. He is polite but firm. I’m an American and although I agree with some of Trumps ideas, being rude and not thinking things through before acting, is inexcusable. We have enemies all over the world and now we have even turned our friends against us. The drug problem is an American problem, not Canada or Mexico. We can’t keep guns from entering Mexico, arming the cartels, how can we expect the Mexican government to keep drugs out of America?

I agree with Canada in every statement said here. It’s sad that Americans have allowed themselves to be manipulated by one man. As an American I say to Canada and Mexico, do what you need. We don’t see this as an attack on us, but as a response to an attack by Trump on your countries. I used to wonder how Hitler was able to convince so many to follow him. We have seen exactly the same behavior by Americans, today, who follow Trump. It’s sad, and it’s disgusting.

Most all the overseas US mfg might come home to moma. \nI would advise Trump to selectively wave tariffs on some items like lumber from Canada and food from mexico. As for oil from Canada I think Trump will let Chevron develop and buy heavy oil from Venezuela. If not might have to wave/reduce tariffs on Canadian diluted bitumen oil.

Those of us who did not vote for Trump do not want this either. My last two out of three vacations were spent in Canada. I hate to see our friends treated this way. Don't think we all agree with the way Trump is governing.
